Breast Forms

Hi everyone. Ok, so I have been on HRT for many, many years and still only have a small A cup breast size. I started transition late in life and I was on a pretty high dose of Estradiol. Had to go off my estrogen for 4 months recently due to the chemotherapy I was going through, will be going back on this month when I see my endo next week. My question is for those that have small breasts like myself, do you wear breast forms? If so, how in the world do you keep them in place? I bought some foam breast forms recently and they slide all over, not attractive when you have to reach down your dress to adjust them. Just curious, thank you.

Hi Angelgrlsue, Look into what is called a pocket bra, also know as a mastectomy bra. They have pockets to hold your forms in place. I use them and I can run while wearing my forms without them sliding around too much. You can find great deals for them on EBay.

Allison

I still use silicone enhancers and use pocket bras. Our sponsor the breast form store carries them or you can google them. The best thing is that you can stand on your head and not get hit by sliding forms.

Thank you Allison and Charlize. I have decided to just embrace with what I have and not concern myself about the small stuff.

I still wear forms and I have no problem keeping them in place. I have silicone forms and they have a little weight to them so maybe that's the reason they stay put in my bra? I'm just guessing. I've never had a problem with them moving around. I've been fitted, too, so I'm wearing the correct size bra for what I have. :)

Some of the higher quality forms can also be glued in place using medical adhesive. Also, some forms are naturally adhesive and stick in place pretty well. I have all in all, seven pairs, four full breast forms and three pairs of enhancers. It takes time to see what works best for you.

I have silicone enhancers and actual breast forms from my CD days, and they stay pretty well put on my two "B's" since they have concave backs and almost vacuum onto the girls. A product called "It Stays" is a light water based gel type adhesive that washes off you and the forms easily takes care of the rest of the issues. (I have been on HRT for close to 6 years now.).

OK, Fiona. l accept that "it takes time to see what works best for you." With your experience could you please help me cut that time down a little. Leaving what material, with or without adhesives for later, what size? I have to admit that I am not where Angelgrlsue is, though I did smile upon reading her comment.

I'll try to help you sweetie, but consider the fact that I don't know anything about you.

1) What is your band size?

2) What's your height & weight? (sorry girly, it's relevant when selecting breasts)

3) Do you consider your overall frame size to be large, medium or small?

4) do you want to stand out or blend into a crowd?

Beware that forms tend to have around the same mass (weight) as real breasts. If choosing larger forms (size D and above), because of their weight the bra may require a wider band with more clips, and possibly underwire. Bras for larger breasts tend to have to be tighter to hold the breasts from bouncing too much. Consider your comfort, or discomfort, when wearing them for long periods of time. I have medical adhesive that I truly haven't had the opportunity to try, so I cant yet comment other to say that the girls I know that have used the adhesive say that it works quite well.

Size B is a nice all around size for a typically sized girl. A size C is a little more frisky and size D and above can make a real statement. I'm a pretty large girl (5' 10", 230lbs but I'm working on getting down to 180lbs to 200lbs, already losst 30lbs). Either way I'm a fairly large girl and typically wear a Size D that seems to look good on me according to the limited number of people that have seen me or my photos.

I do have a size B that I wear sometimes when i don't feel well or am busy around the house. However, I try to always wear my preferred size (D) because a woman really doesn't get to change her breast size.

FYI, I finally took some photos that I like and am finally feeling better about my self so I will be posting a few pics today.

Good luck, honey. I'll be looking for your response.

Fiona has some pretty good info. I just wanted to touch on this part.

Your breast size should be in proportion to your body frame. If you're more petite, B would look more appropriate than a larger size.

If you're about average, C would most likely work.

If you're a bigger girl, then a larger size would look better on your frame, like a D.

Now with that, should you choose larger breast forms, adhesives may not work as well because of the weight associated with them. Adhesive can keep lighter forms in place but not so much heavier forms.

I'm pretty sure The Breast Form Store has some info about choosing an appropriate form, both size and material. Since they can be a bit of an investment, take some time to really look through your options before deciding on a pair. Some forms aren't returnable so you want to make sure you choose the right form for you. :)

Thanx, Lizzy. I just wanted to point out that for at least the larger sizes, the adhesive isn't really to allow you to go braless, but to hold them snug to you while wearing a bra in an effort to keep them from moving and shifting. The non-adhesive style can shift a bit and can be a tad annoying. I know when I use the adhesive style, it's very nice to have them feel as a part of you. And yes, forms can be as little as a couple hundred for a decent set all the up to $1500, depending on quality and size, perhaps even more...

Forms can be really cheep to I'm wearing my only set right now there gell filled silicon c cup I got off of ebay for 30 bucks now they don't match my skin color there tear dropped shaped and the self adhesive part is long gone but as a m2f transgender on a very tight budget there's no way I could shell out over 100 for a good set at this time. Frankly money wise i'm in no position to do this but im tired of living life as is I need to transition. At Least they way i see it it will be a year before I finally present myself to the world as Rylie.

As an alternative, I would just like to point out that women come in all shapes and sizes. With that in mind and the fact that I am not into large boobs I just use a medium padded bra that is available via the internet in my size (aaa / aaaa cup). This does give me a feminine look without the hassle of forms. In essence a woman with small boobs. The supplier I use caters for women (there is no mention of transexuals).

I have used small (bikini) pads in the past but have now relegated them principlally to swimsuits (looking forward to summer and the beach :) ).

Sone really great info here, I am a large frame with a thick chest and was fitted with D cups. They do offset my chest and shoulder size and give a nice proportionate look. I went with the better forms from the page sponser and after a year they are holding up wonderfully. Folks are impressed with how natural they look as well.

I was wondering if anyone made a really soft breast form that actually felt like a real breast?  The only ones I ever tried were really firm and not very realistic.  It was nice to have some weight up front but I was disappointed with the firmness.  I have many things I don't like about my body (don't we all - CIS women included) but I do have a fairly small frame and would only need a modest cup size.  Any ideas?

The site here used to be sponsored by a Canadian company called The Breast Form Store and they have a variety of forms.  Now that I have my own poor beat up boobs, I will say categorically that NONE of the forms I ever found really approached their feel as to softness, and mine are still reasonably firm for my age.  This link is to BFS and you might at least check out their wares.  You can make home made forms, and for some it is part of the fun.  I know there are "how to posts" on the forums here.

Thanks Vicky - I'll see if I can find the DIY info as the BFS ones look similar to the ones I tried before. I've experimented with things before but none of my ham-fisted efforts were very successful.

I have two sets of forms one is plastic and fairly firm. The second I got from the breast form store and they are softer and feel comfortable. A full coverage underwire bra helps hold things pretty well with the glue. Also I just got a sports bra with some molded cup inserts works well. I hope you find something that works for you.

I wish I could help. I did find a company who use to make a soft closer to real feeling and looking prosthetics, and I loved them. But they stopped making them.? They were more expensive and they didn't last as long. I guess that they just didn't sell as well as the cheaper firm ones. I lanent.?

I have far too many breast forms that I'll never even use again. Most from the Breastform store (and I love those girls, they really work with you).

I have some PALS. They can be slept, roughhoused, even cut and modified should you so desire. They do not feel real. They don't even feel half as good as just about any silicone forms.

Silicone forms, I have a couple different makes, and my favorites are the Gold Seal at the breast form store. I even have a pair of crazy expensive forms, nothing like silicone.

As you already know, shouldn't sleep in them or ever put a large amount of pressure on them. I never really found the need to attch as I always picked a well fitting bra.

(why do I have so much stuff? because I underestimated my feelings, for a very long time)

Good luck, hon

Love it! This is great news. We need more of this to combat the excessive hate-filled rhetoric and misinformation. 👍

The experience was the same for me @April Marie. I slept much deeper and I woke up each morning feeling so much more restful sleeping with forms solidly in place. For me, wearing breast forms at night started when before I was a teenager. I had no access up to modern breast forms and certainly no way to buy mastectomy bras back then. I wore a basic bra my mom had put in a donation box and two pairs of soft cotton socks. I have some crazy memories of things I did in my youth to combat my GD but regardless, these makeshift concoctions helped me work through it all.   All My Best, Susan R🌷

Colorado isn't exactly a Republican place, and won't become one anytime soon.  I think those folks might be better off not spending their time playing Don Quixote.    We certainly have our share of California "refugees" moving into where I live, so I wouldn't be surprised to start seeing Coloradans too.  I suspect the trend over the next few years will see the blue areas getting more blue and the red areas getting more red as anybody who can relocate tries to find a place where they fit better.

Well, at least it'll be a place some folks could choose.  Options are a good thing.

My family would have gobbled that jar up in a minute or two.  When we do have pickled herring, its usually for Christmas.  I didn't grow up with that particular dish, but I grew up in a Greek family so I like just about any kind of fish if I can get it.  However, ocean fish and freshwater fish taste so different.  We usually have more catfish and tilapia to eat than anything else.    What I can't quite get used to is the tons of cabbage my GF insists on eating.  When you live with a Russian, there is always cabbage soup.  Always.  When I first moved in with her, breakfast was "shchi" for soup and either bread or "kasha" which is a bowl of boiled buckwheat with butter and salt.  Those dishes can be made in any number of ways, some are better than others.  In the winter, it can even be salty and sour like kraut.  Not exactly sauerkraut, but packed in tubs with vinegar and salt so it keeps partially for the winter.  But I drew the line when the cabbage soup included pieces of fried snake one day.  😆

Good evening to you as well @Mmindy   That is awesome that you have support from her side. My dad has communicated with me once and that was because he was forced to. His new wife wanted to spend time with my kids. He hated me so much he was in the process of taking my rights away as a parent to my two boys. He was talking to a lawyer and I called him out on it. I don't love him at all. I'll respect him because I wouldn't be here without him but I wished I had another father. My uncles don't talk to me and unfriended me on Facebook. Almost all cousins except for two are still Facebook friends but they don't give me any support. My mom said she won't support me with that but she has said that she loves me. I have nieces and nephews that are still Facebook friends but they have yet to talk to me. I have one sister that supports me out of three. The other's disrespect me by deadnaming me. They have never called me their sister. I think for them they think it's still a phase. They don't ask questions about me being trans. I have to bring it up and on the look of their faces they don't look comfortable about it.

Good evening @Ashley0616,   I just got offline with HP tech support trying to get my printer tool box icon locked to my tool bar. This is one of the most important features of my printer that I like because it keeps track of ink, paper, and scanned documents. I'm diffidently not a computer geek.   I'll catch up with the other bookmarks next week. We leave to go home for the Easter Holiday with our families. Saturday with her side, and Sunday with my side. What's odd about that is I'm out to more of her side and they're reluctantly supportive. My side on the other hand are less supportive, and my sister just under me in age will not acknowledge my being there. She will be constantly moving to keep from dealing with me. I'm dead to her.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I used to follow baseball and the team I would cheer for is Boston Red Sox. My favorite player was Papi. He was an awesome guy and even held a child during the National Anthem. I haven't watched baseball for a long time. It just died off to me.

That stinks that nothing transferred, and no bookmarks were saved!

I'm doing patches for now but I think soon I'll go to shots because it's hard to alternate when you are doing two xx patches at once. Unless she gives me Estradiol and progesterone

My view is we are "dependent" on government, because as a society, we are too lazy to stay actively involved. So, we let politicians do our bidding for us.  I think we'd be in a better place government wise if we policed the actions of our politicians.  We elected them; they work for us.  Sadly, we are allowing them to run amok.  We are where we are because we have chosen to let politicians make all decisions without us.  Remember "by the people, for the people?" That was the intent of our democracy.  Today, however, it is "by the politicians, for the politicians," the people be damned.

"Play Ball! Batter Up!" is the closing line of the National Anthem as far as I'm concerned. It's the call of the Home Plate Umpire and signals the start of the game. I grew up in the TV and Radio broadcast of the St. Louis Cardinals. Harry Caray, Jack Buck, Tim McCarver, and Mike Shannon, were the voices on my transistor radio. KMOX 1120 AM pushing 50,000 watts of Class A clear-channel non-directional signal. It could be picked up all across MO, IL, IN to the East. KS, OK, CO to the West. IA, MN to the North, and KY, TN, AR to the South. There has always been a rivalry against the Chicago Cubs, in the National League. As for the American League, I have to pull for the Kansas City Royals. I've also been a Little League Umpire, and fan of everything the Little League stands for. Going to Williamsport, PA and seeing the Little League World Series is in my top 10 things to do on my bucket list.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Good evening everyone,   I don't think my mother ever cooked a meal that I didn't like. We also had a kitchen where mom fixed the food, dad filled your plate, and you eat it. It wasn't until our baby brother was born that we could have Pop-Tarts for snacks. Before that all snacks had to meet mom's approval, and in her opinion wouldn't prevent you from eating supper.   Well my day started off on a good note, but has become frustrating because my IT person didn't transfer my saved videos I use for teaching. Then I found out that they didn't save any of my book marks for websites I use frequently.   Best wishes, stay motivated,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

The number is relative to method of deliver, the time of the dose, and when the blood is drawn. However, I do want to keep away from DVT and other potential issues. I assume I may be getting backed down from my current dose, but my doc told me to stick with the higher dose, so? I also wonder if this has anything to do the my breast growth and mental changes that have been happening over the past few years, like I have some estrogen sensitivity so a little goes a long way or something? I don't have enough data to postulate, but who knows!   With weekly, subcutaneous, shots you expect to see big swings of serum level estradiol from shot to peak to trough. My doctor is interested in mid-week testing (for E and T levels only), which would be post-peak blood serum levels but they will be higher than trough. Most, if not all, resources I've seen online is to measure at trough (which I might do just to do it next time) along with a SHBG, LH, and other metrics.   This is from transfemscience.org for Estradiol valerate in oil, which is very spiky compared to some other estradiol combinations. It's also for intramuscular, which will have a slower uptake and is usually dosed in higher volume due to the slower absorption rate from muscles. They don't have subcutaneous numbers, which I would expect to see similar spikes but higher levels at similar doses due to the relatively higher absorption rate direct from fat.   Are you doing pills, shots, or patches? And when you do get your levels checked are you getting that done when your levels are lowest or some other time?
