Today for me its Some B52s.

the lyrics are so deep and meaningful.

Planet Claire has pink air
All the trees are red
No one ever dies there
No one has a head

Love this group for something alternative to my normal playlist.

The lyrics remind me of the red forest in 12 monkeys, the tv series.

very creative use of a walkie talkie ?

Steely Dan's "Showbiz Kids: The Steely Dan Story 1972-1982"  One of several compilations they released.  A great two record set.  So many favorites here!!!

Today im going to be doing that pesky housework thats been needed to be done since last week.

I do love to wiggle my backside and get down to something with a bit of life while running the vac round and exorcising the demons of dirt and dust.

Therefore along with other special and specific tracks.

Music is one of the very few things that can break through my walls and truly let me feel.  I have music playing as often as I can.

This thread is one I look forward to daily. I’ve discovered new music and rediscovered some music I had not listened to in quite some time.

At work, I’ve switched to instrumental, I find I can’t concentrate as well with lyrics  pulling my attention. I’ve really been enjoying Ludovico Einaudi’s piano pieces.  Really anything melodic that builds up to a good crescendo then eases me back out, I’ve been crushing on and queuing up.

Now back  to the soundtrack of my life. I hope you all have a great day and enjoy your playlists.

*hugs*

Me too!   You're right that there is so much good music to be discovered.

I also find that music with sung lyrics can be a distraction if I was working as I would be listening too intently and be lose my focus on the task at hand.  I love instrumental music.

We just got home from an Emmylou Harris concert, and it was outstanding!  I've loved her music since the late 70's.  Her voice still rings like a bell and her band was great.  I'm so glad that she is still around to perform, and I'm still around to hear her.

Thanks MaryMary. I enjoyed the music. My French is not very strong, but enough that I understood the general premise of the song.

Today i have been really Nostagic.

There is a story to this song if i may indulge you for a few minutes of your time.

Maybe about 5 years ago and some. I had an online freind.

This pal of mine was in the Navy During the Vietnam war. he use to spot for the ships guns which would sometimes mean going ashore to seek out the enemy emplacements. Some of the storys he told me were quite horrific

He indroduced me to this song. As when they was heading back to the states this was the song they always use to play over the loudspeakers and it stuck in his mind. because of this i got indroduced to it and it always stuck with me and it is also an awesome track.

I lost touch with my freind. I do not know if he is now still alive or gone. I think he had some issues that the war in vietnam gave him and he never really recoved. I have tryed to get back in touch but never had any luck.

Therefore This is for you P if your still of this world or even if you have gone. I miss you and im sorry we fell out of touch.

I love it!  So many songs that burned their way into my mind as this hippie sniffed the tear gas in anti war demonstrations.  FM radio was just finding an audience as most were listening to AM.  Somehow music brings those days back like nothing else.  "The times are still a'changing".  May dawn come soon.

Hugs,

somewhat enigmatic but really striking lyrics. It speaks about futility of trying to keep things the same.

Wait a while

We’ll figure out our lives

Hold your breath

The wolves are in disguise

Don’t need your dirty hands

Don’t need to take a chance

Go stand in behind the fence

Can you feel that bleeding neck

Can you feel that now

Close the door

Take a walk around

Hold your breath

In these rivers you might drown

All alone you live inside

It’s alone you came and went

In the shadows the bounty rides

A love that makes no sense

It makes no sense...

You could beat a cat in the rain

Losing all that you gain

Working hard but you know

All things will change

The world it’ll spin and stand trial

While they spit and draw blood

from your smile

We’ll all make it back to the stars

But it’s ours for a little while

Oo oo ooo ooo ooooo

Oo oo ooo ooo ooooo

Brace your heart

In this rich and colored plinth

Hold your breath

It’s a key and a killer in your hands

All I want is bells and whistles

All I want is fancy dreams

And you live and learn

And soon discern

Nothing’s ever what it seems

Never what it seems

Beat a cat in the rain

Losing all that you gain

Working hard but you know

All things will change

The world it’ll spin and stand trial

While they spit and draw blood

from your smile

We’ll all make it back to the stars

But it’s ours for a little while

Oo oo ooo ooo ooooo

Oo oo ooo ooo ooooo

Congratulations and Happy Anniversary!!!! A beautiful milestone.    I hope to see you tonight...I just have to stay awake long enough!!

It's funny with photos isn't it, how we think we look in them vs. how we actually do look in them! I'm hopeless at smiling and I have to try really hard not to frown or look like a zombie. I'm never sure how I come across to others.   I had a moment late last night when my eldest daughter facetimed my wife for some now forgotten reason, and when I was handed the tablet and talking to her, I was fixated on my image in the corner. My hair was wild at the time, I was a bit tipsy and all I saw was a woman! I have no idea what she saw in that context. I'll probably never know.

I hope to see you on the Zoom meeting tonight, April.  I might be late, since I am doing lights and sound for a play that opened last night.  I was home before ten last night, so I think I'll be able to make it.   Today is an anniversary for me.  Seven years ago today, I stood up at the weekly community kaffeeklatsch as <deadname> and announced that henceforth I would be Kathy.  It went as well as I could have imagined: there were some surprised looks, but no hostility and lots of support.  A whole layer of stress disappeared that day and has never come back.  (There have been other stresses, but that one is gone.)  I have been me full-time ever since that moment.

This is a scarily accurate description of what I feel!   I hope I don't sound too schmaltzy by saying this, but I remember when I signed up to this forum last year, during the sign-up process the question is asked, "Why do you want to join TransPulse?" to which I wrote, "Looking for a home where I can freely write about my issues and interact with similar people."    I think I just found one. ❤️

Good morning, everyone!! I was up early again - already on my third cup of coffee having walked/fed the dog and read the local paper.   We have a birthday party for a friend to go to this afternoon but no real plans otherwise.   I hope to be able to attend tonight's TGP Zoom session. It's been weeks since I've been able to participate with the illness/loss of our dog, two horrible colds in succession and our trip to chase the solar eclipse.   Have a wonderful day and look for the goodness in it.

I think we tend to be overly critical of our looks, whether we're trying to express ourselves as masculine, feminine or anywhere along the gender spectrum. For me, I use photos as a way to track my progress, to help me find my style and look and to help me find ways to improve myself in posture, looks, make-up, style......   I didn't really think about our FB avatar being public but then realized that when people search they do see it.   Since I'm not out to anyone but my wife, therapist, priest and people here, my FB page remains "that guy." I have created a Bitmoji that is relatively androgynous moving slowly towards the feminine. Long gray hair, earrings, softer features...I'm transitioning it along with myself. :-)
