When I first started going to AA meetings 38 years ago I didn't talk very.  Just an introduction.  I was shy and fearful, but a few of the old slogans were hanging on the wall across from where I sat.  The kept my attention for my first year.  Now, when I celebrate birthdays, across the bottom is written "TO THINE OWN SELF BE TRUE", a message that always reminds me of me acceptance regardless of my journey.

Thank you for your share.  Glad you've joined us here.

I  have a coin hanging from my purse that says "TO THINE OWN SELF BE TRUE"on one side and "FREEDOM TO BE ME" on the other.  It took me some time in sobriety before i found that freedom and the peace that comes with it.
