Roy Moore: "Transgenders Don't Have Rights"

Recommended Posts

VickySGV

My difficulty in dealing with him is that I have a Law Degree from a fully accredited law school from 45 years ago where we were taught a different concept of the U.S. Legal Structure, rights and responsibilities than the school that he graduated from, or flunked out of.

There is something wrong with democracy there - people don't have rights? <_<

Not for nothing, but I believe it's hit the news today as well that Roy Moore has been accused of inappropriately soliciting minors.

This guy is certainly sick but his nature has come out and both he and his thoughts are discredited by his past.  Sorry but

I have to smile.

Jim Rigby's FB post:
If the puritanical Judge Roy Moore turns out to be guilty of sexual inproprieties it will hardly be surprising to anyone who has worked with people. As a minister of many years, I've never known ANYONE who obsessed about the sexual activities occurring in the private closets of other people, who did not turn out to have skeletons twerking in their own.

Smells like an extremely flawed attempt at deflection.

Does not sound too threatening to me ...Just another mixed up gas bag with his own unique contribution to Global Warming:)

I awoke to the good news from AL this morning :) What a nasty contest in deep red country.

The bigot has failed !

Somebody else I know facing angry women's wrath.....

I just heard the news report too - yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Moore is a fanatic and held values from the 50s. We are truly blessed that he won't be going to the Senate where he could languish for months. Now he can run for dog catcher :)

Fantastic!  One has to be proud of the citizens of Alabama to show the majority still believes in decency!

Sadly, there's still a chance that when the final votes are counted there will have to be a runoff.

I mean "recount".

Just looked at the numbers, Roy lost! No recount will change things by that much.

If what I heard is correct, Alabama law says no recounts unless the vote is closer than 1/2 of 1 percent.  The actual tally showed the difference as 1.5 percent.  Nothing is impossible, but it looks like Jones is in the Senate.

As Moore has said, God hath spoken.  He said, "Not you, Roy!"

I'm assuming things will move forward without him conceding. I hope, anyway. He'll just become the loud uncle at a holiday party who's had too much to drink. A recount would also be very expensive, and I can't believe he'd have the backers to do this when the numbers show he lost. It sure is weird living in America these days...

Here in CA, his failure to concede by now and for the reasons he is citing would be grounds to invoke section 5152 of the Health and Safety Code.  Danger to himself and / or others.

You can post here anytime as well Regn and while it may take some time you will certainly get a response. Even if you don't get messages on the TGAA list serve i hope you will come to the Zoom meetings as well. They are at 7 on Mondays, 9 on Thursday, 6 Saturday and 8 on Sundays....all eastern time.  There is no need to use speak or use your video but listening can certainly help.  It certainly helped me.   Hugs,   Charlize

I am glad to hear that there is something out there at least. But there really should be more. It's just common sense. Spouses of trams people are put under tremendous pressure and need support. I can't really say any more on that. But if she ever does decide to try forums, we do have a forum for family and friends of transgender.   Lots of love, Timber Wolf🐾

As it says in the title I have finally gotten up the guts to go back to the docs after my first failed attempt, I will totally be ready for the mental health comments this time but any ideas on what else to expect? Should I be doing research on stuff and how much should I actually tell them?   Thanks in advance  Connor

I have had my nipples pierced and my belly button. These I did my self.  I don't have them anymore.   I do like them a lot though.    Not to much into tattooing for me      love the toe rings          My wife does not like them on me

I don't think you are crazy Julie. It's unlikely that I would have done the same, but I try to avoid politics. I am not an activist as such. That said, many times over my life I have done similar things without thinking (I am not thinking trans here, but I have been a bit of a rebel). We all do to some extent. My thoughts are to look at possible consequences, and be ready for them. Minimise any risk. Bullies tend to be such in their environment, but often subdued outside of it.   Tracy

Tattoos seem to be one of the main things which make me feel my age. When I was little, women locally would never ever contemplate a tattoo. It signified a tart at the very least! I remember some elderly male relatives having tattoos. They looked dingy on their aged wrinkled skin. I am not against them in general, but would not recommend them and not have one myself.   I personally don't go in for piercings either. Ears would be Ok, but I don't wear earrings often enough to make it useful.   I am probably very old fashioned, but I grew up in an earlier age and social circle.   Tracy
