That's bad about the money Debra but I suppose the one thing is that you know who it was and stand a chance of getting it back. I hope all goes well.

I have just relaxed a bit over lunch with a pot of coffee after a busy morning. I went to a bank to sort out my accounts with them as I am locked out online but they did not accept my ID, which they had previously said they would, which puts things in limbo. I only go into the town centre once every couple of months or so, but at least the accounts there are little used. Next it was the dentist where I needed a filling - not so good :( , then on to the optician where there were no issues :) . When setting out I dressed quickly and darted out for the train. I only realised when on my way why some, mainly younger, girls have a habit of tugging at their skirt hem. I had put on a figure hugging dress with a polo neck jumper over and a short winter jacket. I was wearing thicker winter tights but the hem of the dress was only about a third of the way down my thigh. I thought a bit too short but it was too late so I tugged a bit to make certain it was as low as it could be. I was doing the same :D . I wondered who would notice but it seemed to pass without reaction. At least I got to show my legs :D .

Wow! That’s horrible.

I often wonder how people can justify just taking things that don’t belong to them from someone who works hard to build a life. It’s not fun to find out that someone else decided that they were entitled to things that are very personal or critical.

We were set to buy two new tow trucks to replace two older ones, not going to happen yet. They are not cheap where we get them from.My husband and I worked hard this long to accomplish owning our own buisness and this happens.Have a new person already hired to replace this thief, she knows well not to steal from us.

The entire thing is just sickening! I hope you are able to recover some part if not all of what that sorry individual stole from you. Perhaps you need to go after his assets, home and personal property in civil court.

Husband and I were alerted today by our accountant,$20,000.00 missing in our bank account for our towing yard, semi and auto repair shop.Found out it was our guy that does the paychecks, embezzled the money.Did fire him and police were called with him arrested.Did admit taking the money and did take $10,000.00 more lately. It is a mess now which will be resolved by the prosecutor charging him with embezzlement.Meet up with the prosecutor on Friday, will get that $30,000.00 back which he will have to pay back if convicted with jail time.

Thats terrible.   Would he be responsible in paying you back?  Or would insurance cover it?  If waiting on him, it will probably be aclong wait...

The judge might order it, but it doesn't mean that it will get paid back.  Especially if he doesn't have it now.

That would be the reason for a civil suit whereby the plaintiff goes after any and all of the perpetrators assets.

Busy this morning, had an auction at our towing yard.Auctioned off 50 vehicles,5 court seizures and rest of them abandoned. One bidder threw me off a bit,one of the bidding assistants caught it at the right time.He was told to leave and told not to come back ever again.Did it to me twice and this was his third time doing it.One employee of mine was there, she bought her 16 year old son his first car which was a 2001 Chevy Cavalier 4 door.Runs good and her son is satisfied with it.Two bidders were in a bidding war on a 2016 Jeep Wrangler,a court seizure.Court is going to be happy, they are getting a good chunk of money.

Hi,

Our visit with our daughter is going well.  So far we have seen one cheer competition, one football game and will see a second cheer competition next Wednesday.

The high school where my grand-daughter is a cheerleader won the football game.  Had to be because of the cheering.  lol

After a year on a waiting list I finally have an appointment with a psychiatrist which my endocrinologist wanted.  Depending on where this all goes that could end up being my second of two required professional diagnosis.

My good friend has met with surgeons and is hoping to move forward in the next few months.

Have a great weekend and week.

Hugs

Debra, I was a financial accounting management my entire career a CPA.  It is a terrible thing when someone is able to determine a way to cheat you out of ;money, especially that much.  My suggestion to avoid this in the future is to make sure you review every paid bill and payroll and that you or your spouse be the only people able to sign the checks.

You have a good business that you've worked hard to create.  Make sure you put in controls that don't over burden you but protect your business from future crooks.

If you want to talk about control systems, PM me.

Good luck

Hey Willow,

Great being a grandparent isn't it? Excellent advice to our friend Debra, I hate what that rascal did to them. I may be old fashioned, but I handle my own bill pay program rather than do autopay like a lot of companies prefer. It's scary having other people having free access to my account.

Tammy Anne,

If your passing through western NJ and have time for a visit let me know.  I'm off to our local farm market to pickup the weeks produce from some dear friends. I'll probably be working on something around our farm then.  There is always more to do than i can get to but little by little we make progress.

Hugs,

Charlize

Made it back to the Ozarks finally!

At my closest point to you I spent 2 hours stuck on the freeway in a traffic jam crossing the Hudson River. It was a long day!

I got back to find my HVAC system not working, so I have to scramble before the cold weather sets in.

Then get my studio set up and start work.

Along the way, I'm trying to relearn to play the guitar.

Meetings with doctors this week to see what my metabolism is up to, plus the oncologist to provide follow up support from my cancer surgery.

Lots of things to do!

Hugs and smiles to you all!

Happy Sunday everyone. I hope everyone else's weather is better than ours. Maybe 30 and snowing with gusts up to 70mph. This is our first Snow and I am already tired of it.

Found out some good news at work this morning. I use the company's policy manual to practice my female voice. Today I picked harassment. Upon reading it I found that they changed it to add gender identity to it and the discrimination policy too. Yeah it makes me feel better about that. knowing that the company is backing me.

That's awesome news!

I've always heard twins had a nearly mystical connection, this seems to prove it.

Meanwhile it's rainy in the Ozarks this morning, warming but fall seems to lack the color I saw in New England. We're going for a brown look.

I hope everyone has a great Monday, week gets off to a wonderful start and things go smoothly for all.

Hugs and kisses all around!

That lack of color in the fall is because the trees are different. I have noticed how much difference there is between the trees up north and those in the ozarks. There’s a lot less poplar and birch. Fall just doesn’t seem as magical without the color.

Link to comment

Yes. Some years the oaks can do a panoply of russet colors, but this year seems to have been too dry for that. They're just going brown.

The maples, birches and others up north look like someone plugged in the Christmas lights!

@Sally Stone, I have enjoyed reading this thread immensely. There certainly are some things in it that I can relate to, particularly when you wrote that "I wasn’t a man trapped in a woman’s body." This simple statement confirmed two things for me; I am not an imposter here, and I could end up much further along the path than what I imagine now.   I very much look forward to your future posts here.   I hope that by posing this question I'm not committing you to spoil future posts, but can I ask, why you have settled on Bigender as a label? I keep changing my label and have no idea what it might be tomorrow or next week or next month!

This whole Cass Review thing is breaking my heart. I keep imagining how it must be to be a trans kid in the UK atm. I am halfway through reading the review so that I can effectively refute it if and when people cite it here in Australia.

One thing I took on board from a former boss who was an absolute gentleman and fluent conversationalist but a hopeless leader because he was the classic yes man to his superiors, was to take the emotion out of the equation when arguing. Don't use hyperbole. Don't exaggerate. Stick to what you know and defeat your adversary with logic. Of course, your adversary will double down and make an even bigger fool of themselves, and not even realize that they have lost the argument, nor will they realize that people are laughing at them and not with them. It also helps if you can separate them from their minions.   A conservative elderly uncle, who left school at the age of 12, swears black and blue that taking Ivermectin (sheep dip) prevents Covid because he knew someone who knew someone else who took it and despite that person being momentarily in close contact with people who had Covid, didn't come down with it. "Well, you're the one with the science degree!" I said.   A lot of people argue out of ignorance. They base their points on populism and rumor. I rarely argue, but when I do, it is in an attempt to push back. Another favorite saying that I use is "Rumors are started by haters, spread by fools and believed by idiots." I then ask, "Which two are you?" 😉

Good morning, all!!! Cloudy today with some light rain coming. Not a day to work outside.   I will vacuum the house and the head out to our local hardware store after I get cleaned up. Time to buy a new bird feeder for the back porch.   I'm sorry the job didn't work @KymmieL! Hang in there.   It sounds like a busy time for you at work @Willow. Finding reliable people is so hard these days.   Time for another cup of coffee before I start cleaning!!   Enjoy this beautiful day we've been given.

Nostalgia is an emotion. It is the feeling of enjoying events from the past. People with nostalgia will often look at or use old things that they were familiar with years ago. This is because people feel more connected to those past times that they enjoyed, usually because it reminds them of how long it has been since they last connected to such past times. Examples where people may have the feeling of nostalgia includes watching old TV shows, using old technology that was very enjoyable, and playing with toys that you played with as a child. These memories are usually misleading, and can make someone wish that they could be young again, even if their childhood was mediocre. Human brains often leave out boring or bad memories, which can cause incorrect feelings about their childhood.

CAT FACTS A cat's jaw cannot move sideways. The only domestic animal not mentioned in the Bible is the cat   A house cat’s genome is 95.6 percent tiger, and they share many behaviors with their jungle ancestors, says Layla Morgan Wilde, a cat behavior expert and the founder of Cat Wisdom 101. These behaviors include scent marking by scratching, prey play, prey stalking, pouncing, chinning, and urine marking. Cats are believed to be the only mammals who don’t taste sweetness. Cats are nearsighted, but their peripheral vision and night vision are much better than that of humans. Cats are supposed to have 18 toes (five toes on each front paw; four toes on each back paw). Cats can jump up to six times their length. Cats’ claws all curve downward, which means that they can’t climb down trees head-first. Instead, they have to back down the trunk. Cats’ collarbones don’t connect to their other bones, as these bones are buried in their shoulder muscles. Cats have 230 bones, while humans only have 206. Cats have an extra organ that allows them to taste scents on the air, which is why your cat stares at you with her mouth open from time to time. Cats have whiskers on the backs of their front legs, as well. Cats have nearly twice the amount of neurons in their cerebral cortex as dogs. Cats have the largest eyes relative to their head size of any mammal. Cats make very little noise when they walk around. The thick, soft pads on their paws allow them to sneak up on their prey — or you! Cats’ rough tongues can lick a bone clean of any shred of meat. Cats use their long tails to balance themselves when they’re jumping or walking along narrow ledges. Cats use their whiskers to “feel” the world around them in an effort to determine which small spaces they can fit into. A cat’s whiskers are generally about the same width as its body. (This is why you should never, EVER cut their whiskers.) Cats walk like camels and giraffes: They move both of their right feet first, then move both of their left feet. No other animals walk this way. Male cats are more likely to be left-pawed, while female cats are more likely to be right-pawed. Though cats can notice the fast movements of their prey, it often seems to them that slow-moving objects are actually stagnant. Some cats are ambidextrous, but 40 percent are either left- or right-pawed. Some cats can swim. There are cats who have more than 18 toes. These extra-digit felines are referred to as being “polydactyl.”
