.

Well, in typical New Orleans fashion, it got up to 78 deg today....the 2nd of Feb.

So we got the bikes out of storage.....(our storage place is on the third floor...it floods here, ya know...)

We put the bike rack on the car and went to air up the tires......

Then, the first ride of the season.....

Up the street to the shore of lake Pontchartrain, along the beach to the city park.....

15 miles in all!

But, we may of "over frolicked"........

*whimper...moan....groan...*

Pfft, I biked 20 miles with about 4 very short breaks, all on an upward incline, aside from the godsend of going downhill once every few miles.

Of course though, I'm 16 and ended up not moving for the rest of the day, but still! xD

Oh, wow!

Biking is such fun! I love biking!

It's far too easy to overdo, 'cause its so much fun!

Glad you took advantage of the warm weather!

I cannot wait to bike again... maybe in April.

So excited for you! Enjoy!

Yeah, well.........we had a strong head wind.....we're both over 62......and we only took 37 breaks....the snow was 43" deep and there was a hurricane going on and ours was uphill BOTH ways! And, the elephants.....lemme tell you about them!

Well, I'm only two years younger than Dee Jay and I traveled over 35 miles today, stopping to practice the trumpet in the park twice and I am not hurting at all.

Admittedly I was in my car with the bike on the rack behind me, we all had to air the tires first so mine was there and I did take my bike more than twice the distance than they did.

OK, I did not ride at all today but I did have my bike with me and I had my helmet too - but I did my workout on purple trumpet.

It was a beautiful day for bike riding or playing trumpet in the park.

Love ya,

Sally

What a lovely way to spend the day!

Good for you too although I bet your body doesn't agree at the moment.

Think of all the rides ahead through the Louisiana spring!

Love

That is awesome news DJ. Most of my riding has been on the trainer so far this year. I did get my fixie out once in January right after a snow storm, but before the plow trucks came out.

I cant wait for the weather to really break, I plan on doing a thousand miles this year. Last year I did a litle over 600.
