Can MTF eat meat?

meat isnt testosterone filled, or estrogen filled, unless someone tinkered with it. the way you get hormones in nature is by your body synthesizing certain things into other things..

for example, carbohydrates are processed into glucose for energy or fat for storage. This process is assisted by B12 and B6, i mean, specificly, if youre insuficient in those vitamins, you might be converting too much carbs into fat and thus gain weight, and eating less wont seem to affect it, neither will excercise. it will only slow down your metabolism to convert more into fat.

I had this problem, so my doctor gave me B12/B6 injections for a while and vitamin D weekly. The vitamin D helps with lack of energy and helps convert more things into glucose, for energy. alot of chemical going around in our bodies and its not such a simple thing to say, if you eat this then you will have this thing in your system.. because it gets synthesized into other things as your body decides it needs them, whatever they are. \

problem is, sometimes your body wont process things right, if your sick or have some other health problem.

Eating meat does not make you more feminine or more masculine in any way shape or form. a balanced diet is the best way to go for anyone, unless they have some weird problems and need special diets for it. Like diebetics not being able to process insulin anymore, so they have to get it in shots. insulin helps the body process and convert things into glucose and into other things... its alot of things affecting alot of things, and even the experts take years to get a grip on it, and even then they dont know everything. still figuring it all out.

if youre real worried about hormones in food, get the organics.

Just eat sensibly, a variety of things, and excercise, brisk walking is a great excercise, great for cardiovascular etc.

be careful not to get yourself injured so you CANT do simple excercises like walking. it really sucks all over when you can't.

thats my best advice on that..

I believe this is nothing more than a myth.

I'm vegan and the primary source of my protein comes from soy products. Which have a lot of estrogen. My blood work has always turned up normal and I'm have no other myth sighs that soy messes with the estrogen levels. I had other ftm's try and debate with me that they felt a surge in T when they ate meat which, personally, I think is a total lie. When heh, I think a good raw source of T is found in sources like broccoli and spinach. Though not enough to mess with your passing or transition ladies ;3 I know a pretty foxy girl who eats a tonne of that stuff as well, its just a healthy natural way to have it :)

Since I no longer eat red meat and eat a diet high in veggies and fruit/carbs my blood work has come back near perfect. Cholesterol is in check when before it was almost off the charts. I also no longer eat any fast food products. My protein comes from fish and protein shakes. I am eating some chicken during recovery from surgery because I need a good amount of protein each day in order to heal. I really hate eating meat on a moral level.

I am a veggie and in fact try to avoid all fats in my diet. Impossible because even soy has alot of fat but i keep consumption to a minimum. I have severe coronary artery disease and without this diet and the way it affects my cholesterol i would not have been able to do HRT. At this point most meat revolts me. Nuts taste like bacon. Olives like butter. We do not need meat and conversely most of us don't need to avoid it. i do. Funny though i do grow goats for the meat market. Animals that i grow to love are eaten after being sacrificed in Hindu or Islamic ceremonies before being shared with the poor and consumed with reverence. Just a big difference from pink slime and hot dogs. When we were eating meat we ate with the reverence given to the animal you had raised. HRT is changing my hormones. Its not my dietary habits. There have been cultures of very butch veggies in India for centuries.

Charlie

Anyone else here that absolutely despises pure steak?

Honestly, anything is better than this. I'd rather eat snails,

for god's sake.

Ewww steak is ew Never liked it the taste is like rubber I think

Order it rare. I agree, well done steak is absolutely awful. It diminishes the whole point in eating steak.

What about losing muscle? Would not eating meat and on estrogen help you lose muscle? So if you big and musclar then don't eat mean? <Good idea or not?

Eating protein doesn't make you muscular. Only exercise can do that. Protein just provides the body with the building blocks it needs to repair and build muscle. As long as you're not deliberately trying to gain muscle mass, you won't. That being said, you NEED protein in your diet, though it doesn't necessarily have to come from meat.

Okay, so I'm bad and he's beautiful. Andrej Pejic is the most beautiful young man that I've ever seen. I'm positively helpless when he comes to mind.

Geez Kitty, I had to dust off my dictionary to find salacious. I wondered where you've been. I haven't had a "to the moon" in I don't know how long? So you have been drooling over dreaming about Andrej, that's a fine Christmas present!... Well! B) Giggle. Alice

I will fib and tell Santa you have been good, so he will bring you candy canes. LOL! Hug. JodyAnn

Would you? Ok, take them: http://upload.wikime...oles_llauna.jpg

Here in Catalunya, snails are considered quite a delicacy. Although I don't dislike them, and may eat them from time to time, they are nothing compared to the beef steaks I used to get when I was living in Ireland. Oh, my, that was real meat! Nothing like a raw, tender piece of beef or cow to make a meal :D

And by raw, I really mean raw. In fact, I once even charged towards a living cow and tried to sink my teeth on her flank. Fortunatelly for the poor animal, I was just a child and my jaws lacked the strength to cause any serious damage, she just ran away scared. But you can get an idea on how I like my steaks :P

Hugs,

Ethain

PS: Mooooo!! oops, the cow noticed me approaching again ^^'

I would like to add that I often hear Cisfemales and trans woman say they are afraid to bulk up so they avoid lifting weights or stick with tiny weights. Here is the key...if you don't have testosterone in your body at MALE levels you won't bulk up. You will become super toned however. I met this petite young lady some years ago. Looking at her you would have never known that she was an olympic athlete who could jerk 400 lbs. I asked her how she pulled that off with out getting bulked. She said that it took toning, training and a mental attitude to do it. She said that others tried to get her to use steroids but she resisted.

The bottom line is...don't worry about bulking up if your testosterone is cut. You will gain a lovely toned body.

My understanding is that even most males with normal hormone levels won't bulk up because it's not in their genetic makeup to build muscle that looks bulky. Granted, most of them are still far more bulky than I'd like to be lol.

Candy canes?! Is Andrej not available?

And 'drooling over' was the perfect choice of words.

And so, I shall expect that beautiful Aussie boy wearing a bow and hanging in my stocking on Christmas morning or (are you listening?)

it's bang!. . .zoom!. . .to the moon, Alice!

"I love you so much,"  Lois said.  They met in the driveway. "I could not live without you." "Neither could I." "What are we going to do?" "Find another counselor?" "No. I think we need to solve this ourselves." "Do you think we can?" "I don't know.  But what I know is that I don't want to go through that again.  I think we have to hope we can find a solution." "Otherwise, despair." "Yeah.   Truce?" "Okay,  truce." And they hugged.   "When we know what we want we can figure out how to get there."   That began six years of angry battles, with Odie insisted he could dress as he pleased and Lois insisting it did not please her at all.  He told her she was not going to control him and she replied that she still had rights as a wife to a husband. Neither was willing to give in, neither was willing to quit, and their heated arguments ended in hugs and more.   They went to a Crossdressers' Club, where they hoped to meet other couples with the same problems, the same conflicts, and the same answers, if anyone had any.  It took them four tries before they settled on a group that they were both willing to participate in.  This was four couples their own age, each with a cross dressing husband and a wife who was dealing with it.  They met monthly.  It was led by a 'mediator' who wanted people to express how they felt about the situation.  Odie and Lois, as newcomers, got the floor, and the meeting was finally dismissed at 1:30 in the morning - it was supposed to be over at 10 - and everyone knew how they felt about the situation.   There was silence in the car on the way home.   "We aren't the only ones dealing with this." Odie finally said.   "Who would have thought that?  You are right."   "Somebody out there has a solution." "I hope you are right."   "I hope in hope, not in despair."   "That's my Odie."

The counseling session was heated, if you could call it a counseling session.  Sometimes Lois felt he was on Odie's side, and sometimes on hers.  When he was on her side, Odie got defensive. She found herself being defensive when it seemed they were ganging up on each other.   "This is not working," Lois said angrily, and walked out.  "Never again. I want my husband back. Dr. Smith you are complicit in this."   "What?" said Odie.   The counselor looked at him.  "You will have to learn some listening skills."   "That is it? Listening skills?  You just destroyed my marriage, and you told me I need to learn listening skills?"   Dr. Smith said calmly,"I think you both need to cool off."   Odie looked at him and walked out, saying "And you call yourself a counselor."   "Wait a minute."   "No."

I have read some of it, mostly in areas specifically targeted at the LGBTQ+ peoples.   You also have to take into account what and who is behind the words, not just the words themselves. Together that creates context, right? Let's take some examples, under the Department of Health & Human Services section:   "Radical actors inside and outside government are promoting harmful identity politics that replaces biological sex with subjective notions of “gender identity” and bases a person’s worth on his or her race, sex, or other identities. This destructive dogma, under the guise of “equity,” threatens American’s fundamental liberties as well as the health and well-being of children and adults alike."   or   "Families comprised of a married mother, father, and their children are the foundation of a well-ordered nation and healthy society. Unfortunately, family policies and programs under President Biden’s HHS are fraught with agenda items focusing on “LGBTQ+ equity,” subsidizing single-motherhood, disincentivizing work, and penalizing marriage. These policies should be repealed and replaced by policies that support the formation of stable, married, nuclear families."   From a wording perspective, who doesn't want to protect the health and well-being of Americans or think that families aren't good for America? But let's take a look at the author, Roger Severino. He's well-quoted to be against LGBTQ+ anything, has standard christian nationalist views, supports conversion therapy, etc.   So when he uses words like "threatens the health and well-being of children and adults alike" it's not about actual health, it's about enforcing cis-gendered ideology because he (and the rest of the Heritage Foundation) believe LGBTQ+ people and communities are harmful. Or when he invokes the family through the lens of, let's just say dog whistles including the "penalization of marriage" (how and where?!), he idealizes families involving marriage of a "biological male to a biological female" and associates LGBTQ+ family equity as something unhealthy.   Who are the radical actors? Who is telling people to be trans, gay, or queer in general? No one. The idea that there can be any sort of equity between LGBTQ+ people and "normal" cis people is abhorrent to the author, so the loaded language of radical/destructive/guise/threaten are used. Families that he believes are "good" are stable/well-ordered/healthy, specifically married/nuclear ones.   Start looking into intersectionality of oppression of non-privileged groups and how that affects the concept of the family and you will understand that these platitudes are thinly veiled wrappers for christian nationalist ideology.   What's wrong with equity for queer families, to allow them full rights as parents, who are bringing up smart and able children? Or single mothers who are working three jobs to get food on plates?

Well yesterday didn't work like I wanted to. I met a guy and started talking and he was wanting to be in a relationship. I asked my kids on how they thought of me dating a man and they said gross and said no. I guess it's time to look for women. I think that is going to be harder. Oh well I guess.

I am reading the Project 2025 document https://www.project2025.org/policy/   This will take some time.  I read the forward and I want to read it again later.   I read some criticism of it outside here and I will be looking for it in the light of what has been posted here and there.  Some of the criticism is bosh.   @MaeBe have you read the actual document?
