A former coworker tried to out me with this http://www.newsoptimist.ca/news/local-news/transgender-day-of-remembrance-marked-1.23102077                         While I was off work for a surgery ans subsiquent DVT today I needed to drop off some papers at work and one of my coworkers said so you were in the paper I cautiously replied yes he said k------ sent us the picture so everyone at work knows and are fine with it my foreman said I cant wear shirts in the shop I still have to deal with HR but I was getting that in place already

LOL  Sure looks like it backfired on your ex coworker. I'm glad to hear that it went well for you. :)

That's great, BobbiSue, that your colleagues are so supportive.  Congrats!

I had a similar experience.  My ex-supervisor found out about my pending transition before HR and I were ready to announce it.  He went to my former colleagues he thought would be of like mind and outed me.  Every single one he approached wouldn't bite, and in turn told HR and me what he was trying to do.  He got caught red handed, but management protected him and he didn't suffer for it.  But he, and I, found out who the staff was really loyal to.

I'm glad Bobbisue :)

I think the one time it may have happened to me was when people at work and in my art group said that I had been caught on TV when in the city. As perhaps the first place 'Tracy' was mentioned by me by name was at work some time previous it was irrelevant no matter how I was dressed, but it shows that things can become public in an instant.

That's wonderful!  Odd how accidents and the acts of others can bring us closer th being able to be ourselves as we wish.  I'm glad it went so well for you!

Hugs,
