lip plumpers

Just curious to know if anyone here uses or has tried using a lip plumper. Not injections or a pump. Any good products, good results or length of time lips stay plump?

It would be nice to add some volume to my pout and not look like i took a punch to the face haha...

I was looking at Wexler advanced lip plumper as it had more consistant good reviews. Taking any input /cheers

I have tried a couple and so far I call BS as far as any noticable results aside from "buzzing" lips. I usually achieve far better results "sculpting" my lips with liner and lipstick/stain.

I have tried one, or rather had it tried on me. I have to say, it did work, but the results didn't last very long, so you'd have to pretty much keep it on you at all times and really stock up. I don't think it would be worth it.

I have tried one before. I guess the formula uses concentrated cinnamon to make the lips swell up some. I guess it worked to an extent but the burning feeling wasn't the best. Now I just stick to regular lipstick.

Lol, funny Mia. After some more research and even talking with the make up girls in town. the spicy hot tingly plumpers work for very few people and for most just burn and irritate. The advice i got was to stay away from the burning glosses as i could try a dozen brands before finding one that may work for me. As per my original post, i was told to look at Wexler and that it did plump with good volume and lasted 5-6 hours. It was also mentioned that Avon makes a really good plumping lipstick, Clinique was suggested and i even came across many write ups or reviews that gave it good grades in creating volume, having no spicy tingle and about 5-6 hours of good full lips.

Maybe it is not really worth my money and time, but i do look at my paper thin lips and dream of them being a full pout. I do appreciate the replies too. thanks :)

Old but fun topic!

My opinion? THEY DO NOT PERFORM AS ADVERTISED! Sorry - end of story.

Rub jalapeno or even habanaro juice on your lips maybe for the swelling you want (KIDDING! DON"T DO THAT)

On a related subject, surgical injections? my research shows they are temporary - look at Goldie Hawn in the movie Death Becomes Her - she doesn't look that way anywhere else, and certainly not today.

Using you own fat as injections? 30% effective at best, from what I read - so maybe it is best to have a bit of FFS that reduces the skin between your upper lip and the nose, plus an under the chin skin reduction. But be careful as you may never be able to eat an apple again without juice drooling down your chin. Plus people may start calling you either Chip or Dale.

LOL.....

Actually in the middle ages and before...women did use stinging bees for puffing up the lips....

The bee/wasp/hornet was held with a tweezers like device and allowed to sting the lips repeatedly....

It's still done in some places...

I know what you mean Dominique a fat lip would give me some lips, especially the upper, permanent stiff upper lip. I understand bo-tox lasts about 3 months? Any RLE out there.

Be careful with Botox.....

Botox does indeed give a MILD plumping effect , (due to relaxation of the "edge" of the muscle), when administered close to the lip, BUT side-effects such as difficulty saying the letters "p" and "b", and sipping through a straw, etc., can occur. For real lip volume improvement, fillers work very well.

Please be careful...

I think i'd rather find some young cute person to suck on my lips. Sorry but better than bee stings. Are you a beekeeper Mia? Used to keep bees and my son has a bunch of hives. Still prefer kissing though,

A friend of mine swears by City Lips. I don't know whether it works or not and am not terribly worried about finding out just right now. Maybe someday I'll worry about that but not now.

Yes my spouse and I have a few hives. We keep them mainly for the pollination they provide and usually let them keep their honey over winter.

@Mia Marie I agree that it seems most of the focus is on Trans Youth.  And maybe that is in part because of protecting Trans Youth from the political environment, and to give them a chance to transition at an earlier age.  Many of our generation have been cloistered for most of our lives by societal exceptions and I think that has made it more difficult to be Visible ... until Now. So I guess my answer is ... Be Visible and seek out, or even start, support groups in your local area.  Planned Parenthood does provide Gender Affirming Care and therapy in most U.S. regions (and they take Medicare!).

As a registered CA voter I would be HAPPY to vote against this bill ... BUT as @Carolyn Marie mentioned it has little chance to make the ballot.  Hopefully this will put the Death Knell on the bill.   wrt Parents Rights of notification.  I would agree if there was potential harm to a child, or if the child was involved in potentially harming somebody else.  BUT, that would not be the case in the preponderance of situations.  The decision to Come Out to one's own parents should be up to the individual child only.  If the child does not feel Secure or Safe in their household then it should not be up to the State or School to make that determination. If the child did feel safe and secure they would have probably already come out.  If they haven't ... then the situation seems obvious.  Protect the Child, not the System.

Great news!  We ARE starting to receive more public support and visibility in opposition to these types of horrendous and wasteful bills.

Nice to meet you @mattie22 , and Welcome! Your feelings are very normal.  I felt much the same at the beginning of my Journey.  But, in fact it is a 'journey' that is unique to each of our individual lives.  There is not a specific or pre-determined destination.  That's up to you to discover as you find your way. You already received some great Encouragement here.  I hope stay with us, and you will both discover and contribute.  Deeps breaths ... one step at a time

Incredible news for transgender and abortion providers and patients in Maine. Despite violent threats, Gov. Janet Mills of Maine has signed a sanctuary bill into law. It even enshrines WPATH Standards of Care as protected by Maine.   https://twitter.com/ErinInTheMorn/status/1782894991368462520/photo/1

Basically my only source of validation is from close friends who know I'm trans 😅   I'm not a very masculine-looking guy in general, and I've had to stop binding due to pain, so strangers and physical validation aren't things I can get. My family still uses she/her pronouns and female terms with me, so there's not much validation at home, either.   I'm grateful I have friends that are willing to use my pronouns and such, though. It makes me feel a lot better.

I use my  chosen name online and when ever I can. I play some online game and only go by that name. That is how everyone there know me. Yes it does feel great to be called the name you prefer.

I was ten years old when my mom walked in on me frolicking around my room dressed up in her bra, panties, and some pantyhose. I had been doing this in the privacy of my bedroom for a little while now so I had my own little stash box I kept full of different panties, bras, etc ... of hers. My mom's underwear was so easy for me to come by and she was a very attractive woman, classy, elegant. Well when she walked in on me, she looked at me with disgust and said to me... "If I wanted to run around like mommy's little girl instead of mommy's little boy, then she was going to treat me like mommy's little girl."  She left my bedroom after telling me NOT to change or get dressed or anything and returned with a few of her work skirts and blouses and such. She made me model off her outfits for her and I have to admit ... I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT. I felt so sexy, and feminine. And she knew I loved it.  She told me we can do this every weekend if I'd like. It would be OUR little secret.

The usual social ways, of course.  Taking care of my partners and stepkids, being involved in my community.  That makes me feel good about my role.   As for physical validation and gender... probably the most euphoric experience is sex.  I grew up with my mother telling me that my flat and boyish body was strange, that my intersex anatomy was shameful, that no man would want me. So experiencing what I was told I could never have is physical proof that I'm actually worth something.

<Moderator hat on>  I think that, at this point we need to get the thread back onto the topic, which is the judge's ruling on the ballot proposition.  If there is more to be said on the general principles of gendered spaces etc., please discuss them, carefully and respectfully, in separate threads. <Moderator hat off>

People who have no understanding of transgender conditions should not be making policy for people dealing with it. Since it is such a small percentage of the population, and each individual is unique, and their circumstances are also unique, each situation needs to be worked with individually to see that the best possible solution is implemented for those involved.
