Names

Alex Skelton

Okay so ive been thinking about names and i narrowed the list down to three names. The names are Alexander, Julian (which is the masculine form of my birth name), or Jaxx. I cant decide between the three of them. Which name do you like better?

If I recall from another post, you said Alex was a name friends gave you, not a bad start if it still made your short list.  Julian honors the name your parents gave you so another good choice.  I guess the the question you need to consider is friends, parents or completely new?  We can all tell you the name each of us likes best, but it’s your new name.  you may need help with how to choose, but you have to decide.  It’s not our name it’s yours.  Good luck. Let us know what you decide.

I like the name Julian, although Alexander is fine.  Jaxx not so much.  Willow is correct about Julian being close to what your parents gave.

I always think of names in terms of how they'll really be used. People LOVE to shorten or modify names if they're familiar with you, as I'm sure you know, so you may consider thinking a little in those terms, too.

Al, Alex, Alexander
Jules, Julian
Jaxx, (Jackson?)

If you like Jaxx, maybe it could be the shortening of a more conventional name?

I actually like all of them! If I had to choose? Probably Alexander, but the rest are very close seconds. ?

I also like Julian, as I like the idea of shortening it to Jules...  that and I believe I am partial to J names!

Not too good at giving name advice - I thought of myself inside as Johnny from before age 5 so I never had to think about it.

Do what feels like you. Not what's unusual or unique or cool unless it is YOU. Because names and their popularity change. How will you like the name at 30 or 40? How will you like it on a job application? What will it say to an amployer? A name is a label that actually says a lot about you sometimes. Even what generation you are from. And if it is too unusual it will call attention as well.

I can't give advise on which name really because I have no way of knowing which one best expresses you as you are inside.
