That's awesome news!

I've always heard twins had a nearly mystical connection, this seems to prove it.

Meanwhile it's rainy in the Ozarks this morning, warming but fall seems to lack the color I saw in New England. We're going for a brown look.

I hope everyone has a great Monday, week gets off to a wonderful start and things go smoothly for all.

Hugs and kisses all around!

We get to meet in a couple weeks, excited

Great news!  Very happy for you!

I do think it's interesting.  Does anyone know the statistics for transgender twins? fraternal vs. identical?  Is it common for both twins to be transgender?

Getting up, getting ready for a day of doctor visits.

I'm sort of excited, sort of nervous. This will be a day of lab workups.

Good morning/noon everyone! I already had some coffee for the walk home because of the chilly weather. I had to go to the laundromat to retrieve something and it was cold out.

I narrowly averted a $60 mistake. Sunday morning I did laundry and I was charging my battery backup for my phone and devices when I had a blonde moment and forgot to retrieve it from the attendant. Yesterday I didn’t even realize it until I was headed out to work and didn’t have time to go back and get it. So today I went right away to see if it was still there and to my relief it was. The attendant had kept it safe for me and even said that someone we both know of tried to fake that it belonged to them twice but they didn’t pull it off. So I was happily reunited with my stuff and found out that I need to be careful around this other person who tried to steal it. The kicker is that they have a crush on me and even though I don’t have any desire to reciprocate, it’s a good excuse to tell them to go away now. Some people.

Congrats on getting your battery pack back!  Its very annoying to lose them.  Do you actually know the person that was trying to steal it? Are they person crushing on you?

Josie Beth, is there any chance they were going to "rescue" it and give it to you?

This other person I mean.

I always hate to think ill of someone unless I'm certain they were up to no good.

But it's great that you recovered your things.

So now you know things about two people, one who has a good heart, and one who bears watching.

My street is lined with red maples. Driving towards or from my house this time of year is beautiful. They are a bright vivid red.

Went to a specialist last week. Good news, I’m having surgery to correct my deviated septum and some other sinus issues. Surgery is not until spring, but I’m already looking forward to breathing better in the not too far future.

The kettle is on and I’ll soon be having a nice cup of herbal tea to go, on the way into the office.

I hope everyone has a great day!

*hugs*

I am thinking that I need my deviated septum fixed as well.  Did they discuss a nosejob at the same time?  Do you know if it's an option? If I'm having surgery, I wouldn't mind making my nose a little more feminine.

So much for my day off. We got the white crap this morning which meant the the District manager couldn't open the store today to give me a day off. So guess who got to do it again. then our morning counter person called in sick. that left me to run the front alone from 7:30 till noon. Oh what joy it was. Hope it will look good on the pay check. With the snow would have had to cancel my VA appointment in Cheyenne anyway.

Got a pot o coffee dripping. However may crash out before it is done. Stick a fork in me I am done.

Sara, Can I ask what are the symptoms of the deviated septum?  My mom has been diagnosed. I often wonder if I also do.

Hopefully you can get by without back surgery, the results are quite often very iffy.

Problem is I can get in December to see the specialist.I have my GCS in January which can be a conflict

@KymmieL I am constantly stuffy despite taking prescription nasal sprays and oral antihistamines. I am also prone to sinusitis and sinus infections as a result. Symptoms can vary and it also depends on how bad the deviation is. Just because you’re stuffy or get sinus infections does not mean you have a deviated septum. It really requires a scope of your nose and sinus cavity to diagnose.

My deviation is bad enough to require corrective surgery, but many people have small deviations with no ill effects. In fact, most people have some type of minor deviation. I’ve read up to 80% of the population.

If you have any issues breathing, I highly recommend going to see a doctor and not relying on the internet for a diagnosis and treatment plan.

Sara,  I was just looking for a possible cause for my getting stuffed to the rafters at night. I go see my respiratory therapist in about a month.

Finishing up my coffee, today is "redo the studio" month.

Going to be super busy trying to get my studio here in the Ozarks back into production.

I hope some of it - at least the drawing poption - will be functioning in a week. Painting studio may take the rest of the month.

While I was in Maine, it seems the thermostat failed and the whole place is musty, some mold spots growing on surfaces. Clorox, lemon oil, and elbow grease before things are good again. Haven't even hooked up my sound system yet, but may try that first, since it may help my mood while I scrub.

Wishing everyone a productive, happy day! With hugs!

Ohhh, sorry to hear about the thermostat issue.  Mold is a terrible problem as it seems to get everywhere.  I hope the cleaning goes easy.  Yes get the stereo connected!

Comparison can be deadly.  If the 23 year old beauty queen is the standard for women, all others are not real women.  If Jocko Willink is the standard for men, all other men are not real men.   I read an essay about the mermaid and transgender people. There is a statue of a mermaid in a Danish harbor.  She looks wistfully back at the sea, where she cannot go because she is human above, but neither can she walk on the land, because of her lower half.  Psychologists have noted a fascination with mermaids by trans kids.  TG folk, using the mermaid analogy,  can feel like we can neither mountain climb nor explore the depths because of our condition, but there is plenty we CAN do.  As humans we can both climb mountains and explore the depths.   Not all women give birth. Not all men become fathers.  Not all men can pull cable wire all day long, walk iron safely, or heft 600 pounds in a dead lift.  That does not mean they are not men.

Sally, thank you for deciding to post your life experiences. They have certainly struck some chords with me, and have caused me to look again at my life and where I am going.  I will not take up your thread with my thoughts, but suffice to say that I was commissioned into the military (RAF) as an aviator in 1963. Fortunately my cross-gender feelings were mild and easily suppressed. It is only in later life that they have come to the fore.   I look forward to reading more.   Karen

I tried the superglue and it didn’t stick to the plastic bag. So I am using some chicken cutlet forms until I find a cheap replacement or go more permanently and get top surgery. I just need to get a therapist note for insurance to cover the surgery. I’ll use Tegaderm repair on the ripped on special occasions like my cousins wedding.

The bridal shower went very well. My wife, mother and I went. We bowled (I sucked at it) and went to a bar afterwards. I was totally accepted by my family and the brides friends. That is what I had been expecting from this side of my family. My one cousin who got married last year told me that she wished I had went as myself instead of listening to my mother telling me to go in boy mode.

It doesn't just seem that it is, it actually is. aging trans people are left out of nearly 90% of all the help said to be available to transgender people.   Here in Texas, there are not many, if any actually created for aging transgender people. Planned Parenthood pretty much has only been active for trans youth, primarily, as of late. I can't even find legal help for discrimination cases that would help by allowing me to show that it is trans care related. By the way, I don't qualify for medicare as I am turning 55 this year. I also can't get Medicaid either.    Trans youths are not the only ones needing help. Aging trans need just as much help, BUT, are pushed aside as though we as older transgender people, do not matter. I agree the youth are our future, but until the youth decides to listen to what is being taught to them instead of thinking they know everything, the youth of the nation will be our demise.

Wednesday CNA was rather agreeable today (unusual for her). She basically just stated, "you really need to read your bible." I answered, "yes thank you, I do!"   She wanted to tighten my bra bands and I told her I don't like them too tight.  She said, "oh yeah, yours are just fat and not milk ducts so they aren't heavy."   That started into a conversation about how a bra works, and that the band/gore support the majority of the weight. The bands just helps keep things aligned.    Also, my mammograms say, "scattered fibroglandular tissue" just like a third of women out there. They most definitely have milk glands.

This tread is based on the titling of a bill.  That is what the judges ruling spoke to.  Please keep on topic.  If one wishes to write about rest room funding one can start a topic.      Pity the title did not also mention restricting the rights of the parents who support their children.  Perhaps that is only important if a child tries to speak to a teacher about gender issues.  Then, suddenly, parental rights become important.   Hugs,   Charlize

WEARINESS When stress from adverse or challenging events in life occur continually, you can find yourself in a state of feeling emotionally worn out and drained. This is called emotional exhaustion. For most people, emotional exhaustion tends to build up slowly over time.
