Suicide prevention event

Hello, 

I attended my first suicide prevention event today. (Out of the dark, suicide prevention walk) it was a very emotional event for me. As I was there, it took me back to my dark days and I've been having a hard time since. I have started a spiroll back into that unwanted darkness. Has anyone else been to an event like this? Did you experience any rebound backwards? I have been doing fairly well since starting HRT 10 and a half months ago. How can I get past this dark period? Any comments are welcome. I just need the support.

I certainly have felt those feelings come flooding back.  All i can say is that for me they were part of a growth process.  At this point i simply try to reach out as i'm able to help others to avoid the pit of despair that we can slide into.  I've learned that it passes and i only have to get through a day at a time.

Charlize ended with what I would say, that this will pass and to take it one day at a time. Getting enough sleep can help a lot too, as fatigue can amplify depression. Something else I've found helpful on a sunny day is to get outside. Getting outside in the sunlight I've found can really lift my spirits! It's so often seeking out the little joys in life that help me get through.
