Voice Training

I'm looking for some other techniques of female voice training. I have only three sources of female voice training, that I have found through search engines. I'm trying to find at least a book or some computer program that will help in voice training for female voices. I can change my voice to a female, but I want to retain that female voice and keep it to where I want it. If anybody can help, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi Jenny and all:

I also have a hard time imagining being able to change my voice significantly.

I'm not even sure that I want to, being a singer.

Helen Boyd and her partner Betty are most famous from the two books:

My Husband Betty: Love, Sex, and Life with a Crossdresser (2003) - Helen Boyd * Amazon * Library

She's Not the Man I Married (2007) - Helen Boyd * Amazon * Library

The pair were on a TV show, a clip of which appears on YouTube.

Although interesting in its own right, the demonstration of male and female voices was the most astounding.

The demonstration of Betty's male voice occurs at about the 4:00 point.

Z.

How effective is any of this, I have never tried. I have a hard time imagining being able to change my voice that well.

Oh you can. I use the gargle method and the minnie mouse method. Producing the voice without resonance, that is the real key. It takes practice, and you have to carry on a conversation with the radio (I usually do this in my car), but it is heaven to really affect a lovely female tone. Mmmm-mmm.

I speak very clear and feminine naturally but I'd love to work on raising pitch and 'roll-off' on my low frequency tones.

Curse this built-in subwoofer! lol :D

I wish it was as easy as installing an active cross-over.. just attenuate the 'low cut' filter to 170Hz. lol :D

Traci, The biggest thing to do to keep the voice where you want it, is to practice. For me it took half a year but now i wake and i have to switch to the male voice instead of the other way around. Patients, Practice, and alot of Losinges for the throat and you will be good.

I've found breathing is the most important step for me, controlling my breathing first, then trying to raise pitch etc. Youtube is a great resource, this video in particular: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=o3OacKyIdIg was very helpful I suggest subscribing to the channel if you have not already. I'm prob a little late, but thought I would mention it anyway.

'Audio Technocrat' language lol..

Hz is the value of a sound frequency, measured in Hertz (Hz)..

A cross over is a device used between an amplifier and a loudspeaker, commonly with subwoofers, that can limit the range of the sound spectrum to a smaller range for higher speaker performance, for example, cutting out either bass tones, midrange or treble sounds..

I hope this helps. :D

This topic reminds me of the lyrics to the Beatles song, "A Little Help From My Friends."   "What do you see when you turn out the lights?"   "I can't tell you but I know it's mine."   Carolyn Marie

@Ivy have you read the actual document?   Has anyone else out there read it?
    • Abigail Genevieve
I am reading the Project 2025 document https://www.project2025.org/policy/   This will take some time.  I read the forward and I want to read it again later.   I read some criticism of it outside here and I will be looking for it in the light of what has been posted here and there.  Some of the criticism is bosh.   @MaeBe have you read the actual document?

      No problem!

Old topic, but I gotta say my favorites are: "Stop hitting on minors" (doesn't work if you're holder tho) and "Sure as [squid] not you"

Abigail, I think we will just leave the other posts where they are, and the discussion can start anew here.  It is possible to do what you ask, but would disrupt the flow of the discussion in the other thread, and would require more work than it's worth.   Carolyn Marie

I am in too good a mood to earn my certificate today. I am sure something will happen that will put me on the path to earning it.

It's likely most cis-women consider a fitting unnecessary "because they know what  they wear" and get used to the wrong size.  The instructions for what your size is are simple and why go to any further effort?  You measure your bandsize and you measure your max and subtract the two to get the needed info for the cup size.  Then you buy the same size for years until it hurts or something.

Congratulations Lorelei! Yes, it is a powerful feeling to have the documents that say "you are you".

Here is space for discussion on this, since the topic is large and could derail another thread SOMEBODY started.   Could some dear, sweet, kind Moderator pull everything related to this from the Voting for Trump thread and put it here?  I don't know if you can do that; I am the new girl on the block after all (blinks sweetly).

I will have arrived when I have a b*tch certificate of my own.  I think someone called me one once.

That’s fantastic Lorelei. I’m so happy for you.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
