Who Do You Admire?

Another topic got me thinking... who are your female role models and when did you begin to have them? Anyone you admire or wish you could be like or look to for her attitude or fashion sense. I've had a quite a few over the years from childhood (arond 5) Laura Ingalls/Melissa Gilbert, Wonder Woman/Lynda Carter... as a teen, Princess Di for her fashion sense and of course her compassion...as an adult Kate Winslet for her talent and true beauty...

When I was very young I admired my Grandmother, I still do she became an ordained minister in our church and moved to the main office to handle the national distribution of funding for world wide missionary works. Very much ahead of her time.

I have had a few others along the way mostly women who had beaten the odds, not so much celebrities (looks can get you by) but world leaders and teachers.

While Princess Di was getting a lot of press and doing a lot of good works, Mother Teresa was living in poverty in India running an orphanage, she won the Nobel Peace Prize for Humanitarianism and put all of the prize money into the orphanage - I hope to be that giving in my life, I try but it is so hard.

After admitting to myself that I was Transsexual, I started to notice some of the outstanding works by some of these women, Dr. Marci Bowers has to be a role model, she not only transitioned but has become a SRS surgeon and an advocate.

I hope to have the strength and resolve to help all of the transsexuals who are coming in this generation and all of those to follow.

I have managed to slide through 57 years on this Earth without making much of a mark, I am planning on changing that by working for educating society about transsexuals and transgendered of all types hopefully starting by getting my book published.
