I'm not sure that i could support her as so many of the things her party stand for are repugnant to me but i'd have to see her platform.  At least she would be a voice for trans* rights in her party.

Hugs,

No can do!  Jenner just turns my stomach.  I can't help but see everything she does as being decisive in some way.  Plus, I think it would be a total waste.  She had no real public appeal before...and less now.

Same here.  She has a stage to make a point and that is good but her party's basic tenants are counter to what I want in a politician.  Sorry but no thanks.

I can think of more appropriate candidates. It is my thought that she's doing this for sensationalism. Not for any civic pride.

Unless she moves to another state, her chance of success is nil.  I can't see Californians electing a Republican to the Senate.  Perhaps she can run for mayor of Malibu.  Gotta start somewhere, right?

My eyeballs are rolling like the wheels on a Las Vegas slot machine.  I hope they do not line up for a jackpot for her.  I have to speak with a more gracious tone toward her since she has made significant monetary donations to two Trans* organizations that I am connected with, and will attend one of their functions a month from now.  She had done this before though, and I am lucky that I was not in the fore ground with those of my friends she actually had contact with at them.  Will my luck hold out??  Only time will tell!!

Shelling out money to the "downtrodden" is an easy thing to do, and helps with her street cred.  In the end, though, its all about the benefit to her.  She doesn't do anything just for its own good, IMO.  I don't blame you for wanting to keep your distance, Vicky.

@Carolyn Marie  Actually, the two groups do not really fit the "downtrodden" image that possibly SHOULD be getting a chunk of her cash, but both of them do make their members aware of those members of our tribe and in their own ways work for the actual "social justice" end of things.  You are right that they do make for better press, but I do have my agenda as well, and if being gracious is necessary, I will be gracious to "old Nick" themself. I am not an apologist for her or excusing her and her ilk, but I have no time to be wasting on her otherwise with wrath and disgust.  As I said above about her presence in the same geographic coordinates that I am in --

She has no education in law;  and the Senate is the legislative branch.  Since she is dyslexic she cannot easily cram textbooks about law and politics.  I don't see how this can add value to our already under-functioning legislative branch.  People just think "Gee - if Al Frankin could go from Saturday Night Live into politics, I can do it too".  But Frankin has a degree from Harvard, and in fact was -an outer space experience- Laude with a Political Science major.   I guess the plus side is we would finally have a champion with a voice in Washington.  I'm conflicted on this.......

Caitlyn was at our Trans Chorus Of Los Angeles Concert tonight, and my luck held out.  I have still not been introduced to her.  It was a close call but she was hugging our choir director at the time I squeezed by them.

I feel the opposite way.  I view her as a woman that is worth $100 million,  is a motivational speaker to many of the Fortune 100's in America, and advocates for Trans rights.  I don't have any suggestions to give her that she could further share with these large corporations (that she hasn't already heard);  but if I did I would like her to be a conduit for my ideas.  I do know she pressures the people that hire her to give consideration and funding to their diversity program.   I know a lot of Trans women feel she is too rich and has too much white privilege to represent them;  but it's not like someone who cannot even scrape up bus fare is going to be able to orchestrate change among the C level employees of USA's major corporations.  Almost ever politician is a millionaire or multi-millionaire,  and yet people organize protests and whatnot to get their point across.  Does that help any more than someone who has the private cell phone numbers of most CEO's and Senators?  I don't think so.

It's kinda weird how these people are so worked up over making these laws.  They would have no effect on cis people either way.  Yet they are the ones with the obsession.  They ought to just stay out of trans people's business.

Bean burritos are still popular in my family.   Black eyed peas are the one legume I'm not fond of.  I need to add lots of onions. And of course always cook your pintoes with fat-meat.  And for y'all yankees, navy beans with a big ol' ham bone are hard to beat.

Seek out community, not just online but in person if possible. Making trans friends is a pretty quick and easy way to gauge if you have much in common with them.

It certainly could be classed as dark humor.  Unfortunately the sentiments alone must hurt young trans folks.  Decency and reality doesn't seem to be in the GOP's vocabulary.   Hugs,   Charlize

Good morning all,    It’s a frosty morning here the lawn looks silvery, and the uncovered spring flowers have icy edges on their leaves. The only flower bed I covered was my tulips. As nice as it is here during the day, our clear wind free nights allow the temperatures to drop into the mid twenties. Here in our growing zone it’s recommended that you not plant delicate plants until Mother’s Day. Central Indiana can have snow as late as the third week of May. The birds are active at the feeders, I’ve had my cup of yoghurt and morning meds. So I’ll sit here, drink coffee and watch the as the sunrise chases the frost from the yard.    @awkward-yet-sweet I could eat black eyed peas as a side for every meal. Boil them plain or with fatback. Served as a leftover, just add in a little Rotel Original Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies.  Make the best of your day,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Had a weird dream last night.

Morning, y'all. Evening here; we had the regulation three mugs full today. Now it's time to drink something else.     No big plans here either, eldest daughter and granddaughter will be arriving on Saturday, and we will have our granddaughter to ourselves for a week after that. We still have plans though. Tuesday we'll go to the swim center, Wednesday we'll take a road trip to visit my mom, Thursday we'll get some mulch delivered to top up the gardens.   I still make other small plans on a daily basis though. The things I do plan nowadays, which is a bit new for me, is that after pinching a nerve and ending up in a bit of pain and getting some treatment from the physio, I am more motivated than ever to exercise more regularly. Tuesday for example, I went for a short (15 minute) early morning walk, went to the pool for some hydrotherapy, and mowed the lawns. Yesterday I did my exercise reps and spent some time on the exercise bike. Today, I went for a 45-minute walk, tomorrow I will do my reps again and go for a long bike ride. As long as I do at least one thing every day, right? The pleasing thing is that I'm losing weight! I blew out to above 95kg early in the year and I'm just under 91kg now. Yay me!

What one piece of advice would you give to beginning transitioners or considering transition?

Positive side of the mixed bag.

Boredom is an emotional state that comes when a person has nothing to do, and is not interested in anything. To stop boredom, most people do something to occupy or amuse themselves. The first known use of the word boredom is in the novel Bleak House by Charles Dickens, written in 1852, but the saying to be a bore had been used to mean "to be tiresome or dull" since 1768. When referring to the mind, boredom is a bad state in which the person feels a deep lack of interest in what is going on around them, and where it is hard to focus.
