Hi everyone!

Been awhile since I’ve been on this site. Life is going ok right now. If ok is your stuck in the middle of a CPS case and rent is going up? I’m actually trying to curb my caffeine intake. Not easy for this girl!

Recently I purchased some gold, black, and pink nail polish. I’m wearing the gold right now. Big step from just the clear I’ve only used.

Working at home still but maybe other job (retail) will be opening soon. I guess will be cleaning and doing other things when I come back. Wearing masks and gloves. I actually get anxiety wearing the masks. Anyone else with me on that?

So 2 of my children are now on depression meds. I hope this helps. Poor babies 😢 I love them all so much and never wanted them to have to face what their facing. I would of stayed in the marriage and worked it out but she didn’t want to. I don’t know if the divorce is the whole reason for the depression though.

I see my kids tomorrow from 10 to 4. I asked for later but ex wouldn’t agree. Those are holiday hours. Hope you all are doing well and have a wonderful 4th!

Love and kisses 🥰

Well up date on my interview I was supposed to have this afternoon. I never got a call. zip nothing nada. Have no clue why I didn't get a call. If it happens it happens. Not going to cry over it, I already do that when I even think about it.

Kymmie I’m sorry you didn’t get the call you thought you’d get.  Trying to get a job or change jobs can be very trying to say the least.  Don’t let it get you done another one, better will come your way.

Group went quite well tonight.  We had 14 participants.  While not the best turn out it wasn’t the worst.  We talked about a lot of things.

talk to you in the morning with my coffee.

Good morning

Happy Independence Day!  On my mother’s side I have direct ancestors who came to “the new world” in the 1600s, and fought in the Revolutionary War.  My father’s family was forced out of Scotland in the early 1800s because the English were worried there would be a rebellion to reseat a Scottish King.

Nice cup of black coffee this morning.  Need to get supplies and gas.  If the weather stays as is we are looking to take the sailboat out onto the ocean tomorrow.  That will be a first for me but it is exactly why I bought this particular boat.  Big enough but not too big.

Stay safe be careful with fireworks.

It is not that I need a job. I am gainfully employed right now. I have also put in for a position at the home office. still nothing there either. but it is the holiday so I really wasn't expecting any response. I was looking to move to begin the new chapter in my life.

blue clouds and sunshine  right now only forecast in the 70s. I do look at probably closer to 80s

Have a safe and happy 4th everyone.

{RANT Warning!}

Well, I am giving up on summer here this year!  Eff it!  I have no hope any more.  Daily temps are still mostly in the 60's and it's still cloudy and drizzly most days.  Here it is July and the weather is no better than it was in March.  It's so gloomy this morning I have to have the lights on.  Hmpft!  Gawd, I hate Oregon weather!  grrrrrr

I'd happily send you ten degrees or so from here if I could. On the plus side, I've apparently become exothermic with HRT as I'm perfectly comfortable in temperatures that would have had me gasping for breath five years ago. Susan's miserable though, so you can have the ten degrees and I can put on warmer clothes.

Hugs!

Hope everyone is having a good day. I sent an email coming out to my parents last evening. They got back to me at noon today. They were shocked but are 100% supportive. I’m so pleasantly surprised, I thought it would take them some time to come around. Finally stopped the happy tears flood about 30 minutes ago.  Next is my little sis. 2 1/2 out of 3 so far. Hugs! Hopefully I can nudge my wife over to fully onboard soon.

Happy 4th, everyone.  Mine started awful then turned wonderful.  My lifelong bestie from back home called and talked for over an hour.  It's been months since we hooked up.  He had gotten the new number for another bestie that I lost track of years ago.  Her and I texted and are phoning tomorrow to catch up on the missed years.

I'm not a big fan of the 4th. My dogs are such a handful of stressed out furriness, that me and my partner spend most of the evening doing doggie damage control. Which is exactly what is starting to happen right now.

Well. The ex actually gave me 4 to 11pm. I was able to enjoy the 4th of July with kids. It gave us time to see fireworks. We drove around and had a lot of fun! When I dropped them off my ex and my oldest daughter were sitting in the driveway playing cards. I said happy 4th but she didn’t comment back.

I’m sitting in the dark in a pink shirt and a blue mini skirt. I feel very comfortable. I hear a few fireworks in the distance but mostly quiet. I love sitting out here late in the evening.

Took pics at the lake today. Got a beautiful butterfly picture! Plus I’m working on my coloring book. I’ll post my art when I’m done. Spent some time at my moms. I guess you could say it was a good day!

Love and kisses🥰

I had to work and it was a REALLY bad day. Relaxing today and thinking about going to the store for some retail therapy.

My wife and ate out with four friends on the socially-distanced patio at a local restaurant, last night.  We haven't seen them since last year.  I got an interesting comment: "Your face looks thinner."  Well, I guarantee that I haven't lost weight.  If my face is different, it must be because it is more feminine!

I didn't think my face was still changing that much.  It has been three and a half years since I started HRT.  But our friend noticed a difference in the last year.  That made my weekend! 😄

Hi everyone

I hope everyone had a safe and happy fourth. I had a wonderful day today.  We took our sailboat out today.  Where we live and keep our boat it takes 3 ½ to 4 hours just to get to the closest inlet.  But really worth it today.  Once we were on the ocean, I put up the sails and we sailed for several hours.  Went out past the 3 mile limit. Went for a swim. Ate three meals on the boat .  Saw a sting ray breach and a pod of dolphins.

a really great day.  Even my wife who often hates the boat had a great time.

Acknowledging how much the pandemic has changed my habits.  The stores here in NJ are open once again, and still, I haven't been shopping.  Before the lockdown one of my fondest activities to shop, yet now, it seems to have lost some that previous luster.  The upside is that my my Macy's charge card has a zero balance, something else that is quite unusual for me.

I'm thinking a little shopping trip for me is well overdue!

Good morning

Ah coffee!  The morning elixir.

Thanks Carrie!

Sally, Things never got real bad here.  Then they started reopening things.  We even went to our favorite restaurant twice.  Then Memorial Day hit and oh my gosh. Our numbers in our little county have gone up and up.  We only go out on our boat or Walmart pick-up. We don’t consider anything else safe.

looks like a beautiful day today, and yet we’ve had a clap of thunder and a rain warnin.  Strange!

Congrats, Tory!  (Love the name, btw 😁) Finally making those first steps of progress does feel SO good, doesn't it?  With practice, those needles become easier, too.  I know, I've been known to almost black out from shots and I did black out a few minutes when I got my ears pierced.  Despite working in a hospital for years (in I.T.), I've been terrified of needles and anything medical my whole life.  I was that kid that used to scream, cry and try to run away.  I am so sensitive to pain, I swear I can feel a needle inside my veins, which isn't really possible, but it makes my stomach flip.  Being fairly healthy I've escaped any "medical assaults" until I started HRT.  It's critically important to monitor your chem levels throughout the process, so hang in there, it really does get better.   A couple of tips from experience... one, don't be afraid of telling them about your fear/anxiety.  I was so embarrassed to tell them but found they are very understanding and will usually thank you for warning them, because you are not the only one.  They've had patients pass out, so they would much rather know ahead of time.  Two, if they're not already using them, ask the blood drawer to use a "butterfly".  The needle is so short/tiny you can barely feel it and it doesn't move around while they're drawing.   Recent experience with a blood disorder which requires that I get frequent phlebotomies brought on a whole new level of fear.  This is similar to donating blood and uses a larger needle so they can capture the larger blood cells.  When they first told me about it, I was absolutely terrified!  I seriously didn't think I could do it, but my life depended on it.  So, I told the phlebotomist I might pass out and then used distraction techniques like you mentioned.  It really hurt at first but eased up after they got the needle in and settled for about 15 minutes while a pint drained out.  Each time I've had one since, it got easier and easier until now (after a dozen or so), believe it or not, I can do it without any anxiety at all.  The experienced nurses/technicians are SO good at what they do!  The great thing is that after I got used to that big needle, I don't even feel the little ones anymore!  So, to anyone with the needle fear, I now recommend donating blood as a [courageous] way to resolve the problem.   For HRT, I would suggest you ask for estradiol tabs that you can dissolve under your tongue.  I still don't think I could give myself shots, especially into the muscle.  Good luck with your therapy.  In a couple of months you're going to start feeling much more like "yourself".

Thank you - does it sound sort of like early Kansas to you?
    • Shay
aha... I was also the person who wrote procedures for ISO and gage calibration traceable to NIST....   I definitely can believe it - I would suspect comparing general population and trans that the trans have a higher density of left handedness than the general population. I guess that's why a lot of us come from a creative background. That to would be an interesting study comparing trans creative backgrounds (music, art, theatre, quilting, knitting sewing, crafts, etc.) to the general population. I would guess the percentage would also be higher for trans.

Yep, similar.  Green belt and am currently a fraud and security analyst as part of my job. I am constantly buried in data and I love it. Found one study, behind a paywall ; however, the abstract makes mention of: Numerous studies demonstrate that male-to-female (MTF) transgender people have higher rates of left-handedness, but the theoretical basis for this difference is not well described.
    • Shay
I come from an Industrial Engineering, statistics, 6 sigma, Green Belt background... sounds like you have a similar statistics and data background or interest. Certainly need larger samples and I'm sure the confidence level on our study is not very good. It was just interesting and I have heard about the studies you refer to.    What I would really find interesting (and there probably is one) - a study of transpeople and handedness compared to handedness of the major binary genders and maybe handedness of intersex and all the other gender categories.
    • SaraAW
Too bad we didn't get more respondents, difficult to really draw any conclusions from the sample size, the fact it was sourced from here only and self-reported. Still, definitely interesting. Does not reflect the larger populations distribution of handedness by a very large margin. There is still so much we don't know in regards to the origins of handedness. it would be interesting if a larger study were conducted and if it would provide any additional insight to how / why handedness develops. There are a couple of studies showing exposure in utero to a particular synthetic estrogen used in the 50's to early 70's increased prevalence of left-handedness. There are studies also showing that exposure to androgens in utero may have a small impact to gender. To me, there is something to explore here to see if there is any correlation between being trans and handedness.

Congratulations, Ronin! Glad that you’re happy with your progress. More good things to come! *And isn’t it great that you can choose your chosen family?

Today is pop and rock reimagined in funk, swing and big band. A mix of Postmodern Jukebox, Scary Pockets and some other bands.
    • Shay
That is excellent news - I will be listening this weekend. I remember meeting Rich Williams at the University of Toledo when they had 1 album out and they were opening for Queen. My band Silverhorse released a single called WEARINESS in late 1979 and WMMS in Cleveland kept playing our song and Carry On My Wayward Son back to back saying we sounded like Kansas. I thought that was weird being we had no keyboards or violin... but I'm happy people seemed to like us. Too bad the band imploded just before we signed with Atlantic Records - but that's another story. For now I'm including our song Weariness - let me know if you think there is any resemblance. weariness.mp3

Thanks for pointers! I’ve had to remind my surgeon and nurse that despite the fact both K and my best friend here with me are Nurses; this is a totally different experience for us both. So I’ve been following their guidance to a T!   having some lunch now. Probably rest a bit then walk around a bit after while. ☺️

Hi Ciel,   Welcome.  It's perfectly okay to question your gender, and there's no rush to judgment required.  It took me 40 years to find my happy place, but that was in the era mostly before the internet and digital socializing.  I'm sure by asking questions and sharing your thoughts and feelings, you'll find your happy place in no time, just don't feel pressured to decide.  Discovering our true gender, or genders, is a journey to be enjoyed and savored.
    • Sally Stone
Kylie, this comment just cracked me up, so obviously you haven't lost your sense of humor.  Gosh, I'm still chuckling so much I can't sip my rum and coke.  The silliness aside though, I am so glad you are on the mend, and I wish you the speediest of recoveries.
