Hi Ladies,

I watched the documentary narrated by Katie Couric the other day, Gender Revolution, and found it very informative.  There seemed to be one thing missing in the discussion and that was there was no mention, unless I missed it, of cross dressing.

I have been doing a lot of thinking since I viewed the presentation about who I am and where I fall on the transgender spectrum.  I dress all the time but am not going to choose surgery.

Anyone else see the program?

Yes, I watched it, and thought it was very well done.  More in depth than many such programs, and I liked the way they focused on many different people with different backgrounds, and didn't just focus on a couple of celebrities (although there were a few of those - de rigeur in a show like this.

Unless I missed it, Couric didn't mention her disastrous interview with Carmen Carrera and so missed a chance to publicly apologize, but I guess the show in total served the same purpose.

Yes, she didn't include a segment on cross dressers, but bypassed a few other aspects of the trans community as well.  I even learned a lot myself, especially about the intersexed condition.

Same here, I enjoyed the show and learned more about gender identities.

Another show I enjoy watching that I find can be eye-opener (for me at least) is Gaycation with Ellen Paige (sorry for maybe misspelling her name).

Couric has already made public apologies to Carrera in other places, and this project was indeed part of  her penance for the earlier disaster. 

I have heard from a couple of friends who were involved in the program production, that Cross Dressing was deliberately left out so that attention would be on the emerging young childhood recognition of Trans* gender and emerging non-binary issues and not derailed by the pre-conceptions that cis people had about CDing.

I watched it and enjoyed it. I thought that it was very well done. Her inclusion of the intersex condition was a welcome addition to the program.

I've seen portions of it. I was most pleased that it appeared respectful and did not attempt to fetishize the subjects.
