The long road to HRT

Gwen

Recommended Posts

I wanted to share with everyone that I now have my first appointment with an endocrinologist! March 21. After 5 months of gender therapy, while discovering a new and wonderful (to me anyway!) person hiding inside of me, my referral letter was accepted and I'm on my way. I say it's been a long road, because I've lived decades not really knowing this person existed. My gender/identity was always a twisted mess, but that's now sorted out and well understood. I still maintain that my first clue came Thursday, October 31st, 1963, when I wore a dress for Halloween. At 7 I knew something, and I never forgot that dark night.

That's great news Gwen, 3/21 will be here before you know it :)

Your Halloween story was similar to mine at about the same age, my mom made me up a nurse's outfit one year, white dress and white hat, it was just so much fun, you never forget that kinda thing....

Best wishes to you as the date arrives

Hugs

I remember the two times as a child when i was able to be a girl for halloween.  They were very special and some of those as an adult were great as well:D.

The time will pass quickly although i remember when i was waiting it seemed it couldn't come quickly enough.  Breath deep and try to simply enjoy each day.

Hugs,

Charlize

Thanks everyone :) I can't believe the date is finally approaching! In the meantime I'm focusing on the present by shopping at second hand stores for more clothes, and beginning hair removal. To be honest, clothes shopping seems much more enjoyable. I went to an estate sale yesterday and found some lovely silk scarves. The woman who died must've had wonderful taste. She obviously enjoyed dressing well despite her modest life. I later found the hat of my dreams (I wear a lot of hats). I actually had a vision of this hat last week and was in awe when I saw it.

There needs to be a thread about those of us who dressed as girls for Halloween - seems like there are some wonderful stories out there!!

I never got to be a girl for Halloween, but got to be a ballet dancer for freshman initiation and a cheerleader for a pep rally skit in high school. What a blast!:D En joy the ride on hrt.

Well yesterday didn't work like I wanted to. I met a guy and started talking and he was wanting to be in a relationship. I asked my kids on how they thought of me dating a man and they said gross and said no. I guess it's time to look for women. I think that is going to be harder. Oh well I guess.

I don't have anything in my dress pocket

This topic reminds me of the lyrics to the Beatles song, "A Little Help From My Friends."   "What do you see when you turn out the lights?"   "I can't tell you but I know it's mine."   Carolyn Marie

@Ivy have you read the actual document?   Has anyone else out there read it?
    • Abigail Genevieve
I am reading the Project 2025 document https://www.project2025.org/policy/   This will take some time.  I read the forward and I want to read it again later.   I read some criticism of it outside here and I will be looking for it in the light of what has been posted here and there.  Some of the criticism is bosh.   @MaeBe have you read the actual document?

      *older, not holder, oops :P

      No problem!

Old topic, but I gotta say my favorites are: "Stop hitting on minors" (doesn't work if you're holder tho) and "Sure as [squid] not you"

Abigail, I think we will just leave the other posts where they are, and the discussion can start anew here.  It is possible to do what you ask, but would disrupt the flow of the discussion in the other thread, and would require more work than it's worth.   Carolyn Marie

I am in too good a mood to earn my certificate today. I am sure something will happen that will put me on the path to earning it.

It's likely most cis-women consider a fitting unnecessary "because they know what  they wear" and get used to the wrong size.  The instructions for what your size is are simple and why go to any further effort?  You measure your bandsize and you measure your max and subtract the two to get the needed info for the cup size.  Then you buy the same size for years until it hurts or something.

Congratulations Lorelei! Yes, it is a powerful feeling to have the documents that say "you are you".

Here is space for discussion on this, since the topic is large and could derail another thread SOMEBODY started.   Could some dear, sweet, kind Moderator pull everything related to this from the Voting for Trump thread and put it here?  I don't know if you can do that; I am the new girl on the block after all (blinks sweetly).
