Trans woman from Belgium

Hello,

I am Elissa, 21 y.o, I am a trans woman from Belgium. I am on HRT since January 2016 so going on my third year of HRT now. I am pleased with its effects.

I have not had SRS yet but plan to have it done in the near future. Researching surgeons currently. Leaning to go with PAI, dr Sutin.

I am straight. Knew I was trans since childhood. Sadly couldn’t come out earlier than 2015 because my parents were unsupportive.

I am currently in college, studying journalism. Love it. I have always loved literature and languages. Mathematics on the other hand, ewww.

What’s more to be said?

Uhmmm, I’m a sensitive person. I love hugging and other warm kind hearted gestures.

I would chose a quiet night at home over a loud night at the pub any time. I don’t drink and don’t do drugs.

I love educating myself about other cultures.

I’m into fashion, make-up and I love reading medical papers.

I’m single (by choice, until I will be post-op), I have one pet, a dog.

I am from Belgium, home of the lovely chocolates ;-)

Anddd I’m new here :P

Hi Elissa

Welcome :)

Your chocolates - well what more does one need :D , except perhaps Belgian beer which is also very good. I too seldom go to the pub but do have the occasional beer.

Thank you for the introduction. Please do not hesitate to read, ask questions as you feel and join in. We are all here for each other.

Nice to meet you

Hi Tracy,

thank you for the warm welcome message ☺️

Our beers are also famous, that’s true. I personally love Kriek Bellevue. It’s beer with cherries. The typical Belgian beers like Palm and Stella Artois are too strong for me, sadly.

I’m especially here to connect with other trans people about the struggles in daily life we face. Especially since the ignorance of other people we are confronted with can be overwhelming sometimes.

Nice to meet you too and I hope y’all will appreciate my contributions on the forums.

Welcome, Elissa! Looks like your chocolate comment is getting lots of attention. I ate my daily ration an hour ago :)

You seem to be living a balanced life - this should help you in your journey. I'd rather have a quiet night at home instead of a noisy night out on the town too. And I'd probably be sitting in my living room with a small dog, if my landlord would allow it.

It's great to have you here.

Greetings Ellisa, I'm glad you joined us.  It's sad that your parents cannot support you, but college is a good place to spread you wings and fly!  I look forward to hearing more from you.  Please join in when you can.

Welcome!  Glad to hear your journey is moving forward.

I do have an important question.  What kind of dog do you have and what is their name?

AWW, I love that question, so sweet :)

my dog is called “ Noisette “ which is French for “ walnut / nut “ . He is 4 years old, kinda small but very fat. His race is a mix of a mops and a bulldog.

I love him. He can be grumpy but he’s lovely :)

Thanks so much. Your message feels very welcoming :) I don’t have a lot of  supportive people so thanks for offering me a place to share my feelings.

Hi Gwen,

thanks for the warm welcome.

I do have a balanced life but it’s especially because it helps me to get through the dysphoric days. I try to work a lot and do relaxing things to be confronted less with the dysphoria.

I love Godiva chocolate. Lindt chocolate from Switzerland is not bad either but I prefer my Belgian chocolates. We have a Leonidas on every corner here. Do you have Leonidas chocolate in the USA? :)

Hi Elissa! Welcome to Transpulse! My mom  took about a year to come around (sort of), my dad took about 3 months. Initially they were very hostile to it. I kept in touch, and basically showed them it was not the end of the world and it was what was best  for me.

Hugs,

Marcie

Amazingly I have found many cis women are absolutely wrong in their assumptions about bra fittings. I knew an elderly lady that said, "I have been a C cup since school, I just buy a bigger band size as my breasts grow." This is completely WRONG as the band should always fit snug with they gore firmly against the chest.    One of CNA's came into Torrid and I helped her pick out a new bra. She didn't even understand band size was inches and cups/band combo were based off Victorian shirt sizes.  She said, "how do you know so much?"   We found her proper fitting band size, then found a cup she fit.    How can people that take the vast majority of bra users know so little about them? Seems most cis women just use "try it on" only.

As has been said many times, this is not a black and white issue. Sure.  I get it that a MtF person that has gone through full male puberty and "transitioned" 6 months ago probably has an advantage in some sports.  But these bans affect elementary school kids too. I mean, banning trans women from Darts?  Chess?

Worry refers to the thoughts, images, emotions, and actions of a negative nature in a repetitive, uncontrollable manner that results from a proactive cognitive risk analysis made to avoid or solve anticipated potential threats and their potential consequences.

Good morning    Now @Abigail Genevieve and @Mmindy what makes you so certain I didn’t mean it to say bee itch certificate?  lol. Thanks Mindy. I was asleep when you saw this and fixed it, and yes Abigail, as a moderator I could have fixed it myself, or weren’t you pointing out the irony of that?   I use Alexis as my alarm to get up.  And I set the ringer to be two guys telling me to get up.  I was so sound asleep when they started telling me to get up that it scared me and my first thought were I had over slept.  Since I have a difficult time getting to sleep as early as I have to in order to get enough sleep I at least cut back my normal awake time to get ready.  But now I have to do my hair and get going.   enjoyed my coffee and a little time catching up   see you all later, for its hi ho hi ho it’s off to work I go.   Willow

Republicans have long committed grave errors by emphasizing their social agenda and moral issues instead of just focusing on the economy, lowering taxes, keeping the public safe, building a strong national defense, promoting business, touting reasonable immigration policies, etc.   The country would thrive economically under Trump's tax and business policies. That's a fact. Another four years of Biden will run this country into the ground financially (including all of our 401Ks and IRAs). But the GOP continues to play right into the Dems' hands by leading with their moral crusades instead of staying the course and trusting their fiscal policies to win the day...

Thanks.  I will look those up in the document, hopefully tomorrow.   I always look at the source on stuff like this, not what someone, particularly those adversarial, have to say.
