of what people think a young girl should be,

life can be so hard. It can be so cold

as you hide your true self. You can’t be free.

Nightmares rage in the dark. Will the pain end?

Will you forever lie, wear painted smiles?

It makes you wonder how far you can bend

before you break after too many miles.

When you are so tired of drowning in fears,

Death’s open arms are a comforting sight.

After spending so many hours in tears,

you want to give up, relinquish the light.

Yet as you bow down hopeless at Death’s door,

soothing, friends say you are alone no more.
