Welcome everyone. Coffee is ready.

Big day for me today! Have an appointment at 10 at ULTA getting new lashes. Then lunch with my Shawn! Then my next laser treatment.

At 3:30 I sign release forms for a taped Transgender Interview. Then it's full makeover time! WoooHooo!

A French news team is doing a story on The Transgender community in Palm Springs and the greater Coachella Valley.

This is all being done in conjunction with the Coachella Festival and The Stagecoach Country Festival all this Month into May.

Pouring my second cup NOW! Then off to the shower

I'm so excited!

Good morning from an increasingly green NJ.  I'd be busy doing the first grass cutting if it weren't for the goats.  Instead i check and repair fences and move the landscaping service to the next pasture.  It's been a late spring here but yesterday we were close to 80 F.  In the evening i went out under the full moon and listened to the frogs sing of love.

@Willow  We do use a couple of buckets at the house.  That way i know what the trees are doing in the woods.  Tubing is critical for us.  450+  buckets scattered over acres of hillside is more than this gal could deal with every day.  Tubing also allows for a vacuum system which greatly increases sap volume.

Time to make a cuppa for the wife and a second for me.

Hugs,

Charlize

Well the appointment went well, did get the pin out. Now I have a finger that doesn't bend. not bending it for 7 weeks. It is going to take some time to get it working again. Start physical torture oh I mean therapy. next Wednesday. Still off work for another 2 weeks.

A couple nice days ahead, 65 today 68 tomorrow. with no (shh) w-i-n-d hope you all have a great day.

Getting the pin out is the first step to healing and getting back use of the finger.  I feared therapy when I broke my wrist but it wasn't bad at all.  My therapist was kind and was not into torture!  Heal up!!

Good  luck with the finger Kymmie!

It's warmer here now. I planted out the tomato seedlings and runner beans, plus courgettes. I use containers for most so they will settle in the greenhouse before going out. Then came morning coffee!

A bit of a mixed afternoon. A bit of an embarrassing incident at the local small supermarket as a checkout operator had commented about me to another woman checking out her shopping. I hadn't really noticed but when this woman turned round and looked at me I just smiled and said hello as I thought it must be someone I knew (I have poor facial memory). Later in the (busy) car park she flagged me down as I was leaving and apologised to me, explaining what had happened. I was happy for that, but it was a bit irritating as she went on a bit  (good and bad at the same time? :/ A loveley gesture though even if she was only feeling guilty ). Then on to mother's where she greeted me with 'What are you wearing?' and 'It looks like a girl's dress'. Yes it was and I have worn it many times without comment. I have never really come out to her as she has memory issues (she had a stroke). Not a problem but a couple of frustrating issues in an otherwise lovely day lol.

Hi,

We faired better than a lot of places as yesterday’s storms went through. Really nothing more than rain and heavy wind.  But no damage.

Continued cool and breezy today.

Kymmie, I’ve had PT, but shoulder and knee after surgeries and never after having been immobilized.  I expect getting it moving again will be hard to begin with but do your best and keep up with the home exercises as much as you can.

Charleze your syrup collection is far more modern than any I’ve ever read about.

What a wonderful way to describe the sounds.  We love to hear the peepers in the wetland across the road.   Its definitely a sign of Spring!

Today was great except for having no power for 10+ hours. Of course our area is not THE area so it was last.

Other wise it was 73 light breeze. headed out on the bike a couple times. Fantastic being in the wind again.

Have a great rest of your day all.

Very confusing here today as it is Easter - Happy Easter Everyone! On a Sunday I would normally do the shopping and then have some wine with lunch but it has been more like a weekday so I cooked a joint of meat and made a pot of coffee as well as opening wine without realising lol. Luckily one thing I like (similar to people having different dishes at the table) is to have different drinks at the same time. Well the shops will be open tomorrow and I will have Sunday without the wine ? The weather is beautiful though and I have had a lovely walk.

Relaxing at a hotel in NC. Already had a complimentary breakfast this morning, while watching a bit of The Hobbit on the big screen tv while sitting on a barstool. Some people were dressed ready to go to their respective Easter events. I might go to an  Easter egg hunt, and watch everyone running around looking for eggs.

Good late morning, everyone. I haven't been here in awhile, and it's almost lunch time. I can't drink coffee, but I just had my morning smoothie a bit late :)

I hope you're all doing well. It sounds like everyone is enjoying the warmer weather. Someone mentioned gators! All I get are flocks of geese. Later in the summer I might see herons and otters on the river.

I'm going to check out what I've been missing on the forum, now. I hope something wonderful happens for each of you today! Sending the sincerest good vibes to you all ❤️

Good morning everyone

its another beautiful day here.  Supposed to be windy and rainy tomorrow.  Seems like we are all getting similar weather these days from west to east.

Coffee is is good today.  I haven’t had any for a few days with having to get out of the house early.

All is well, life is good.

Having had my second cup i'm off to do morning chores and then a day of work in the blueberries.  Heavy snows destroyed the netting and support system for it.  Without the nets we will get no berries instead of the hundreds of pints we pick each year.  I need those berries.  They keep my eyes blue.

Hugs,

Agh! the pollen season has begun.  I had the windows open on Sunday and I've been congested and sneezing since then.  On the other hand buds are forming on the trees and perennials are peeking their heads through the ground.

Hugs All, Jani

Had an impromptu drive to Lincoln, NE over the weekend. My oldest needed help unloading his Uhaul. So me and Grandma went and helped what we could. With my healing finger and older age. I wasn't much help but we got it done. Grandma entertained the grandbabies.

Hit some nasty weather on Friday. but all is well. Hope to get clearance to go back to work soon.

What do you do when you feel triggered?

kind of in a null state

WEARINESS When stress from adverse or challenging events in life occur continually, you can find yourself in a state of feeling emotionally worn out and drained. This is called emotional exhaustion. For most people, emotional exhaustion tends to build up slowly over time.

I am glad your schools are flush with excess spending money, but that is not the situation here in CA.  Back in 1978 an Initiative and Referendum law was passed that limited property taxes severely and basically cut funding from Property Taxes to pennies of the amounts needed to even minimally fund school districts.  Even the U.S. Supreme Court which upheld the law on Federal and Constitutional grounds nevertheless wryly commented in its decision that the state electorate had lost its collective mind in enacting the law.  Our schools are funded through the State's General Fund which receives other tax sources for creating the entire state budget. The General Fund and the legislature try to give  adequate funding  to the primary and secondary school districts as well as college districts and other obligations all from the same limited funds. There are also strict limits on assessing property taxes that actually prevent them from paying for other services directly affecting property ownership which is their proper place, and so even property related services come from our General Fund. Your property tax money seems to be ear-marked for schools which is wonderful and I hope they use it according to your thoughts, but as said we have a different problem out here in CA.  I love my state but do recognize its short comings.  Point of information, the tax law that is creating problems came from the same small area of the state as the proposed referendum on Trans Youth.

The numbers of those negatively affected are significant and discouraging, but the good news is that "over half" of Trans youth live in safe states, and such states do exist.

Seems like a reasonable agreement.  Seattle stays out of Texas, Texas stays out of Seattle.  Weird that the Seattle hospital had a business license in Texas...

Seems to me the time and cost is already being spent....on lawsuits.  And schools are absolutely flush with cash, at least around here.  They get enough property taxes, they need to learn appropriate use of funds.  Buy a few less computers and a few more bathrooms, and spend less time on athletics and I'd bet you a hamburger that the issue would be solved in a year.   To me, it seems like the whole bathroom thing is like lancing a boil or a cyst.  A sharp initial pain, and done. People are just resistant to doing it.      I think I could solve most of it...but politicians get too much press off of this to want it solved.   1.  Universal use of individual, gender-neutral, private bathrooms 2.  Universal use of individual, gender-neutral, private spaces for changing athletic clothes 3.  Emphasize co-ed rather than gendered sports.  Focus on physical activity, good sportsmanship, and having FUN.  Lifelong enjoyment, not just competition. 4.  Ban for-profit athletic programs at highschool and college levels, and ban betting/gambling related to athletic programs at educational institutions. 5.  Affirm parental rights consistently, rather than treating it like a salad bar.  That means permitting gender-affirming healthcare with parental consent, AND prohibiting schools keeping secrets from parents.  Adopt the "paperwork principle."  If it is on paper, parents 100% have a right to know about it and be informed on paper, including names/pronouns if such are documented.  If it is verbal only, it is informal enough to be overlooked or discussed verbally if needed.
