Two years ago today I was in recovery (at this time) after having the surgery of my life.  What a week that was.

Happy Saturday!  I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Happy Saturday, Had a nice experience out in the market, usually a bit nervous about going out fully feminine there as all very boistrous and interactive but all very lovely, referring to me with terms like madam, sweetie and darling.

Good morning, and happy 2 year anniversary! Wow, that must have been quite the week, and a couple after that. I’m at a little over a week after having my Orchie, and this is my second day without “soreness.” Or course I’ve been extra cautious, so that plays into it, but I’m able to start enjoying the feeling of not having things in my way, ?

ps: If you have a post on your recovery, I would love to read about it.

Congrats on your week post Orchie!  How are you feeling other the soreness going away?

Ellora remember to behave yourself.  I had some difficulty in that regards because of the demands of the farm.  Just try to take it easy and soon it will be history.  After a bit the only difficulty i had was the itching caused by healing.  Not good to be in public when there are pubic itches.:D

Sorry i looked back at the archives but they don't extend back to when i had surgery.

Hugs,

Oh I have been extra careful, and it's not easy when the twins always want me to pick them up or they want to do flying leaps into me, lol. They have been very good during this whole time.

I dont think i will have too many itching issues, but the athletic supporter and extra padding can get difficult at times.

No worries, thanks for checking!

Hope that your recovery continues to go smoothly, Ellora!

I had a busy, but fun day today. Tomorrow, I will forgo most of the coffee because I plan on resting (my disability is being annoying and causing me more pain than usual). I need a day of relaxation before starting the week all over again Monday.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Good Morning! June gloom over here in the San Diego Bay area. The tea is about right, just finished my PB&J taco, and my Lady meds =). I hope everyone else has a great morning and a fabulous day!

(For those of you that do not know what "June Gloom" is, it is what comes after "May Gray." The gloom and the gray are the morning clouds that hang out at the coastline predominantly in the months of May and June. In the afternoon the clouds are pushed back and loom over the ocean, until night time, the clouds greet the sunset and wait along the coastline all over again.)

Its been gloomy here in the Northeast today.  A cup of tea is seeping now!  What kind of biscuit should I have with it?   Tomorrow will be sunny again!

Depending on the tea, I would have a better idea of the proper biscuit ?

The sun came out for my friend in the east county, as it usually does, but not at the coast at the Del Mar Fair. That wasn’t so bad, until a bit later after the breeze kicked in and we didn’t have jackets ready. We all had a great time tho. Tomorrow will probably be cloudy on the coast again ?

Given the hour of the day it was Chamomile tea.  I avoid caffeine in the afternoon and evening now.  I had a few sugar wafers as the package was open.  I ended up sleeping well.

Sure, Jani. the package was open so you had to have some. LOL. Got woke up from a dead sleep at about 1 am with a hell of a heavy rain. Hitting the house like hail. may have been but didn't see any.  First day off since the 4th. Had to play real manager the last 4 days since the store manager had to play Army. A couple times I was pulling my hair out. but made it through. Realized some things I would change if it were my store.

Then today is the day I head to get my hair styled. Being I am still early in my transition not sure how I will get it done. May leave it up to the stylist. He is a retired drag queen and has experience with transgender people.

Good evening from here, sipping coffee after dinner, tastes great, and glad to be home after 13 days on the road down and up the west coast. Here is a pic I took from across the marina in SD and hotel complex I stayed at in the background...

Beautiful photo. In a couple of weeks, it should be sunny like that once the June gloom is gone.

I must admit I have not had any coffee for quite some time, not that that has anything to do with the lack of my posting here. I suppose life has just been super busy that way, not really much of an excuse though. I decided I must do something to whiten my teeth so I stopped drinking coffee, at least for now, and I’m halfway through my box of crest white strips and quite liking the results ...  anyway, the weather has been absolutely crazy here, one day it’s cold the next day it’s hot, followed by a day that starts cold gets hot and finishes cold !  My banged up bad leg hates changes in the weather so it’s been brutal, however I absolutely refuse to take pain meds even though I probably should.

It’s been a bit over two weeks since top surgery, and I was pleasantly surprised to have quite literally no pain just some persistent soreness that went away after the first week. I truly wish the surgeon had told me that it would take a couple  months for the implants to settle down below the lowest part of the pectoral muscle, and that the pectoral muscle needed to relax and stretch and pretty much give up to allow the implant to rest properly where it belongs without assistance. I’ve gotten used to my routine of the elastic strap, or as I call it my “seatbelt”, that holds the girls down day and night, but I’ll be happy when gravity is all I need ?

Hopefully I’ll be able to enjoy a cup of coffee as soon as I’m not paranoid about staining my teeth, I probably shouldn’t be quite so neurotic and just enjoy the caffeinated treat just as I have been since I was two years old, growing up in a Danish bloodline simply means you live on coffee, I actually think it might be  in my blood !

I did at the very least enjoy this pastry called a Napoleon, it’s quite messy as it has layers of soft gooey stuff in between layers of crispy flaky pastry, messy or not, it was so good I wanted to lick the spilled  powdered sugar off the table, I did however refrain from such bad behavior and maintained My lady like composure..

Hugs to all,

Jackie

That is a lovely and inviting picture Jackie.

i'll see the dental hygienist the week after next.  I always get a comment about coffee and tea.  Oh well, for coffee beauty must step back.  That napoleon on the other hand is something i would avoid.........i know one would lead to more and the sugar on the table wouldn't stand a chance.

Hugs,

Charlize

Well, this morning has been great! I just received a scholarship that I didn't know that I had gotten. It came when my bank account is at its lowest, which is better. ??

The number is relative to method of deliver, the time of the dose, and when the blood is drawn. However, I do want to keep away from DVT and other potential issues. I assume I may be getting backed down from my current dose, but my doc told me to stick with the higher dose, so? I also wonder if this has anything to do the my breast growth and mental changes that have been happening over the past few years, like I have some estrogen sensitivity so a little goes a long way or something? I don't have enough data to postulate, but who knows!   With weekly, subcutaneous, shots you expect to see big swings of serum level estradiol from shot to peak to trough. My doctor is interested in mid-week testing (for E and T levels only), which would be post-peak blood serum levels but they will be higher than trough. Most, if not all, resources I've seen online is to measure at trough (which I might do just to do it next time) along with a SHBG, LH, and other metrics.   This is from transfemscience.org for Estradiol valerate in oil, which is very spiky compared to some other estradiol combinations. It's also for intramuscular, which will have a slower uptake and is usually dosed in higher volume due to the slower absorption rate from muscles. They don't have subcutaneous numbers, which I would expect to see similar spikes but higher levels at similar doses due to the relatively higher absorption rate direct from fat.   Are you doing pills, shots, or patches? And when you do get your levels checked are you getting that done when your levels are lowest or some other time?

Both of my parents were from the “North Shore” of Boston.  My mother Lynn and my father Swampscot.  They had an early 1900s Scots-Irish New England diet.  My sister and I were born in the 40s in Ohio well away from New England seafood and in an area where food was more German and Polish.  My first experience with liver and onions was during basic training.  They ate salt cod but never forced us to eat it same with oysters.  My dad ate oysters but my mother wouldn’t.  Anyone who ever ate an oyster can figure that one out.  I grew up eating lamb.  My wife won’t touch it. I love brazed ox tail, again no way. And the list goes on.

My mother was German, so yes, I think it was a cultural thing.  If I'd known you when we were cleaning out my mother's place, I could have sent you her "threat jar".

Been taking it real easy.Another good neighbor of mine and his 15 year old son came over and cut down a couple dead trees on my property.Knew not to do it taking it easy.I had them put the wood near my fire pit in the back yard.Did it and happy where they put it.They knew I had stents put in and needed to take it easy

Wow that is a high number for Estradiol good grief! Testosterone levels are better than mine. I don't remember my Estradiol level but testosterone was 80. To me that is really high but it was in the two hundreds the check in before last one.

I don't understand why this would make a difference being a "dad" I mean, as far as how they would grow.

I don't see why not. I have worn forms since I came out.

I have never worn breastforms, but I assume as long as they don't aggravate your nipples you could.

Every week I've been excited to take my shot, so it's never been an issue. Yesterday, however, I woke up and started my usual "slow roll" and then suddenly realized I had breakfast plans that I had to rush out the door for. After, it was straight into work calls, and then I got the notification from the doctor about things being too high and all the while my mind had completely slipped that I needed take my shot.   Given that I am not asking for medical advice, but sharing my journey, I will note my results: Estradiol at 447 pg/mL and Testosterone was 23 ng/dL, up and down from 26 pg/mL and 526 ng/dL respectively before treatment. Almost flipped the bit! The doc would like my Estradiol closer to 300 pg/mL, so we'll see what Monday's tests state.   Oh, and I teased the dinner with old soccer teammates and never updated the thread! It went well. There were a couple funny moments. One guy, who I was worried about their response, greeted me with "Hey, you've lost some weight!" 😎 And a friend who lives near me picked me up on the way to dinner exclaimed, after we learned one of the invitees might show up with a date, "Wait! We could have brought women?!" To which I instantly responded, "You kind of did, bringing me!" Everyone got a good laugh out of that. 😁

To me there isn't that much difference other the measurement, which side the zipper is on and men's pants have bigger pockets.
    • missyjo
I hope this is not stupid question..I have yet to start n not sure if doc will approve..but once you start growing buds n such, can you still wear forms to get to the size you were?   I'm a dad, so when I start blossoms they will be smaller for a long time n probably need surgical augmented..that's fine. I don't want to go ddd to aa to ddd..   any ideas?   thank you

I like them too.  We had them growing up.  But my father's family were Swedes.

Oh my!  I guess it just goes to show how different tastes can be. Since we don't live near the ocean, Seafood is a rare luxury. We absolutely love pickled herring! Especially my husband and my GF, I guess it's a Ferman/Russian cultural thing.  But most of the kids like it too, and a jar wouldn't last in the pantry for long 😆
    • awkward-yet-sweet
I think the key to that is just not minding eating the same thing repeatedly. Since we produce a lot of our own food here, we end up eating what is in season at the moment. So, when the yellow squash is ripening, we end up fixing squash 20 different ways. When the strawberries are ready, we eat lots of strawberries. It's kind of a different mindset to eat in season when it has become such a part of American culture but the grocery store has everything we want all the time. Like grapes in December.  My family does even things out a little bit by having a greenhouse so we have some fresh things in the winter, but it's not a 100% fix.
