Hey everyone,

I went to see the new Godzilla last night. I was definitely skeptical going in. I hated the 1998 American version, so I was hoping they wouldn't ruin Godzilla again for me. Well, I wasn't disappointed. If you are a fan of the original Japanese versions of Godzilla then you will love the new one. I don't want to spoil it for anyone, so all I am going to say is this...Go See It!

I remember being absolutely terrified of Godzilla after I watched the 1998 film when it came out (I was about 7 then...). Yet I was fascinated by it and set myself a Godzilla screensaver on the home computer!

I'm in two minds about going to see it. I'm tempeted mostly for nostalgia reasons, I liked the film back then and it's part of my childhood. On the other hand, it's not the type of film I normally go for and don't like the idea of giving myself frights for two hours...

Yeah I went and saw this yesterday too, Reallly liked it was fun.

I mostly loved a crazy takeoff that Dave Chapell did on his show. I may see the new version but am not certain.

I'm going to date myself again, and note that I grew up watching (and loving) the first American version of "Godzilla," staring Raymond Burr. I was only a youngster, and it scared the crap out of me. There was also something quaint and amusing about the bad dubbing of the Japanese actors.

I haven't watched any of the franchise since, but I think I'll see this one, just for kicks. Thanks for the reviews.
