Heels!

28 posts in this topic

I normally wear a pair of boots but last night I was given a couple of pair of heels. Even though I am a bit wobbly in them, I can actually walk in them (it forces me to walk with full height and lady like ~smiles~. The person who gave them to me was shocked that I could walk so natural in them. Has anyone else have a similar story?

First time I ever wore womens clothing in public was for a drag night and a friend with large feet lent me her 6" stiletto heels which she thought would be funny to see me topple over in. Well all i can say was that egg was on her face when i walked better in them than her. =D

When I started out, I had no idea how hard it was to walk in high heels, but I was willing to learn. I bought 3-4 pairs of 3 and 3.5 inch stilletto heels and boots.

Well, sorry to say, it was money wasted. I couldn't walk more than 20 feet or 5 minutes in those things, and never wore them again. Nowadays, 2.5 inch chunky heels is all I wear, and 2" are even better.

I could probably learn how and get my calf muscles not to scream in pain if I gave it a couple of years. But I don't plan on needing them near that long.

Some of us are BORN to wear heels. The key is to just be a woman... your stride shortens, your arm swing becomes dainty, yor hips sway, your head gets held proudly! I LOVE heels - I just seem like an AMAZON in them, so I limit mine to 1 1/2" now - sigh!

Lizzie

And some of us aren't........

I wore a pair outside and the heels sunk into the soft grass and I walked out of the shoes...

Or...I went to get into the car in heels and one heel caught on the door and I feel across the front seat and lost my wig in the right hand floorboard.....

Or..when I walked onto a porch deck and the right heel went between the boards and I was stuck....

Or when I dropped my scarf and while bending over to pick it up...I stepped on it with a heel and poked a hole in it...

Or...........

I usually wear a pair of low heels. They just make me feel better and i've always loved the way they sound. Sometimes i wear sneakers though as most women never wear heels when shopping for groceries etc. . I don't really want to stand out more than I have too. I try to dress with the herd....

After all of these years, I still love the clickety sound of heels. This has been a great week, getting to dress in my business best for three days, and heels are part of the ensemble. Finally had to put them away to go empty the garbage (heels and mud - bad combination!).

Love, Megan

I have to admit that i took them quite easily. The funny thing is that i have always had bad ankles but now that i have been wearing heels to work most days, i have found that my feet don't hurt like they used to.

and don't ever think you are too tall to wear them. im 5'11" and wear 4" heels. and i have some friends who are much taller who wear them also.

I love heels! The just make me stand so much more femininely. Though Im a true believer in HIGH heels. Baby heels to me are 4.5" :P I'm 6ft naturally so they make me uber tall, but as long as I wear them with confidence I tend not to get too many funny looks :P

I can walk in 5'' heels pretty easily, although still prefer flats I think. I think in the real world I would probably wear heels 2 maybe 3 times a week.

I've been wearing them my entire life so I'm very used to them and find them very comfortable. I always carry a fold up pair of flats for driving and when I'm at my desk, but I love heels and wear them for almost every occasion.

BTW, I'm including wedges in the heel. Most of the heels I wear are of some wedge design or another, but I do have some spikes too.

One of my favorite pairs. Nine West.

I'm 6' 5" (and shrinking)...

BUT...

When the time comes, I WILL be in heels, oh yes...

You can count on it!

I don't care if they make me almost 7 feet tall. I'm gonna wear them for ME and nobody else.

Tall? I'm just about over it..

Love and long, lovely legs...

I love my heels, and I'm 6'4". I have spent hours practicing in them, just cause they are so cool, I have legs and I am proud of them.

Shoes are a way of life, I am so glad in today's world they make em' for girls my size, it's so much better now, really.

Ah this feels like home, a topic on heels!

WAY before I knew I was trans and thought I was "just" a CD I thought that the only heels made for "girls" with feet like mine were from Hollywood Blvd. (ie: 5 inch and up.)

So I learned to wear and walk in 6 inch heels. When common sense kicked in my new collection (small one) of shoes were purchased. I primarily stick to Nine West as they make awesome quality footwear in great styles and they make up to size 12 in some styles.

I don't own a single pair of flats. I just feel weird now wearing them.

As far as height and such, I am 5 10 without heels. My theory has always been, I would rather be 6 2- 6 4 with visually small feet, than just a sort of tall girl with sasquatch footsies.

I wear 2 inch black pumps, love them, I can wear them all day long, no pain. I hope to get to try some 4 inch ones soon, I have found wearing heels helps my stature and I have less back aches at the end of the day, which is a bonus for me.

I really can't wear heels. I'm 5'7" and very slim, and I think it just draws more attention to myself.

At work I wear ladies boots with 2 inch heels sometimes. My boss likes to call them my climbing boots. Out and about I rarely wear heels, 4 inch pumps actually do hurt my feet fairly quickly, maybe that's just the fit, I only have one pair, three inches I can wear all day( as shown in my avatar .) I also think that it's a good idea for me to not add too much height.

I just received my 3 inch heels today by the mail (they are really cute ). As far I can tell after walking with them for 1 minute or 2, it doesn't seem to be that hard. It's a little painful for the toes but I getting use to it pretty quickly. Lucky me I have narrow feet for a "man" even for a woman. So I just needed to find a size 11 medium or narrow. The only fear I have is I have flat feet with weak ankles so I don't know how long I can walk with them before I have a lot of pain under the feet (like someone stab them with a knife kind of pain).

Though, I don't really plan to wear more than 3 inch heels since I'm 5'10 even if I think I won't have any problems to walk in higher ones.
