Major news that I found out about yesterday-still speechless

I figure this is a good thread to post this in, but I really wanted to share.

In September, I'm seeing my favorite band of ALL time (steam powered giraffe). I've seen them once before last year. But last week was my birthday and I had my party yesterday.

So later on in the evening, my dad gathered us around the TV with a big surprise.

I don't know how he managed this, but he somehow got in contact with the head person of the concert to talk about something else completely but he ended up asking the band to maybe say happy birthday to me and they did.

They made a video wishing me a happy birthday and that they will see me at the show and I almost fell off the couch. They even pronounced my name right. Granted, no one knows that I wish to be addressed as male. But they pronounced my birth name right and that rarely happens.

So that was my freak-out moment.

That is just so awesome. I can't image how that must have felt. Like every fan's dream come true.

Toby, I can totally relate. My son is your age, and has a couple of groups that he is completely immersed in, and if they did that for him, he would be on Cloud 9. I'm really happy for you, and BTW, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
