Can’t tell whether...

Marbabar

... my breasts are starting to grow, or I’m just getting fatter.

... my nipples are sore from hormones, or from chafing and sweating all day every day under silicone breast forms in 90°+ heat.

... my skin is drying out from the estrogen or from a week using hotel soap on vacation.

I can’t tell so, I might as well assume the best! ?

If your breasts are getting firmer then I would suggest they are growing!  Nipple soreness is typical as the estrogen keeps them in a perpetual aroused mode.  Dry skin, Yes!  You will dry out as the T is mitigated.  I have the double whammy of thinner skin as I've aged (similar to my mother) as well as the dryness.  Stay hydrated and use lotion.

ABSOLUTELY

A cotton "nursing shield" between your nipples and your silicone forms will help wick away the moisture that will harbor other problems for your chest skin in hot weather.  I personally just ditched the forms when things got too hot, even at one Trans Convention I was at when my boob tissue was taking off.  I surprised myself that I really felt better and less self-conscious without the BF's, like I was showing off my new self, small as that was.  It was a moment of POWER.

Just be careful using some scented skin lotions if you are on vacation.  The bugs in Georgia one year homed in on me like an Air Force bombing squad with stuff on that sent Southern California bugs heading to Northern California fast.  (Someone offered me a head to toe mosquito net garment, and I darn near took them up on it.

Just reading this post...

I didn't know me aereoles were so sore because they are in a constant state of arousal! My very tiny breasts are definitely much firmer than before hormones and now I can stop wondering if my breasts are really developing or it was just my imagination. Thanks for sharing your journeys ladies. It helps so much.

Hi Julie,

Permanent arousal is totally correct I have been on Estradiol Valerate now for a year in nine days and my nipples are still going berserk ?

Also you will notice a hard lump appear behind the nipples be careful of this, I caught myself on my bathroom door and almost jumped out the window never felt anything like that in my life. The lumps I have are around the size of a pool ball and very hard.

Developing breasts is quite an eye opener also the movement of them when I run up stairs even wearing a bra it quite staggering I can feel my whole chest muscles pulling down ?

Enjoy hunni your puppies are on their way

Just as a warning, I went through two more stages that drove me crazy, one of them was about 3 months of being ticklish where I had to keep my bras cinched on firmly, and the worst was about 6 months after that where the feeling became erotic and radiated over my entire chest and lower tummy areas if something lightly touched them like a filmy night gown.  Just a head's up.

Oddly several years into HRT I’m going through another phase of perkyness.  Due to the heat and work on the farm I haven’t been wearing a bra so I get bumped(oweeee) but also somehow there is more sensation.  It is quite liberating but i would rather not see the big “sag” begin.

Gentle hugs,

I've had a lull in growth and that distressed me for a bit, then I just asked my wife and she said they don't just keep growing all the time, silly! I felt loads better and now I am back on the blockers I find my nipples are hard a lot of the time. I've only been on HRT for about 11mths and on low doses, thankfully the doctors have increased my dosage, so hoping to feel and see more progress. I love being me, finally! ?

OMG... I just put on a pair of shorts (boy shorts... sigh) that have ALWAYS fallen down unless I'm wearing a belt. I pulled them on in the laundry room - my belt was upstairs - then continued with the laundry, hanging things up, folding towels and so forth. I picked up the laundry basket and went up 2 flights of stairs and started putting the towels away when I realized my shorts hadn't fallen down! I went into the bedroom and loaded up the pockets with my wallet, change, keys... this would do the deed... shorts will definitely fall down around my ankles now... NOT! Holy cow! I picked up my belt, threaded it through the belt loops and pulled it tight, to the last belt hole, without any trouble. I have never gotten it into the last belt hole!

I've been wondering if my hormones are really working... YES they are most emphatically beginning to bring changes to my waist and hips, else my shorts would have been so loose they would have fallen down, like they did 4 days ago! Can these changes really happen this quickly?

Marbabar... assume the best. I'm sooooo happy!!!!

It may not be the direct result of tissue re-distribution, but hormones and anti-hormones do mess with our fluid retention in the early months of using them.  Spiro is a diuretic that can get rid of excess water in our systems, but the E at certain points and levels in the blood stream can make us have water-bloat as well.  Quite a game of tug-of-war.  I am not trying to  be a kill-joy and am glad you are happy, but don't be let down either.  I have been on HRT for 9 years and it is a roller coaster, but for me it is the right stuff.

Thanks Vicky... I don't know if something is actually happening, but I'm going to err on the side of cautious optimism! I'll know better at my next doctors appointment on the 28th. He has been tracking my physical changes through weight, body measurements and my blood lab test results for hormone levels etc. I think I will ask my MD for a printout of my progress so I can refer back to it as I go forward. I really appreciate you and everyone else sharing your experience as I go along on my own journey.

I really am soooo happy! LOL

Enjoy the growth Marbabar, and then get ready for your mammograms ?

I received a letter today from the imaging facility I went to last week, and was really nice to read these words below.

"we are pleased to inform you that the results of your recent breast imaging exam are normal"

Happy and healthy boobies to you

Congratulations CyndiRae! I hope I fair as well when it's my time... probably another 4 or 5 years? I guess I'll have to wait and see. Imagine, there may be a time I will have documentation that my breasts are normal! Woohoo!

Another milestone CyndiRae!

CyndiRae well done.  I've had a script for a mammogram for over a year now and just haven't gone in for the procedure.  I know it is foolish especially after helping a dear friend through a long trial with breast cancer, reconstruction, hair loss and all that accompanies that horror.  I'm glad to see the topic discussed here.  I've got to get moving on my self care in that regards.

Hugs,

As has been said many times, this is not a black and white issue. Sure.  I get it that a MtF person that has gone through full male puberty and "transitioned" 6 months ago probably has an advantage in some sports.  But these bans affect elementary school kids too. I mean, banning trans women from Darts?  Chess?

Good morning    Now @Abigail Genevieve and @Mmindy what makes you so certain I didn’t mean it to say bee itch certificate?  lol. Thanks Mindy. I was asleep when you saw this and fixed it, and yes Abigail, as a moderator I could have fixed it myself, or weren’t you pointing out the irony of that?   I use Alexis as my alarm to get up.  And I set the ringer to be two guys telling me to get up.  I was so sound asleep when they started telling me to get up that it scared me and my first thought were I had over slept.  Since I have a difficult time getting to sleep as early as I have to in order to get enough sleep I at least cut back my normal awake time to get ready.  But now I have to do my hair and get going.   enjoyed my coffee and a little time catching up   see you all later, for its hi ho hi ho it’s off to work I go.   Willow

Republicans have long committed grave errors by emphasizing their social agenda and moral issues instead of just focusing on the economy, lowering taxes, keeping the public safe, building a strong national defense, promoting business, touting reasonable immigration policies, etc.   The country would thrive economically under Trump's tax and business policies. That's a fact. Another four years of Biden will run this country into the ground financially (including all of our 401Ks and IRAs). But the GOP continues to play right into the Dems' hands by leading with their moral crusades instead of staying the course and trusting their fiscal policies to win the day...

Thanks.  I will look those up in the document, hopefully tomorrow.   I always look at the source on stuff like this, not what someone, particularly those adversarial, have to say.

LGBTQ rights Project 2025 takes extreme positions against LGBTQ rights, seeking to eliminate federal protections for queer people and pursue research into conversion therapies in order to encourage gender and sexuality conformity. The policy book also lays out plans to criminalize being transgender and prohibit federal programs from supporting queer people through various policies. The project partnered with anti-LGBTQ groups the Family Policy Alliance, the Center for Family and Human Rights, and the Family Research Council. Project 2025 calls for the next secretary of Health and Human Services to “immediately put an end to the department’s foray into woke transgender activism,” which includes removing terms related to gender and sexual identity from “every federal rule, agency regulation, contract, grant, regulation, and piece of legislation that exists.” The Trump administration proposed a similar idea in 2018 that would have resulted in trans people losing protections under anti-discrimination laws. [Project 2025, Mandate for Leadership, 2023; The New Republic, 2/8/24] Similarly, the policy book calls for HHS to stop all research related to gender identity unless the purpose is conformity to one's sex assigned at birth. The New Republic explains: “That is, research on gender-nonconforming children and teenagers should be funded by the government, but only for the purpose of studying what will make them conform, such as denying them gender-affirming care and instead trying to change their identities through ‘counseling,’ which is a form of conversion therapy.” [The New Republic, 2/8/24] The policy book’s foreword by Kevin Roberts describes “the omnipresent propagation of transgender ideology and sexualization of children” as “pornography” that “should be outlawed,” adding, “The people who produce and distribute it should be imprisoned.” Roberts also says that “educators and public librarians who purvey it should be classed as registered sex offenders. And telecommunications and technology firms that facilitate its spread should be shuttered.” [Project 2025, Mandate for Leadership, 2023] Roberts’ foreword states that “allowing parents or physicians to ‘reassign’ the sex of a minor is child abuse and must end.” Echoing ongoing right-wing attacks on trans athletes, Roberts also claims, “Bureaucrats at the Department of Justice force school districts to undermine girls’ sports and parents’ rights to satisfy transgender extremists.” [Project 2025, Mandate for Leadership, 2023; TIME magazine, 5/16/22] Dame Magazine reports that Project 2025 plans to use the Department of Justice to crack down on states that “do not charge LGBTQ people and their allies with crimes under the pretense that they are breaking federal and state laws against exposing minors to pornography.” [Dame Magazine, 8/14/23] Project 2025 also calls for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to repeat “its 2016 decision that CMS could not issue a National Coverage Determination (NCD) regarding ‘gender reassignment surgery’ for Medicare beneficiaries.” The policy book’s HHS chapter continues: “In doing so, CMS should acknowledge the growing body of evidence that such interventions are dangerous and acknowledge that there is insufficient scientific evidence to support such coverage in state plans.” [Project 2025, Mandate for Leadership, 2023] Going further, Project 2025 also demands that the next GOP administration “reverse policies that allow transgender individuals to serve in the military.” The policy book’s chapter on the Defense Department claims: “Gender dysphoria is incompatible with the demands of military service, and the use of public monies for transgender surgeries … for servicemembers should be ended.” [Project 2025, Mandate for Leadership, 2023]   …summaries of what’s within the rest of the document re: LGBTQ+ concerns. A person can believe their gender is fixed but incongruent with their physiology, but the authors and Trump (by his own words) just see the incongruity of an “expressed gender” that conflicts with what was/is in a person’s pants.
