When did your HRT start effecting exercise

Been on HRT for 2.5 weeks and feels like its starting to affect my bike riding. It does not feel as strong on grades or into the wind as before. When did your hrt treatment start showing up while exercising and how did it affect you?

I am hoping my bike riding will not be effected as it is more than just exercise for me.

I suppose my tenacity will just have to grow in the event of decreased strength.

I have not heard of HRT diminishing goals one sets for themselves despite being on HRT

So far at least in my case T blockers have had no noticeable effect on my riding at all,in fact I am still progressing.

Anger and Sexual urges however have been noticeably diminished, and welcomed.

I am still waiting for the E prescription to start a full regiment,so I still dont know what is going to happen.

I guess just pushing harder out of sheer persistence is all one can do to compensate, good luck with keeping in shape on your bike regardless.

I am unfortunately unable to ride as i did. I was a licensed racer but as far as E went i rode with plenty of cis women who were hard to keep up with. I think that with training and continued work you can ride hard and well. Things change and i know i'm weaker than i was after more than a year on HRT but if i put the effort in i am able to keep doing what i was able to do before. I stopped riding due to heart problems not E. I had a great deal of trouble riding only on the flats with little effort. I simply tend to jump to ride with the fastest and the old ticker doesn't want me going there anymore. My work on the farm i can do as it is not as much of a burden on my heart.

Hugs,

Charlize

In eight years on estrogen and anti-androgen, I haven't noticed the slightest reduction in my strength, stamina or recovery rate from exertion. That surprises me...but at nearly 73 years of age, I accept it with gratitude.

For me, HRT (19 months injectable Es) + exercise = Magic. I've done the same routines since before I started, my upper body strength definately reduced, but the rest seems great, if not even better stamina for yard work, biking and walking, my blood pressure stays around 114 / 72, weight steady, I sleep well, I think it looks better this way, and it keeps getting better....

I can't remember when the effects appeared, but they've been pretty significant. I've noticed some upper body strength loss, but the big change -much to my dismay- has been a significant loss in aerobic capacity.

Within 6 months to 8 months, my upper body strength took a dive, my leg strength is less too, but mostly upper. At close to 20 months, definitely less strength, but more mental resolve and focus :)
