Shaving

I picked up a Schick intuition fab forward and backward razor and it allows you to shave in either direction and has fantastic glide strips on it, it works really quite well and is definitely much better than a brand new 3 blade Mach 3 razor that I’ve always used on my face, so there must be something to the geometry of the blades as it doesn’t leave anything standing and it glides  effortlessly so I’m very impressed...  I only used dove soap and not shave gel or anything of that nature and it seems to be more than adequate. I would venture to guess that even just water would be fine with these  strips as they make some kind of a very viscous glide gel as they operate, I’m wondering how long they’re gonna last ?

i guess i am kinda lucky in the hair department. i didn't have much hair to shave off my legs and underarms or my chest and torso.? just my beard and mustach are the hard ones to manage.

Thank god I was born Asian. I never had much hair except on my generally excepted areas. As others have stated growth stubble is my main issue. I find that a Gillette Mach3 turbo razor and some steady hands make the best shaving tools. Other then my face, the first thing I shaved when I started transitioning was my legs then underarms. Then came my crotch which was kind of a challenge. Last was my unmentionable area. You have to be careful because you can and I did cut myself. Sorry if that is TMI but I shave all areas.

I have been shaving my legs since 2002. the rest progressed over the past few years. Now I keep smooth nose to toes. Just starting to work on my arms. If I have to go to many days with out shaving drives me batty. Shave every other day when I shower. Dove soap too and a Mach 3.

A few weeks back I broke down and bought the Flawless Legs electric razor that they advertise on tv. I did so reluctantly, as most of those things don't live up to the advertising, but I am happy to say that this works. It is nice because it has four heads to get a wider area and works well on the areas that you can't see ( the back of your legs). It is rather costly, 60 dollars, but for me anyway, it was worth the price.

Works well on arms too.

Sadly the hair on my body could rival Sasquatch.  It's what tends to make me give up and causes the biggest dysphoria moments for me. My beard is copper wire as well lol. I am thinking of waxing but the costs I have been quoted because I have so much body are crazy.

Brienne I understand honestly, my chest hair was about the only thing I could out-man anyone at. (I used to play mixed Ultimate and one of our regular mini games was to play higher or lower with chest hair) ? I love the smooth feeling that the creams give but have found I cannot leave it to grow long enough to be effective so I use cheap disposable razors on my legs arms and chest every other day (£2 for 10) with a sensitive foam and my face gets the more expensive multiblade razors, or my electric shaver if I'm in a hurry with moisturiser afterwards. It now takes me an extra 30 mins to get ready in the mornings.  If I leave shaving any longer the disposables cannot handle the hair and once I removed it I just cannot face it all returning. I have found own brand versions to be just as good as Gillette or Wilkinsons.  I needed to prioritise counselling, but that is far cheaper than I thought it would be so now I intend to book regular appointments for hair removal in the new year and cannot wait to make a start!

I'm lucky in that I don't have much chest hair, so I use Nair for that area. I haven't tried it anywhere else yet.

Veets for Sensitive Skin works great for me. I have very little body hair anyway. Mostly facial and pubic. I've not done anything down there because I can't stand looking down there. My only serious dysphoria actually.

It takes me 3 days or longer for 5 o'clock shadow to appear so I don't shave daily. Twice or three times a week. It's one of the benefits of being XX/XY. I'm genetically intersexual. Makes a few things easier.

Now the major news!

I just got my 2 letters requesting medically necessary Hair Removal, Augmentation Mammoplasty and Vaginoplasty.

I have been doing HRT since April 16, 2018. My labs are already inline. Serum T is <3pg/dl. Free T is .04ng/ml.

This is the other benefit of being intersex...

This is the best news I've gotten since coming out on April 6, 2018

@Sally Stone, I have enjoyed reading this thread immensely. There certainly are some things in it that I can relate to, particularly when you wrote that "I wasn’t a man trapped in a woman’s body." This simple statement confirmed two things for me; I am not an imposter here, and I could end up much further along the path than what I imagine now.   I very much look forward to your future posts here.   I hope that by posing this question I'm not committing you to spoil future posts, but can I ask, why you have settled on Bigender as a label? I keep changing my label and have no idea what it might be tomorrow or next week or next month!

This whole Cass Review thing is breaking my heart. I keep imagining how it must be to be a trans kid in the UK atm. I am halfway through reading the review so that I can effectively refute it if and when people cite it here in Australia.

One thing I took on board from a former boss who was an absolute gentleman and fluent conversationalist but a hopeless leader because he was the classic yes man to his superiors, was to take the emotion out of the equation when arguing. Don't use hyperbole. Don't exaggerate. Stick to what you know and defeat your adversary with logic. Of course, your adversary will double down and make an even bigger fool of themselves, and not even realize that they have lost the argument, nor will they realize that people are laughing at them and not with them. It also helps if you can separate them from their minions.   A conservative elderly uncle, who left school at the age of 12, swears black and blue that taking Ivermectin (sheep dip) prevents Covid because he knew someone who knew someone else who took it and despite that person being momentarily in close contact with people who had Covid, didn't come down with it. "Well, you're the one with the science degree!" I said.   A lot of people argue out of ignorance. They base their points on populism and rumor. I rarely argue, but when I do, it is in an attempt to push back. Another favorite saying that I use is "Rumors are started by haters, spread by fools and believed by idiots." I then ask, "Which two are you?" 😉

Good morning, all!!! Cloudy today with some light rain coming. Not a day to work outside.   I will vacuum the house and the head out to our local hardware store after I get cleaned up. Time to buy a new bird feeder for the back porch.   I'm sorry the job didn't work @KymmieL! Hang in there.   It sounds like a busy time for you at work @Willow. Finding reliable people is so hard these days.   Time for another cup of coffee before I start cleaning!!   Enjoy this beautiful day we've been given.

Nostalgia is an emotion. It is the feeling of enjoying events from the past. People with nostalgia will often look at or use old things that they were familiar with years ago. This is because people feel more connected to those past times that they enjoyed, usually because it reminds them of how long it has been since they last connected to such past times. Examples where people may have the feeling of nostalgia includes watching old TV shows, using old technology that was very enjoyable, and playing with toys that you played with as a child. These memories are usually misleading, and can make someone wish that they could be young again, even if their childhood was mediocre. Human brains often leave out boring or bad memories, which can cause incorrect feelings about their childhood.
