we all need to get out and vote or everything that we have gained can be lost. There are those who are waiting in the wings to legally attack all court decisions that have benefitted gays and trans.

I hadn't been planning to partake in any onslaughts, but I guess I've been drafted. Wouldn't it be nice if the good Reverend sought out a trans person or two to have a conversation; not a prayer meeting, not to proselytize, not to condemn, just to have a dialogue, and find out what we're all about. I don't think it would change his mind, but at least it would open it up just a crack to let some sunshine in. But he doesn't believe he needs to learn anything. God has told him all he needs to know. *sigh*

Thanks Mike for the heads up, and I will be voting this year.

I noticed that link you provided in the post above is kept on the domain cnsnews.com, wut's this ?

Clicking on links from this domain, is like tuning in to the bigot channel on the Internet

It's really the propaganda arm of conservatives, and they are quite the anti women's reproductive rights, anti gay, anti trans, spin machine. .

Their self professed motto "The Right News. Right now."

My two cents' worth in the "Comments" section:

No, what's "ridiculous" is your misrepresentation of what it means to be transgender. Whether your ignorance of the subject is willful or not, couching it in terms of morality encourages your followers to marginalize and demonize a group of their fellow human beings who have done nothing whatsoever to warrant such treatment. I'm a lifelong Christian, and it pains me to say that despite all the good you may do in other areas, this is nothing short of reprehensible behavior.

I didn't wake up one day to decide I wanted to be a woman any more than he woke up one day to decide he wanted to be a self righteous fear mongering butt hole!

He is the one that has made a choice! He has chosen hated over Godliness. He has chosen his tools of decisiveness, infliction of immorral emotional pain, not to promote God's love, but to attempt to corruptly elevate himself.

The only evidence that can be seen in him that he only trusts in God, is his self appointment that he can play God, above all biology, science and compassion.

How much louder can he scream eradication?

Sigh...

This is what is wrong with evangelical christianity. And to think I supported his charity, Samaritans Purse, in a relief effort. And World Vision, another charity was trying to get a "religious exemption" for their discrimination. (I still sponsor a child, not her fault the organization needs a clue) And my former church, a Vineyard, is hosting a 4 part series on LGBT issues...hosted by a "former gay", who is sharing "recovery".

Like Gandi said, I love this Jesus, but not so much his people, for they are not much like Jesus. I am going to quit using the label christian and go with Christ follower.

But, there is some light- the Episcopalian church has been very accepting, even taking heat lately from the worldwide Anglican communion over their pro-LGBT stance. And Bishop Gene Robinson wrote this piece on welcoming trans folk:

Thank you for sharing. That piece from Gene Robinson is so very affirming. Reading that one could easily be a Christian.

As a relate aside......I get a kick out of those who propose that this was founded as a "christian" country as if that somehow would stop inner strife. The understanding of any religious group varies from one extreme to the other. We see it in Islam, Christianity and Buddhism. Somehow the message of the founder is so often lost and a higher power is pushed aside for very sectarian reasons. Pity harmony doesn't seem to exist but perhaps that is simply the human condition. I can only try to live my life. Trying to control others is way beyond me and would only end in further difficulty. I'll never be queen of the forest and that is a good thing.

Hugs,

Charlize

Elvis swayed his hips, girls started to not need to wear a dress to go to a school dance and of all things showed their shoulders. This is the reason of Major moral decay they said, as they slaped their Son's on the shoulder when they saw them off to a (no win) war in the 60,s. I always thought (in this case) the moral decay started with the politicians of the time and not someone stepping out of the social norm. NOTE: I was proud of the soldiers though. I love Jesus and follow him for many reasons, one being, "For God so loved the world he gave his one and only son, that WHOEVER believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" NIV. I say this not to get preachy but to point out the word "WHOEVER" gets so qualified by people claiming to lead for the Lord. To say, I just got one day and decided to be Sarah so I could walk in a woman's restroom and let my jollies get satisfied sounds like bearing false witness against me, and last l checked that's in the 10 commandments

Charlize, I think of it as someone trying to "butt in" in between or in place of the higher power. Trying to grab more power for themselves, in a scarcity worldview. And whoever wants to be queen of the forest is seriously deluded or a true goddess to commit to that level of sacrifice!

Sarah, I love it when people try to quote the "male and female God created them". I just say yes! It's not male or female...

One of my mentors just got this on his own the other day, and he came to class one day with that new realization. He thanked me for my opening up and talking,

And I got this today, it says it better than I can. From Richard Rohr's daily meditations

For much of Christian history we've severely limited people's in-depth experience of God by making religious faith largely into a set of mental abstractions. We split the mind from the body and both of them from the spirit. Many of us are now victims of not knowing how to receive, access, enjoy, suffer, and appreciate what can only be known in its wholeness. No wonder so many have left the church, doubt the truth of Christianity, become practical materialists inside the church (including many clergy) or agnostics and atheists outside the church (including many who are actual "believers"). I am not sure which is sadder. What they seem to affirm or seem to reject is too often not the real thing anyway. As wise Augustine said in the 4th century, "God has many that the church does not have; and the church has many that God does not have." Any who put body and spirit together are already "had" by God! They are privileged to "carry in their bodies the very brand marks of Jesus" (Galatians 6:17).

I for one am really diggin my newfound wholeness. Peace to all.

thanks for the thread Mike- If you're ever down to this part of the state...

I'm a Christian and hating anyone is not Christian in any way. Many TGLBQ people want nothing to do with church or the bible because of this evil vitriol. It is important that we fight for the rights we've so hard for.

Good morning, all!!! Cloudy today with some light rain coming. Not a day to work outside.   I will vacuum the house and the head out to our local hardware store after I get cleaned up. Time to buy a new bird feeder for the back porch.   I'm sorry the job didn't work @KymmieL! Hang in there.   It sounds like a busy time for you at work @Willow. Finding reliable people is so hard these days.   Time for another cup of coffee before I start cleaning!!   Enjoy this beautiful day we've been given.

Nostalgia is an emotion. It is the feeling of enjoying events from the past. People with nostalgia will often look at or use old things that they were familiar with years ago. This is because people feel more connected to those past times that they enjoyed, usually because it reminds them of how long it has been since they last connected to such past times. Examples where people may have the feeling of nostalgia includes watching old TV shows, using old technology that was very enjoyable, and playing with toys that you played with as a child. These memories are usually misleading, and can make someone wish that they could be young again, even if their childhood was mediocre. Human brains often leave out boring or bad memories, which can cause incorrect feelings about their childhood.

CAT FACTS A cat's jaw cannot move sideways. The only domestic animal not mentioned in the Bible is the cat   A house cat’s genome is 95.6 percent tiger, and they share many behaviors with their jungle ancestors, says Layla Morgan Wilde, a cat behavior expert and the founder of Cat Wisdom 101. These behaviors include scent marking by scratching, prey play, prey stalking, pouncing, chinning, and urine marking. Cats are believed to be the only mammals who don’t taste sweetness. Cats are nearsighted, but their peripheral vision and night vision are much better than that of humans. Cats are supposed to have 18 toes (five toes on each front paw; four toes on each back paw). Cats can jump up to six times their length. Cats’ claws all curve downward, which means that they can’t climb down trees head-first. Instead, they have to back down the trunk. Cats’ collarbones don’t connect to their other bones, as these bones are buried in their shoulder muscles. Cats have 230 bones, while humans only have 206. Cats have an extra organ that allows them to taste scents on the air, which is why your cat stares at you with her mouth open from time to time. Cats have whiskers on the backs of their front legs, as well. Cats have nearly twice the amount of neurons in their cerebral cortex as dogs. Cats have the largest eyes relative to their head size of any mammal. Cats make very little noise when they walk around. The thick, soft pads on their paws allow them to sneak up on their prey — or you! Cats’ rough tongues can lick a bone clean of any shred of meat. Cats use their long tails to balance themselves when they’re jumping or walking along narrow ledges. Cats use their whiskers to “feel” the world around them in an effort to determine which small spaces they can fit into. A cat’s whiskers are generally about the same width as its body. (This is why you should never, EVER cut their whiskers.) Cats walk like camels and giraffes: They move both of their right feet first, then move both of their left feet. No other animals walk this way. Male cats are more likely to be left-pawed, while female cats are more likely to be right-pawed. Though cats can notice the fast movements of their prey, it often seems to them that slow-moving objects are actually stagnant. Some cats are ambidextrous, but 40 percent are either left- or right-pawed. Some cats can swim. There are cats who have more than 18 toes. These extra-digit felines are referred to as being “polydactyl.”

Good morning,   I over slept yesterday was a couple minutes late clocking in.  But no breakfast or coffee.  Got caught up but it was go go go all morning.  I had to ask for a refresher on how I was to enter something but once I got a quick answer it came back to me.    @KymmieL sorry Ford didn’t work out.  We are always looking for good reliable people, I could get you a job here but the commute would be rough.  Today I have three audits to get done, plus other things during my shift on top of the regular things.  Since I am opening that puts me in the drivers seat.  The Asst Mgr comes in part way throuh my shift but she will have to handle customers while I do the work she would be doing if she opened. Tail wagging the dog.  Guess she’s getting punished for not following the Mgr’s requests.  They do tend to butt heads a lot.     Butting heads with people is a thing the Asst is known for.   @awkward-yet-sweet do you think just maybe this new graphics request was in the offing?  And why you were asked to go to work with your husband?  Obviously, he cares about you a lot and is trying to do things to help you.   speaking of meeting people @Adrianna Danielle we have a youngish customer who comes in frequently, I’d like to approach her but I’m just not certain yet.  She still dresses male but has long hair and early chest development.  My approach, if I ever decided I should would just be supportive but I really can’t be sure that is what is going on here or what and I would not want to make a big blunder if that’s not what he is doing.  A male with early teen boobs doesn’t want to be noticed.   well, I can’t be late again, I’ve got to leave now.  See you again later for afternoon tea and crumpets or scones. Mmm scones!   lol   Willow

Well, HIPAA is basically useless for keeping government out of your medical stuff.  It doesn't seem to prevent employers from making workplace medical demands either.  About the only thing it seems to do is keep somebody's sister or spouse from having the tools necessary to help you when you're in trouble.  As usual, government made things worse and added unhelpful red tape.  I really doubt HIPAA will be any use in the area of trans rights either.    Honestly, I don't see anything good will come of this no matter how it goes.  If some state AG's win on this, it will cause issues for trans folks.  If the Feds win on this, it'll be a precedent to stomp on states' rights even more than has already been done.  And I'm not sure which way things go will make a difference when it comes to officials from one state trying to do nasty things to people who have left that state and gone elsewhere.    What a crap sandwich... and no matter which plate it gets served on, "We The People" get to eat it.
