Thinking about Surgery

I'm thinking about getting SRS. I was looking at this spreadsheet; since I don't fly, that leaves someone in Philadelphia or Montreal. Thankfully, due to Cuomo's executive order (and a provision in my insurance allowing me to request in-network coverage for out-of-network providers), cost shouldn't be a big issue as well. I'm also trying to save up as much vacation and sick leave as I can. Trouble is, I'm not sure where to go from here. I somehow need to get letters from therapists (except I haven't seen anyone in a while, so I'm not sure how many sessions this would require; thankfully I have both the person I got my HRT letter from over Skype and the person I was seeing locally for other reasons but is qualified to write the letter). So... where do I go from here? I'm kinda lost and don't know how to move forward... doesn't help that my transition has been stalled for two years now.

I would first contact the doctors you are thinking about doing the surgery and see what they require as well as researching how their patients feel about the results. You should also try to find out which insurances each will accept.

I would also contact both of your therapists. i found i only needed to see my therapist one more time for the required paperwork and she recommended another therapist who i met with once as well. By then i'd been living full time for a good bit of time.
