My first Electrolysis Appointment.

Two hours of electrolysis yesterday, my first time. 1f631.png?

I truly don't know how the others do that for hours on end. Wow. I must be a big big baby!!

Upper lip you ask? (Trust me, you asked!!)

1f635.png? imagine yanking out a ton of nose hairs, one right after the other.
Notice how your eyes uncontrollably flow tears? 1f62d.png?

That was my upper lip 1f62d.png?.
She said she only does 10-15 min there because it's that bad. I was absolutely thrilled to agree with her 1f602.png? these are laughing tears. Yeah, I had to convince myself as well. Lol

She asked me when I thought I might want to come back? I said "probably a month, if I've recovered by then lol".

My wife voiced an interest, she has a few pesky hairs too!
She'll probably laugh and say "that was nothing". Lol

We shall see bwahahahahaha

What was it like for me? Where she started on the chin was no big deal, but as she left that area, I started to feel it more and more. I won't even cover the upper lip, LOL. I must have really zoned out at some point because when she was done with the two hours, I thought it had been less than an hour. I'm missing some time. It is kinda like getting a tiny momentary bee sting. Over and over. Yes, tattoos are far worse, but the accumulative effect for me was a bit rougher because of my neck problem. But I'll go back :)

Thanks for the chuckle Fiona.  The upper lip IS a bearcat!  When I had a similar reaction after my first go at electrolysis, a friend of mine commented that she actually kinda liked the feeling.  WHAT???  I thought she was masochist!  For the first couple months (I go weekly for 90 minutes) I had to consciously relax my body every 5-10 minutes because I'd tense up all over.  Eventually, I grew accustomed to it and now I just lay there and take it, all the while visiting with my electrologist.  It's kind of a metaphor for transition isn't it?  It's painful and it's slow but one by one, step by step we get where we need to be.  "It will get better"  ...Geez, do we ever stop saying that to each other?

Thanks again for the smile, I needed that!

You're very welcome. She was fun, but I couldn't really visit too much cause the was focusing around my mouth. Like it? Wow, we all sense things differently. HAHA

And yeah, whether physical or emotional pain, yeah, it's there. As for tensing up, yep, I do that with ink and this. I had to keep relaxing as well. however, with my neck issue, that tensing ended up wearing me down pretty fast. I certainly wish I had the money to go that often. But I am getting a banging deal. they generally only work with trans people and charge a dollar a min. In her regular shop, they charge $110 an hour. So, I won't complain too much. LOL

I wish I was a candidate for facial LASER, but too many grey hairs. I've heard that the LASER feels like being popped with a rubber band Yikes!

I used to do two hours at a time but found the recovery time was too long before the next appointment rolled around a week later.  The good news, if there is any, is that the hair follicle around the lips is somewhat less painful as it is zapped multiple times until it is killed.  True to what I've read things have gotten rougher now that I've been on HRT for over a year.  Thankfully there is not much hair left around my lips.  I can still tolerate my cheeks and neck area.  People cringe when I explain electrolysis to them.  I say it just shows how dedicated and serious I am about transitioning.  I've been ding this for over a year and half.

It's important to keep going regularly so to get all your hair in the growth cycle where the follicle can be destroyed.

My wife tried it recently and could not get over how painful it was.  And she only had a few hairs to do.

I truly can't do this weekly, never mind the money, but she only currently works in my area on Wednesdays, I have to take a bit of time off work.

The follicles around my lips weren't less painful, they were more! Way more. Haha.

I've been seeing people cringe at a variety of the stuff we go through, sometimes it's kinda funny.

Thanx!

      No problem!

Old topic, but I gotta say my favorites are: "Stop hitting on minors" (doesn't work if you're holder tho) and "Sure as [squid] not you"

Abigail, I think we will just leave the other posts where they are, and the discussion can start anew here.  It is possible to do what you ask, but would disrupt the flow of the discussion in the other thread, and would require more work than it's worth.   Carolyn Marie

I am in too good a mood to earn my certificate today. I am sure something will happen that will put me on the path to earning it.

It's likely most cis-women consider a fitting unnecessary "because they know what  they wear" and get used to the wrong size.  The instructions for what your size is are simple and why go to any further effort?  You measure your bandsize and you measure your max and subtract the two to get the needed info for the cup size.  Then you buy the same size for years until it hurts or something.

Congratulations Lorelei! Yes, it is a powerful feeling to have the documents that say "you are you".

Here is space for discussion on this, since the topic is large and could derail another thread SOMEBODY started.   Could some dear, sweet, kind Moderator pull everything related to this from the Voting for Trump thread and put it here?  I don't know if you can do that; I am the new girl on the block after all (blinks sweetly).

I will have arrived when I have a b*tch certificate of my own.  I think someone called me one once.

Good morning everyone,   It’s Thursday well as least I took my Thursday Medications as sorted out in my weekly dispensary caddy. Today’s coffee is Folgers Breakfast Blend served HOT, black and strong. My wife and I are going to explore the Western and Southern coasts of Saginaw Bay and hang out in Bay City, MI. today.    @Willowonce @Abigail Genevievepointed out the word usage in your post. I read it and laughed, enjoying the snarky tone of the comment. Since it was spelled correctly I thought maybe you meant for it to read just as you typed it. Then the kinder gentler me thought it would be better if I changed it. I’m not saying I corrected it, I just changed the severity of the sentence.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
