Correspondance With A Radio Talk Show Host

Hi brothers and sisters in Christ

I recently came in contact with a Christian radio talk show host a couple of weeks ago. Wrote in to ask her what her views and opinions were on transexual Christians and why so many people are unaccepting of us. Her defense of course was that God created us with the gender we were given at birth physically. I explained to her my own personal views on the subject and experience and she does not understand and her latest email stated that I should die to the desire to acting like a woman and be a man that God created. I wrote back stated that I am a woman and not acting like one.

Anyhow I sent her some links that might give her more detail about transexualism and that we are human just like anyone else. She says she is interested in me since I wrote her so I will keep corresponding as I can.

Hugs,

Susan

I admire you in your efforts to explain how we feel but it is very difficult to change someone's mind when they believe that they are on God's side.

Love ya,

True... It's a no win with people like that.

I myself can't understand why people of this time and age believe is a myth such as God that was made from Humans trying to find a better understanding and control of life at the time.

But i do say to each there own.. And i just ask for the same, So it bugs me we people of faith shun others just for being who they are And some times they even wish death to them.. What a shame blind people like this make up our world.

Be a little bit careful there hun, but have fun with it. It will depend on the actual direction this person is coming from, and how great an "authority" they believe themselves to be. Just make sure she does not shake your personal faith, or try to browbeat you "with the Bible" to the point of abuse. We do not want to undermine another persons actual faith, just move them over onto a more solid footing of knowledge and acceptance of all people.

I have been getting mileage recently from the Gospel Of John where Jesus explains that a man was born blind not through sin of the man or his parents, but so that God's purpose could be shown on earth. What about our birth condition!!

I hate when people use this logic.....(not logic at all.....)

I often ask in return....

Why do you get a haircut? God gave you that hair and by cutting it off, you are rejecting God's gift.....

And how about those glasses and dental work......God gave you those eyes and teeth....why would you change what God has given you? If God wanted you to have 20/20 vision he would of made you that way......

*sigh*

I have not heard any more from her lately. Have decided to close correspondance with her though once she does write back. Will just politely tell her I have found my answer.

Omg DJ I have used these EXACT same lines of reasoning! ^ 5

Probably just as well, Susan. I highly doubt she would really "listen" to what you have to say. It is nearly impossible to reason with someone who's mind is already made up and sealed with concrete.

Belief systems are one element of many people's lives that they will fight not to change. Translation: it's admitting that they may be wrong.

There ARE very spiritually sincere people that can accept us. It is always worth the trouble to try to show everyone what we think is God's Will. Lord knows they will try to show us THEIR viewpoint! (Pun intended).

I told my sisters I talked with God (actually I use CREATOR) and asked Him why I am transsexual. He told me He made me that way, and did so for a purpose. My sisters replied that they believe from reading scripture that I am wrong. I replied. "Do I believe what you THINK is God's Will OR do I believe in what God told me DIRECTLY? They asked, "How do you know you talked to God?" I answered, "How do you know I did not?" That ended that conversation.

Unfortunately my sisters left unchanged. So even to this day I pray for the CREATOR to open their hearts and let them see the errors of their way.

Really? I am convinced 99% of our problems are we fail to listen - really listen' to what the CREATOR is saying to us. Instead we bemoan "WHY HAVE YOU NOT ANSWERED ME?" All we need instead is to be quiet, open our hearts and suddenly hear what is being said.

The Creator is there all the time - every microsecond of our life.

Lizzy

Oh yea - forgot to mention this - the Creator would not say WHY I was created this way, dang it! I could sense a big ole smile - a 'you gotta figure that out!" kinda smile.

Maybe it is to simply to be here writing this right now... I just donno.... but it makes me smile too, to think on it..

Amen Lizzy! I hear what you are saying. God created me to be transexual for a reason as well and I am glad he did. I kind of think of myself as an Angel of God on a mission. My correspondance with the talk show host ended last week. She just is not willing to open her heart. It is ok, God knows my heart and it is open, caring and understanding.

Happy Palm Sunday.

Hugs,

Susan

Congratulations and Happy Anniversary!!!! A beautiful milestone.    I hope to see you tonight...I just have to stay awake long enough!!

It's funny with photos isn't it, how we think we look in them vs. how we actually do look in them! I'm hopeless at smiling and I have to try really hard not to frown or look like a zombie. I'm never sure how I come across to others.   I had a moment late last night when my eldest daughter facetimed my wife for some now forgotten reason, and when I was handed the tablet and talking to her, I was fixated on my image in the corner. My hair was wild at the time, I was a bit tipsy and all I saw was a woman! I have no idea what she saw in that context. I'll probably never know.

I hope to see you on the Zoom meeting tonight, April.  I might be late, since I am doing lights and sound for a play that opened last night.  I was home before ten last night, so I think I'll be able to make it.   Today is an anniversary for me.  Seven years ago today, I stood up at the weekly community kaffeeklatsch as <deadname> and announced that henceforth I would be Kathy.  It went as well as I could have imagined: there were some surprised looks, but no hostility and lots of support.  A whole layer of stress disappeared that day and has never come back.  (There have been other stresses, but that one is gone.)  I have been me full-time ever since that moment.

This is a scarily accurate description of what I feel!   I hope I don't sound too schmaltzy by saying this, but I remember when I signed up to this forum last year, during the sign-up process the question is asked, "Why do you want to join TransPulse?" to which I wrote, "Looking for a home where I can freely write about my issues and interact with similar people."    I think I just found one. ❤️

Good morning, everyone!! I was up early again - already on my third cup of coffee having walked/fed the dog and read the local paper.   We have a birthday party for a friend to go to this afternoon but no real plans otherwise.   I hope to be able to attend tonight's TGP Zoom session. It's been weeks since I've been able to participate with the illness/loss of our dog, two horrible colds in succession and our trip to chase the solar eclipse.   Have a wonderful day and look for the goodness in it.

I think we tend to be overly critical of our looks, whether we're trying to express ourselves as masculine, feminine or anywhere along the gender spectrum. For me, I use photos as a way to track my progress, to help me find my style and look and to help me find ways to improve myself in posture, looks, make-up, style......   I didn't really think about our FB avatar being public but then realized that when people search they do see it.   Since I'm not out to anyone but my wife, therapist, priest and people here, my FB page remains "that guy." I have created a Bitmoji that is relatively androgynous moving slowly towards the feminine. Long gray hair, earrings, softer features...I'm transitioning it along with myself. :-)
