In the summer of 1965 Bob Dylan's album cover for B.I.A.B. H. had a picture of him sitting across from a willowy androgynous looking woman.

The rumors floating about were that "the woman" was Dylan, Xdressing. It was intriguing but not true. The woman was his managers wife, soon to be exwife. Which was cool because she was beautiful and now set free. B)

A decade later in the summer of '75 Dylan went on tour, wore make up and a woman's hat for the entire summer. That was cool. The tour was entitled "Rolling Thunder Review' The cd can be viewed at Dylan.com tittled "Live 1975.

Note: Attorneys! No implications!

My question is does anyone remember and your thoughts on Dylan as one of us? From away back then...Mia B) ps this happy face kinda looks lke Dylan. B)

Interesting postulation Mia...had to get my copy of Writings and Drawings by Bob Dylan out to check a few lyrics. Hmmm Highway 61 Revisited (one of my all time favs) Queen Jane Approximately...interesting...little sprinkles here and there throughout after BIABH when he'd gone electric. This was when he was still very hooked-up with Joan Baez...probably some explorations...who knows? Dylan is a pretty private person who seems to reveal lots...under many layers...really an interesting consideration (-; Kelly Ann

Not an authority on Dylan, but you might remember Lou Reed from the Velvet Underground. If not check out his song, "Take a Walk on the Wild Side", I believe that it was on the Lou Reed album "Transformers" on the cover is a picture of him on stage wearing a yellow leotard, heels and pantyhose - the reinforced panty shows around the leg openings down about three inches (trying to be sure you noticed). The interesting lyric in this one is, "he shaved his legs and now he's a she,"

(the Velvet Underground was one of Andy Warhole's favorites - he was pretty close with the members and designed the 'banana' cover for one of thier albums.)

I have my moments, but then I'm old enough to just forget them!

Do you remember the attention that Culture Club got when it released the first album with Boy George? On the first release, there was no mention of sex other than the name being "Boy George" - people would stare at the cover and argue, that's a girl!, that's a guy!. He was much better looking in the old days. :D He then started to appear on talk shows and everybody found out - so the excitment was gone and so was the band.

I know of others as well - and while I don't believe that the name had anything to do with anyone in the group there was a group called, "Root Boy Slim and the Sex Change Band".

Love ya,

Sally

O h yes I remember Culture Club. I was living with a ladyfriend and after we watched a Culture Club spot on Saturday Night Live I told her I enjoyed dressing in women's clothes. "Yeah right", she said. Well I let it go and when we broke up a coule, three years later, I told her about Cross Dressing, she didn't act surprised. My guess is after I told her the story years earlier, she started putting two and two together and didn't cae.

WE are still friends now and she knows about my life as Mia.

That's me and Boy George, and my friend Anna.

I spent a lot of time in record stores (even managing a few)!

Of course we all remember David Bowie and his apperances in all maner of dress - from the body suits on the 'Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars' tour - to the Saturday night Live apperance in a mn taylored dress that reached the floor! Glitter Rock was an interesting thing to someone trying to supress his inner woman!

Every guy in that field wore more make up than my girl friend at the time!

Love ya,

Sally

Here is space for discussion on this, since the topic is large and could derail another thread SOMEBODY started.   Could some dear, sweet, kind Moderator pull everything related to this from the Voting for Trump thread and put it here?  I don't know if you can do that; I am the new girl on the block after all (blinks sweetly).

Good morning everyone,   It’s Thursday well as least I took my Thursday Medications as sorted out in my weekly dispensary caddy. Today’s coffee is Folgers Breakfast Blend served HOT, black and strong. My wife and I are going to explore the Western and Southern coasts of Saginaw Bay and hang out in Bay City, MI. today.    @Willowonce @Abigail Genevievepointed out the word usage in your post. I read it and laughed, enjoying the snarky tone of the comment. Since it was spelled correctly I thought maybe you meant for it to read just as you typed it. Then the kinder gentler me thought it would be better if I changed it. I’m not saying I corrected it, I just changed the severity of the sentence.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Things are moving quickly now that I have my drivers license and social security card in my new name. It was really affirming when I got my first paycheck in my new name.

Amazingly I have found many cis women are absolutely wrong in their assumptions about bra fittings. I knew an elderly lady that said, "I have been a C cup since school, I just buy a bigger band size as my breasts grow." This is completely WRONG as the band should always fit snug with they gore firmly against the chest.    One of CNA's came into Torrid and I helped her pick out a new bra. She didn't even understand band size was inches and cups/band combo were based off Victorian shirt sizes.  She said, "how do you know so much?"   We found her proper fitting band size, then found a cup she fit.    How can people that take the vast majority of bra users know so little about them? Seems most cis women just use "try it on" only.

As has been said many times, this is not a black and white issue. Sure.  I get it that a MtF person that has gone through full male puberty and "transitioned" 6 months ago probably has an advantage in some sports.  But these bans affect elementary school kids too. I mean, banning trans women from Darts?  Chess?
