I just watched The Corrs covering R E M everybody hurts. A power full song that delivers a power full message. I have a strong singing voice but I can't sing along with that one. Every time I try my voice breaks and I'm wiping my eyes.

That's a great song with a strong message.  Its made me think and helped me move forward at times.

"...Cause everybody hurts; Take comfort in your friends..."

"...If you feel like you're alone; No, no, no, you're not alone..."

I'm not familiar with that song but I read the lyrics and oh boy! that brings back a lot of memories and it reminds me how far I've come.  2015 and half of 2016 were nothing but tears.  I remember DEEP loneliness and spontaneous bouts of tears.  I measured the tears I shed in gallons!  I was rejected, emotionally assaulted, told I was going to hell, laughed at, sneered at and worse, nevertheless I persisted.  And as time went on, I realized that indeed, I was NOT alone but that I was surrounded by people who loved me and slowly, it became clear, who "loved" me conditionally and who loves me UNconditionally.  When you're in the midst of transition, it's hard to decipher who's who but with time comes clarity.  With time comes sunshine again.  With time comes confidence in your identity and the wisdom to defend and protect yourself.  YOU will get through this!  Better days ARE coming ...and you are most certainly, NOT alone!!!

All right.  You mention "better days are coming" and that makes me think of another song.  This is from The Kinks (yes I'm dating myself) but this is from a later 1981 album.  "Better Days" has some great lyrics that at times in my life seemed apropos.  Look them up, they're quite good.

"Here's hoping all the days ahead
Won't be as bitter as the ones behind you..."

"I know you've got a lot of good things happening up ahead.
The past is gone it's all been said.
So here's to what the future brings,
I know tomorrow you'll find better things."

Oh wow, I like that. I'm sure I've heard that song. I'll have to look it up. I'm a fan of old rock music. Or maybe I'm an old fan of rock music.

I looked it up and it hits the spot. Good choice.   Better days are coming.  Thanks Jani.

I have a literal soundtrack that goes with my transition.  6 months ago my world caved in yet again and I thought I couldn't take another set back.  I was ready to give up.  Then I heard Maddie and Tae, Learn to Fly and it sustained me for a while.

So keep on climbing, though the ground might shake
Just keep on reaching though the limb might break
We've come this far, don't you be scared now
'Cause you can learn to fly on the way down
