I also noticed that exercising proper blade angle makes a big difference when using a safety razor, not hard to do just something you need to be aware of.

I believe the preset angle in the cartridge type makes the difference.  The angle is tilted somewhat whereas the safety razor is not so much so how you hold it makes a difference.  I used that type when I was younger, starting when I was in the Navy.  I was always cutting myself.  I was glad when the cartridge type came along.

I think I got too excited that it was working so well and shaving so smooth, I did splash and lather again but I think I was attacking the same spot to much. I knew better too, it really was a silly mistake, at the time I wondered if I was getting myself in trouble. Amazing thing is the safety Razor shaves so smooth it lulls you into a false sense of confidence.  I just need to take it easy on my face for a few days anyway I have electrolysis on Wednesday. One of the things I just heard about is starting to concern me about the way I’m having electrolysis done. One of the girls in group is a professional electrolysis and quite honestly one of the most beautiful trans women I’ve ever seen in my life, I’m quite jealous and very interested in her  electrolysis technique simultaneously. She told me that galvanic bland creates too much heat and destroys the collagen in the face, and while it’s good for easy touchups it’s not good for for facial hair removal as it quite commonly creates a large like a collagen in the face and causes excessive wrinkling of the skin.  She only does straight galvanic, and I will admit my face is torn up, and I definitely see what she’s talking about as where the work is been done there are small depressions in my skin that I’m worried about, hopefully if I switch to the better method I don’t risk permanent damage from the work that’s already been done. Several of the girls  at group have been using her over the years and her work speaks for itself, these girls all have nice smooth skin that doesn’t need constant attention or shaving, I’m definitely going to consider stopping with my current electrolysis person for this reason alone.

Not quite. This is another thing that is more difficult with safety razors compared to cartridge razors. The latter are all more or less the same, whereas safety razors are all very different. It's not just the angle, it's also how much the blade is exposed etc. This is all summed up under the term aggressiveness. The razor I use (a Merkur 34C) is one of the most common "beginner's" razors with a very mild aggressiveness setting. The blade is bent quite a lot (similar angle as in typical cartridge razors) and it's not very exposed, so it's almost impossible to hurt myself despite using blades that are amongst the sharpest on the market. In all honesty this was a big surprise to me. Apparently the aggressiveness setting is that important.

@jae bear from your posts it seems to me that your razor is one with adjustable aggressiveness? It didn't occur to me earlier, but this might be something to look into. You might be better off setting it to the mildest aggressiveness for now.

 Hey Jo Jo,

I’ve been doing some intensive reading about different hair removal types, and everything I’ve heard says that laser works best for extremely dark black hair only, and for most doesn’t seem permanent, and often causes much extra work once the same patients decide  to go with electrolysis. I’ve been going to electrolysis for a little while and I started having trouble, my electrologist has been using galvanic blend mode, however I think she has the thermolysis setting up way too high and is essentially only performing thermolysis which is incredibly damaging. I know someone who does straight galvanic so I’m going to see if I can find a way for my insurance to reimburse me and go to her instead. Most of the information I read is pretty simple, straight galvanic takes a little bit longer but it’s more permanent and patients often appear 10 years younger, improperly done galvanic blend that is heavy on thermolysis needs heavy repeat application and often makes patients look 10 years older !

thats not quite true it takes longer sessions for dark hairs and takes shorter sessions for light hair but if you have white hairs because of lack of colour pigment you cant use ipl only electrolosis for white hairs

Omg. Every time I look at this topic I feel so dumb. Lol. I hope the laser place I’m going to is the right thing. All I know is that it’s laser hair removal. It seems like I am missing a lot. Idk. I do know that I have all black thick hair. No white grey or any of that. And fairish skin. If there’s anything specific that I’m looking for could you please let me know. I don’t want to ruin my face. Or waste a ton of money on nothing. ☹️

I have had one laser treatment in my face and legs. While the first treatment didn't yield a lot of results for my face, my legs are already showing signs of improvement. I was shaving my legs every two days, and since treatment I am down to shaving my legs maybe 1 time a week. So excited for my face to show improvement, as I have dark hair on my face.

It certainly could be classed as dark humor.  Unfortunately the sentiments alone must hurt young trans folks.  Decency and reality doesn't seem to be in the GOP's vocabulary.   Hugs,   Charlize

Good morning all,    It’s a frosty morning here the lawn looks silvery, and the uncovered spring flowers have icy edges on their leaves. The only flower bed I covered was my tulips. As nice as it is here during the day, our clear wind free nights allow the temperatures to drop into the mid twenties. Here in our growing zone it’s recommended that you not plant delicate plants until Mother’s Day. Central Indiana can have snow as late as the third week of May. The birds are active at the feeders, I’ve had my cup of yoghurt and morning meds. So I’ll sit here, drink coffee and watch the as the sunrise chases the frost from the yard.    @awkward-yet-sweet I could eat black eyed peas as a side for every meal. Boil them plain or with fatback. Served as a leftover, just add in a little Rotel Original Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies.  Make the best of your day,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Morning, y'all. Evening here; we had the regulation three mugs full today. Now it's time to drink something else.     No big plans here either, eldest daughter and granddaughter will be arriving on Saturday, and we will have our granddaughter to ourselves for a week after that. We still have plans though. Tuesday we'll go to the swim center, Wednesday we'll take a road trip to visit my mom, Thursday we'll get some mulch delivered to top up the gardens.   I still make other small plans on a daily basis though. The things I do plan nowadays, which is a bit new for me, is that after pinching a nerve and ending up in a bit of pain and getting some treatment from the physio, I am more motivated than ever to exercise more regularly. Tuesday for example, I went for a short (15 minute) early morning walk, went to the pool for some hydrotherapy, and mowed the lawns. Yesterday I did my exercise reps and spent some time on the exercise bike. Today, I went for a 45-minute walk, tomorrow I will do my reps again and go for a long bike ride. As long as I do at least one thing every day, right? The pleasing thing is that I'm losing weight! I blew out to above 95kg early in the year and I'm just under 91kg now. Yay me!

Boredom is an emotional state that comes when a person has nothing to do, and is not interested in anything. To stop boredom, most people do something to occupy or amuse themselves. The first known use of the word boredom is in the novel Bleak House by Charles Dickens, written in 1852, but the saying to be a bore had been used to mean "to be tiresome or dull" since 1768. When referring to the mind, boredom is a bad state in which the person feels a deep lack of interest in what is going on around them, and where it is hard to focus.
