A "funny" at the feed store

I was up at our local feed store getting some goat food as well as a few "hog panels" for temporary fencing around a new barn we are putting up.  As usual for that kind of order i was driving the dump truck.  That is odd enough for the guys loading.  We were putting on the panels when i mentioned having a sore back form setting pavers on the farm.  The guy in charge told me about the brace he was wearing and where i could buy one.  I said:  "i'd wear one of my corsets first but unfortunately i might pop out the top".  I thought he might drop the panel he was laughing so hard.   I never know if i pass our not even with a reaction like that.  I do know life is fun when i'm free of the hangups of being me.

Hugs,

Charlize

Very good indeed!   I agree that life is more fun when we are free to be real!

Humor is the best way to make friends and ease tensions.  It's gotten me out of more than one tough spot.  Thanks for sharing, Charlize.

p.s. I can't believe you drive a dump truck!

The dump truck is great fun.  I love to show up in a skirt and ask for a load of materials that would flatten most pickups.  The guys at the counter always give me grief.  I'm way to fem to be serious or know what i'm talking about.  Maybe a lesson in feminism is appropriate in those situations.  Another funny thing is getting fueled.  In NJ the attendants pump your gas by law but diesel is self serve.  That changes quickly when i long leg and painted toes slides out of the truck.  Gotta love it.  I even got asked if i wanted a job when i pulled into our local fuel dealers pump.  "You drove that truck in?".

I'm not a real trucker like some of the gals here but i have fun working the farm.

Hugs,

Charlize

One of my favorite things about being trans is the skills I brought with me from my former life and the reactions I get when it bends the gender norms and roles others have for women.  Backing our 28' camper into a tight spot like it's computer controlled always puts a smirk on my face when I notice the stopped conversations and dropped jaws from nearby campers.  I imagine the wives asking their husbands why THEY can't back a camper in like HER?  Or when the auto parts person asks me curiously, "are YOU going to install these?" and I reply, "someone's gotta do it".  Sometime I play the "too-complicated-for-me" part at the auto shop just for kicks and to see how honest they are.   I think it "outs" me quite often and a different job would help conceal my past but what-the-heck, this is my reality for now so I might as well have some fun with it while it lasts.

Here in Colorado, its hard to tell the boys from the girls at the feed store and both will load your truck. Of course, no one would ever wear a skirt there unless their buying cat food or doggie treats. Come to think of it, I can't remember seeing skirts in their clothing section but, the Carharts for women sure are nice.

There is nothing like a humour to keep things good. I was amused when the owner of an electronic parts store asked me if I knew what I was looking at though :D I suspect these days most men would not know what the part was.

From my experiences years ago on the farm Charlize that is the response I would expect from many women :)
