I'M FINALLY ON T! :D

Hey everyone,

I just need to shout out my joy because today i the day that I joined the On T-side of life :)

After a drawn-out and seemingly futile attempt to get T through health care I decided to do it privately. I have been talking to a therapist since August last year but everything has stalled because he got sick and transferred me to a doctor who is not knowledgeable at all. The two of them even seem to fundamentally disagree on how this process works. The doctor says he is willing to start me out but it doesn't sound like it's gonna be right now and he doesn't sound confident about how to go ahead with it. So anyways...

I saw a specialist privately today and he just ran some tests and then gave me T right away! It was so cool! He treats a lot of transpeople so I feel like I'm in good hands. Today, everything just seemed to pan out. I managed to catch the train back from the specialist to make it back to my town before the pharmacy closed. The specialist told me that they'd probably have to order it so I could pick it up tomorrow but they had it in stock! It's so cool! So I had my first dose this afternoon (I'm sitting around waiting for the beard to come in). The specialist started me out on gel just to see how everything goes with the possibility to switch to shots later on. Until he knows how I react to it and gets the results of the bloodwork he did today to see what my natural T-levels are and what the final dose will be, he's put me on half dosage which is **** gel once a day. So I don't really know if I'll even see any big changes fast. But my body is extremely sensitive to testosterone to start with so I hope so! I'm just really anxious to find out. The main thing is the ball is rolling and what half dose won't fix, full dose will in time!

I'M ON T! WAAHOOOOOOOO!!

Thanks for listening to that. And thank you to everyone at Laura's for all the support and love you are showing here! For me, that really means a lot and I know others feel the same way :)

Much love,

Talon.

Talon,

Goofy me, I thought you've been on T for a long time already. Anyway, that is great news.

You look good already, but with facial hair and muscles, oo la la.

Hugs,

Shari

Ended up only getting 3 hours sleep and so am not up to posting too coherently but I HAD to tell you how happy I am for you.

Welcome to a whole new world.

At least it is for me. Hope it will be as great for you.

It's like someone finally turned the lights on and I'm no longer fumbling in the dark

The physical changes are a little slower but you'll wake up one morning and be surprised to see how fast they really have been happening.

Great news!

Talon:

Heck, yeah, man!!!

Honestly, I believe transguys generally have FANTASTIC transitions, I really do! Okay, bottom surgery is far from being perfected yet. However, notwithstanding that I believe transguys often have remarkable transitions ... better than we transwomen more often than not. Just my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Heck, I love transguys: The confidence, the class, the style. What's not to like. I don't care what they're packing down below. To me, they're guys ... all the way ... and better than cisguys in so many ways. Hey, I just feel that way.

May your light shine brightly, our brother! Enjoy the ride, man, because it's a doosey! Just rock it!

Peace & Joy  Lacey Lynne

Thank you so much guys and girls!

Johnny, that's totally how it feels :) Even though nothing physical has happened yet, the knowing that I'm on T just makes me happy and today after my 2nd dose I just feel strangely elated and really confident (And I sweated like a horse at the gym ha ha). And the knowing that physically things can and will only go the right way from here means everything. Hearing your story, it sounds like T fixed your life on many levels. That is so awesome :)

Lacey Lynne, I feel the same way about MTFs! I think it may come from having to live on both sides or something. You girls are just down-to-earth, wise people and it's like you know how to appreciate all the good things in life and the things you have fought for. So often you're not really concerned with all the petty BS that bio girls tend to freak out over (generalizing here, I know bio girls can be great people too but this is just my life experience ha ha) :)

Hugs!

Talon.

Soon, when you wake with a "thick" throat and think you're coming down with a cold? You're probably not. ;)

I started out on Tostran gel myself, and while it was sticky and annoying, I'm glad I did (although I'm very happy to be on Nebido shots now). I've read that starting with a slow development is better for the development of the voice in the long run. I'm not much of a singer, but I still need to be able to sing for work, so I'm glad I started out slow. But that's just me I guess. XD

I like them too.  We had them growing up.  But my father's family were Swedes.

Oh my!  I guess it just goes to show how different tastes can be. Since we don't live near the ocean, Seafood is a rare luxury. We absolutely love pickled herring! Especially my husband and my GF, I guess it's a Ferman/Russian cultural thing.  But most of the kids like it too, and a jar wouldn't last in the pantry for long 😆

I think the key to that is just not minding eating the same thing repeatedly. Since we produce a lot of our own food here, we end up eating what is in season at the moment. So, when the yellow squash is ripening, we end up fixing squash 20 different ways. When the strawberries are ready, we eat lots of strawberries. It's kind of a different mindset to eat in season when it has become such a part of American culture but the grocery store has everything we want all the time. Like grapes in December.  My family does even things out a little bit by having a greenhouse so we have some fresh things in the winter, but it's not a 100% fix.

My brothers and I had to eat what was on the plate.  All of it, and nothing else.  Pickiness was not tolerated.  Some of our least favourite were liver and onions, sauerkraut, and especially rollmops (pickled herring).  We finally protested enough to persuade our mother not to serve rollmops, though she kept a jar in the pantry for years afterwards, as a threat if we didn't behave.

I'll go first.  My favorite team is the Yankees.  Loved them since I was a kid.  I was born in NYC so, yeah.  I know everyone loves to hate them, and that's OK.  I just love baseball in general.  It's a game of traditions, strategy, power, grace and skill.   Play Ball!!  ⚾   Carolyn Marie

I guess you do have a good point. It's just hard to try and not have the same meals over and over again.

Hi   I’ll weigh in on being picky about food.  Yes, and I was brought up that way.  We didn’t have to eat everything our parents ate.  They had a number of things they ate that they figured we wouldn’t eat, an acquired taste things or one or the other didn’t like them too.   even as an adult there are many things I won’t eat.  In my defense, there are different things my wife won’t eat.   the weird thing is that after being in E, my tastes have changed.  Sweet, sour, salty or bland, if I eat or drink too much of any one thing and I have to counter act it.   Willow

I have shared my doses and levels a lot and no one has said anything. Yeah I put alarms on my phone to make sure I don't miss a dose. I tend to forget a lot of stuff on what needs to be done. I have been also using the calendar on my phone a lot. I missed an appointment because I didn't put it in my calendar.

Feeling better than I did yesterday

It's official. My doctor wants me retested after the last results (too high). The test, that she scheduled, was likely too close to the dose. She did tell me to keep the increased dose instead of reverting to my old one, probably because my "too high" wasn't that high. I don't know what the forum's stance is on results, knowing full well the rules against sharing dosage, so I'll keep those under wraps until I know if it's OK to share those. Less to say, it was over the range she feels comfortable with by about 50%, but taken a day earlier than the midpoint value she was expecting. Grains of salt everywhere!   Of course I messed everything up too, missing my dose for the first time, yesterday. I had to re-reschedule the lab I setup yesterday to Monday from Saturday after taking my shot this morning to avoid the same issue with the testing. I woke up and thought, "Thursday, what do I have to do for work today? OH -crap-, IT'S THURSDAY! I missed my shot yesterday!"   Anyhoo. Question for the ladies: does anyone else get a mild zen-like high after their shots/doses? My brain feels lighter and I'm happier and I feel a lot more girlie this morning. 💃

I'm into my fourth month of HRT and just titrated up in dosage after my last checkup. This is my life. 🤭   I have yet to grow out of my B cup bras, but I have noticed more fullness, having started with gynecomastia. I am seeing less gapping in bras with my right breast, which has always been smaller than my left. My areolae are slightly pronounced/projected now, that are larger but not vastly greater in circumference, and I have noticed little to no nipple changes beyond their painful sensitivity.

-It's not a sprint it's an endurance.  -It won't happen overnight. -Seek a gender therapist. -You might lose a lot of support but hang in there. If they truly loved and cared about you they would stay. -Retail therapy helps and plus it builds your wardrobe and shoes. -Makeup is an artwork. It takes lots of practice to do it right and watch YouTube videos on how to put it on or someone who is knowledgeable. -You are going to have roller coaster emotions so don't rush anything.
