Might be going to Jail

I have had a real difficult time with my transition. I am at a point were i would rather people just see me as male because i dont have to deal with all that stuff that comes with being a transgender girl who struggle to look more female. I dont know what to do in regards of that. I would rather just not be bothered by anyone.

So i i might be facing some jail time do to a incident i had last night. I was dropping my girlfriend off at her house. She lives with her step father who is a violent drunk and i have to see him verbally abuse her and she has told me he has been physical. I was saying my goodbyes to her and noticed he was walking past me swearing at her. I started to drive away and i should of just keep going but felt i needed to confront him. I just felt inside i cant take watching this man treat my girlfriend like this. He started waking towards me so i hit him because i thought he was going to attack.

I accept my part in this i turned myself in and was processed. The situation is that i have been having a real hard time with my gender and feel like because i have disregarded myself as transgender i feel like i am less than a trans person even more so than i did when i was living as myself. All my legal info is in my new name and my gender marker has been switched on my passport and licenses.I have been on Hormones for over 8 years. I just really didnt know what to do in regards to my trans issues. I bascially one day couldnt take all the stares and people i went back to male mind you this was all before Cailyn Jenner came out and everyone knew what transgender was.

I dont know any support would be appreciated

Welcome to the Forums.  I hope you have an attorney that will help you in this. Dealing with intoxicated people is messy and unpredictable.  I can say that because I have been on both sides of the problem and have to be sure each day to stay on the sober side of things.

I hope you also are seeing a Therapist for the GD.  They are as important for you just now as the attorney because the depression you are talking about can also affect our judgment as badly as drugs or alcohol.  I hope the things you find here will help you deal with life as you are getting it.

I'm sorry to hear this.  Getting legal advice would be a good idea.

Welcome Sydney.  As Vicky said please make sure you get a good attorney.

My amateur reading of this is that  I doubt that the fact that you are trans* will affect the proceedings.  The "crime" was assault and battery and unless there was clear justification you may well have difficulties.

Best of luck.  I am glad your here.  i hope it helps to know your not alone.

Hugs,

Charlize

Welcome to Trans Pulse, Sydney.  I agree with the others that an attorney is essential, and if you can find one who is LGBT that would be even better.  I don't  know what the law is there, but if you just hit him once with a fist and he didn't get seriously hurt, it doesn't seem like a major crime to me.  Like Charlize said, assault and battery is about it, unless you have a criminal record.  You may also want to suggest to your girlfriend that she move out if she can, or file abuse charges against her step father.

You do need a gender therapist, too, if you don't already have one.  Clearly you are conflicted about your gender issues and its not something you're going to solve on your own.  I wish you all the best.

I dont feel im conflicted about my gender. I think im just scared to show people who i am. I dont have a very good therapist who is trying to see what kind of surgeries i can get with the current insurance that i have. I always wanted to be a girl thats never going to change no matter how much i lie to myself.

I know this feeling so well. It kept me in depression and darkness for 20 years. On antidepressants, I finally saw that all I could do is try my best and take whatever the results may be. I hope you find some peace

If you truly thought he was about to attack you, then you might wish to consider just going all the way with that, by pleading self defense. If you can show that this man is a violent drunk, you might just walk away from all of it with charges dropped.

Sally, a moderator can edit the post adding "Post 3" if you would like. Let me know and I'll be glad to take care of it. That way your numbering system is in tact.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I thought Hey, I can't be experiencing Gender destroyer because it doesn't fit the narrative, but Hey I can. I am experiencing mild discomfort in relation to my gender. Because and that can be a form of mild form of it this forum because their elements of my gender that are out of alignment with my sign gender at birth. There are elements of my gender I have been holding back on some I did not even know for fear it did not fit was told was not very manly or in some other way not correct for someone who is an amab. I tried embracing and expressing some of these parts of me even for just a little bit every once in a while and it feels like a relief to me like a weight has been lifted.

Welcome to Transgender Pulse Forums @violet r   I think we all were scared with our first post here on TPF. I hope you come to find this site as welcoming as an old friend. Not knowing the type of retail you're in, it is hard to know how they will react to your coming out. I would hope that if it's part of a larger corporation they may have corporate policies supporting/protecting you once you decide to come out publicly. No one here will rush you, or try to slow you down, once you've decided to come out. Some of us are secret sisters, and others of us are as flamboyant as they come. The cool this is you get to choose. You be you.   Best wishes, stay positive, and motivated,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Welcome aboard, Violet. What a pretty name!   You are among friends here. We are all on a journey, with things in common despite our individual uniqueness. I hope that makes sense!

Welcome Violet.  It's been awhile since i found this space with so many who understand the struggle to simply be ourselves in a society that often disapproves,  It isn't an easy path but being together we can share all the bumps and the joys. You are not alone.   Hugs,   Charlize

I'm sorry it didn't work out for the new job. Nothing to keep you from being on the search. I had a coworker who used to walk out of the locker room saying; "I was looking for a job with I found this one and I'll keep searching for the next one. Never let them think you're comfortable and settled."   The coffee has just finished brewing, and we have a HVAC technician coming in about 30 minutes to do an annual system check.   It's time to get out of my Pj's.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

@Sally Stone, I have enjoyed reading this thread immensely. There certainly are some things in it that I can relate to, particularly when you wrote that "I wasn’t a man trapped in a woman’s body." This simple statement confirmed two things for me; I am not an imposter here, and I could end up much further along the path than what I imagine now.   I very much look forward to your future posts here.   I hope that by posing this question I'm not committing you to spoil future posts, but can I ask, why you have settled on Bigender as a label? I keep changing my label and have no idea what it might be tomorrow or next week or next month!
