a trip to the therapist

Hi,

I know it's probably not big news for many of you to go to the therapist, but for me it's kind of an adventure.

The city is 3 hours away, so that alone makes it an exciting day. People that live in small towns can probably relate.

I am kind of restricted here in going out during the day, as me, because so many people know me and it's just too risky with my job. So being able to go to the city and go shopping again, as me of course, and maybe eat out and simply go for a walk in the park, are all something to look forward to. I'm getting excited already.

Last Sunday, I had a similar adventure with the trans meeting. It turned out to be such a great day.

Plus, I have some issues I need to express with a professional. I'm kind of in a confused state right now.

Nervous, but optimistic :)

There is often nothing like a change of scene, even for a few hours, to clear out the cobwebs!

Have a great day Faith :)

Sounds like an adventure, Faith, and I love an adventure. Have a wonderful time, and I hope that your therapy session is beneficial.

I'm so happy for you Faith! :) It is always a good day when we can spend time as ourselves. I do hope that you have a safe trip, and that you have lots of fun shopping. :D

I hope you have a wonderful trip into the city, Girl. :friends:

A 3 hour drive is a nice day trip for most of us, in The Great White North. ;)

I wish you a successful consult with your care giver and find what you seek sooner rather than later.

Sounds like you will have a bonus on you trip with your shopping excursion. :D

A trip away from home can be a wonderful relief by itself.

:ThanxSmiley: Someday we'll maybe meet in Toronto and do some shopping together Joann.

I guess a 3 hour drive in Canada really is nothing at all :) Of course you have the three hours going back home as well.

I'll let you know the next time I'm in the GTA for a major shop, Faith.<giggle>

Agreed, it is usually the return trip which is a downer.

Then again, there's the trunk full of new clothes!

I'm sure you are excited. I know i always looked forward to seeing my gender therapist. Each visit was an opportunity to open up and after each i was somehow more comfortable. there was always something to think about on the drive home. My therapist was only 1 1/2 hours from home. Oddly at this point in this journey i'm on each day seems to revolve around driving. A 3 hr drive seems a short run, but 6 is certainly tiring. Treat yourself to a simple dinner.

Hugs,

Charlize

Well yesterday didn't work like I wanted to. I met a guy and started talking and he was wanting to be in a relationship. I asked my kids on how they thought of me dating a man and they said gross and said no. I guess it's time to look for women. I think that is going to be harder. Oh well I guess.

This topic reminds me of the lyrics to the Beatles song, "A Little Help From My Friends."   "What do you see when you turn out the lights?"   "I can't tell you but I know it's mine."   Carolyn Marie

@Ivy have you read the actual document?   Has anyone else out there read it?
    • Abigail Genevieve
I am reading the Project 2025 document https://www.project2025.org/policy/   This will take some time.  I read the forward and I want to read it again later.   I read some criticism of it outside here and I will be looking for it in the light of what has been posted here and there.  Some of the criticism is bosh.   @MaeBe have you read the actual document?

      *older, not holder, oops :P

      No problem!

Old topic, but I gotta say my favorites are: "Stop hitting on minors" (doesn't work if you're holder tho) and "Sure as [squid] not you"

Abigail, I think we will just leave the other posts where they are, and the discussion can start anew here.  It is possible to do what you ask, but would disrupt the flow of the discussion in the other thread, and would require more work than it's worth.   Carolyn Marie

I am in too good a mood to earn my certificate today. I am sure something will happen that will put me on the path to earning it.

It's likely most cis-women consider a fitting unnecessary "because they know what  they wear" and get used to the wrong size.  The instructions for what your size is are simple and why go to any further effort?  You measure your bandsize and you measure your max and subtract the two to get the needed info for the cup size.  Then you buy the same size for years until it hurts or something.

Congratulations Lorelei! Yes, it is a powerful feeling to have the documents that say "you are you".

Here is space for discussion on this, since the topic is large and could derail another thread SOMEBODY started.   Could some dear, sweet, kind Moderator pull everything related to this from the Voting for Trump thread and put it here?  I don't know if you can do that; I am the new girl on the block after all (blinks sweetly).
