Cheap waxing?

So, went to wax, was not as horrible as everyone makes it out to be, (although tearing up my foot because I didn't realize you go against the hair the first three pulls was awful). I did run out of strips really quick though, and had to shave the rest. Not enjoying the stubble and ingrown hairs that have followed, also to poor to get it done professionally. What are some cheap but acceptable options for getting waxing done, (anyone know where I can buy just the strips?)

Waxing sounds painful, pulling of hairs. I tried it a few times in the past, so long ago I forget.

There should be some folks coming along soon who should be able to help answer your question.

Many beauty supply stores carry just the strips, often in a big roll you cut to size yourself or some in pre-cut packs of 100 or so.

You can also look online. I've seen them on Amazon. Maybe ebay will have some cheap deals.

I have a lot of trouble with ingrown hairs after waxing as well, so much so it's almost worse than just being hairy. I'm getting ready to try a product called "Tend Skin" which is sold at a cosmetics store called Sephora, or you can go online, google a home made tend skin recipe and make it yourself. I haven't used it yet so I can't say for sure if it works but the reviews online are all great. It can be a little drying but a good moisturizer after use works wonders. Also, it has aspirin in it so if you have an aspirin allergy avoid it. The Aspirin provides a couple different types of acids which I guess help exfoliate and possibly keep the hair follicles open once the hair is removed.

Good luck!

Have you considered an epilator? You can get one for under 30 bucks (though I'd consider paying more for a better one if you can manage it), and it should last you up to 2 years easily. No mess, no strips, it's a one time fee (until you wear it out like I did ;)) It's the cheapest method of hair removal, in the long run, and it gives better results than most other methods as well. The down side of course is that it takes a long time to do what needs doing, I generally take about 2-3 hours, depending on how long I let it go since last time, but it's totally worth it. I just wait til evening when I'm lazing about watching tv.

Do you have any examples of chain stores that might carry bulk waxing supplies, Risu? I'll probably need to shop around.

And is there such a thing as a cheap but reliable epilator?

Once I can look at the price of both I can do some numbers and figure out where I can go from there.

Thanks for the tips so far!

Just remembered another important question, I shaved everything when I ran out of strips on my first waxing venture, how long do I need to let my hair grow out before waxing will be effective, and how long for an epilator?

I believe the general rule is 1/4 inch for waxing and 1/8 inch for epilating.

The epilator I got is very reliable, and I got it for just under 30 dollars at wal-mart. It's wearing out now, but I've more than gotten my money's worth from it when you consider a waxing kit is about 10.00 and a package of razors is about 10.00 (I don't do cheap razors), and I"ve been using the epilator for over a year.

I guess you do have a good point. It's just hard to try and not have the same meals over and over again.

Hi   I’ll weigh in on being picky about food.  Yes, and I was brought up that way.  We didn’t have to eat everything our parents ate.  They had a number of things they ate that they figured we wouldn’t eat, an acquired taste things or one or the other didn’t like them too.   even as an adult there are many things I won’t eat.  In my defense, there are different things my wife won’t eat.   the weird thing is that after being in E, my tastes have changed.  Sweet, sour, salty or bland, if I eat or drink too much of any one thing and I have to counter act it.   Willow

I have shared my doses and levels a lot and no one has said anything. Yeah I put alarms on my phone to make sure I don't miss a dose. I tend to forget a lot of stuff on what needs to be done. I have been also using the calendar on my phone a lot. I missed an appointment because I didn't put it in my calendar.

Feeling better than I did yesterday

It's official. My doctor wants me retested after the last results (too high). The test, that she scheduled, was likely too close to the dose. She did tell me to keep the increased dose instead of reverting to my old one, probably because my "too high" wasn't that high. I don't know what the forum's stance is on results, knowing full well the rules against sharing dosage, so I'll keep those under wraps until I know if it's OK to share those. Less to say, it was over the range she feels comfortable with by about 50%, but taken a day earlier than the midpoint value she was expecting. Grains of salt everywhere!   Of course I messed everything up too, missing my dose for the first time, yesterday. I had to re-reschedule the lab I setup yesterday to Monday from Saturday after taking my shot this morning to avoid the same issue with the testing. I woke up and thought, "Thursday, what do I have to do for work today? OH -crap-, IT'S THURSDAY! I missed my shot yesterday!"   Anyhoo. Question for the ladies: does anyone else get a mild zen-like high after their shots/doses? My brain feels lighter and I'm happier and I feel a lot more girlie this morning. 💃

I'm into my fourth month of HRT and just titrated up in dosage after my last checkup. This is my life. 🤭   I have yet to grow out of my B cup bras, but I have noticed more fullness, having started with gynecomastia. I am seeing less gapping in bras with my right breast, which has always been smaller than my left. My areolae are slightly pronounced/projected now, that are larger but not vastly greater in circumference, and I have noticed little to no nipple changes beyond their painful sensitivity.

-It's not a sprint it's an endurance.  -It won't happen overnight. -Seek a gender therapist. -You might lose a lot of support but hang in there. If they truly loved and cared about you they would stay. -Retail therapy helps and plus it builds your wardrobe and shoes. -Makeup is an artwork. It takes lots of practice to do it right and watch YouTube videos on how to put it on or someone who is knowledgeable. -You are going to have roller coaster emotions so don't rush anything.

You have grown more breast tissue than most some only get one size and that is it. I went from 42C to 42DD but I'm also taking supplements. It's risky to take the supplements but to me it's worth the risk.
