Has anyone tried Ipsy?

Has anyone tried Ipsy? According to their site (ipsy.com), you can sign up for $10 a month and each month they send you a few recommended products to try. I don't remember if you get trial sizes or full sizes but it comes in a really cute little makeup bag and from what I understand, the items are tailored to you based on a short quiz you take when signing up (asking, like, your skin tone, or what products you love, or what brands you like, etc..etc..)

So yeah, I was just wondering if any of you have tried it.

In a way, it kind of takes a little bit of stress out if you're not full-time yet, either, because the makeup comes to you instead of you having to go to the store to buy it (I know what it felt like to do that in boy-mode and how stressful it could be).

Also...yay makeup! :D

I hope it's fun and neato. I guess I'll find out next month...

Hey Lizzie! When I first came out to my daughter that was one of her suggestions to me ( after the initial adjustment). So your mention of it takes me back to that moment when I realized she does still love me! I am interested in trying it, so I will be reading the replies. My daughter said " it's really nice to get some fun things each month, like a present to yourself"!

Safe travels!

Jamie

Well, my January bag is sitting at home waiting for me, and I think by the time I do get home, February's bag will be waiting at home, too. Through the ipsy website I've been able to see what is in my bag, I just can't wait to get home to actually try some of these products out.

(then from what I understand, to better customize your monthly bag they ask you to rate/review what you've received in each bag so I have that to do either when I'm home or shortly after I leave back out on the road again)

Here's a pic of what my January bag contained:

That bag looks very lady trucker to me! Fun!

And the bags change every month, too! I really wanted December's bag because it looked super cute, but oh well.

Now that looks like fun!!!

Do they give you tips too?

Goodness knows I could use a whole lot of tips

Not really. They do have a few girls who post how-to videos for certain looks and stuff. The way some of these ladies do eyeshadow is incredible!

I am an Ipsy subscriber and I love getting the little samples and a new bag to try each month.

What's really nifty is that a couple items each month are full-size products and if you search online you find out...they're not exactly cheap!

Plus...cute little versatile bags that can be used for stuff other than makeup! :D

February's Ipsy bag!

This month was a much cuter bag! Inside...um..well,

There's an eyelash curler that I most likely won't use because I already have one I don't use.

Next is a Volumizing Spray I won't use because my hair has no problem with volume naturally.

After that is some kind of radiance oil that can be used alone or under moisturizer. I'm not quite sure what it does. I've tried it a few times and haven't really noticed anything different?

Next to that is a lip gloss two of my friends cannot stand, so I'm probably not going to touch that one.

Lastly is a blush that is identical to the NARS blush I already have, but it doesn't have the shimmer that NARS has, it's more of a matte blush. It's okay but I prefer a little shimmer on my cheeks in the blush department.

..but the bag is cute! :)

It certainly could be classed as dark humor.  Unfortunately the sentiments alone must hurt young trans folks.  Decency and reality doesn't seem to be in the GOP's vocabulary.   Hugs,   Charlize

Good morning all,    It’s a frosty morning here the lawn looks silvery, and the uncovered spring flowers have icy edges on their leaves. The only flower bed I covered was my tulips. As nice as it is here during the day, our clear wind free nights allow the temperatures to drop into the mid twenties. Here in our growing zone it’s recommended that you not plant delicate plants until Mother’s Day. Central Indiana can have snow as late as the third week of May. The birds are active at the feeders, I’ve had my cup of yoghurt and morning meds. So I’ll sit here, drink coffee and watch the as the sunrise chases the frost from the yard.    @awkward-yet-sweet I could eat black eyed peas as a side for every meal. Boil them plain or with fatback. Served as a leftover, just add in a little Rotel Original Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies.  Make the best of your day,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Morning, y'all. Evening here; we had the regulation three mugs full today. Now it's time to drink something else.     No big plans here either, eldest daughter and granddaughter will be arriving on Saturday, and we will have our granddaughter to ourselves for a week after that. We still have plans though. Tuesday we'll go to the swim center, Wednesday we'll take a road trip to visit my mom, Thursday we'll get some mulch delivered to top up the gardens.   I still make other small plans on a daily basis though. The things I do plan nowadays, which is a bit new for me, is that after pinching a nerve and ending up in a bit of pain and getting some treatment from the physio, I am more motivated than ever to exercise more regularly. Tuesday for example, I went for a short (15 minute) early morning walk, went to the pool for some hydrotherapy, and mowed the lawns. Yesterday I did my exercise reps and spent some time on the exercise bike. Today, I went for a 45-minute walk, tomorrow I will do my reps again and go for a long bike ride. As long as I do at least one thing every day, right? The pleasing thing is that I'm losing weight! I blew out to above 95kg early in the year and I'm just under 91kg now. Yay me!

Positive side of the mixed bag.

Boredom is an emotional state that comes when a person has nothing to do, and is not interested in anything. To stop boredom, most people do something to occupy or amuse themselves. The first known use of the word boredom is in the novel Bleak House by Charles Dickens, written in 1852, but the saying to be a bore had been used to mean "to be tiresome or dull" since 1768. When referring to the mind, boredom is a bad state in which the person feels a deep lack of interest in what is going on around them, and where it is hard to focus.
