I get it. I'm in February (the 4th). I am so, so excited. The wait is finally almost over. I've been ready since we scheduled it. I'm guessing you're the same.

I'm so happy for you! You've got people who love you in your corner! Sounds like everything is coming up Debra!

Hugs!

We have a department pot luck tomorrow at the office. I just finished making a raspberry cheesecake with a dark chocolate drizzle. Looking forward to trying a bunch of different foods tomorrow. Gym clothes are in the wash now, as I know I’ll need them tomorrow after the pot luck. I hope everyone had a great weekend and can enjoy the little bit that’s left. *hugs*

Now I'm all hungry for cheesecake. That sounds delightful. Pot lucks are the bane of my diet this time of year. Still, this is why I work out: So I can eat garbage.

Hugs!

I have a work Christmas luncheon tomorrow, my wife’s MS Christmas luncheon on Saturday and my department at work is having a bake off on Monday, and I’m still full from the pot luck on Monday.  I’m not sure I can log enough hours in the gym this season. I think I’ll be eating nothing but salads for the rest of my meals for awhile.

Well, the kettle is on, it’s not snowing at the moment and we’re one day closer to the weekend, so things are starting pretty good this morning. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

*hugs*

Long commute today with very hot coffee in my travel mug.  Listened to an audio book and it makes the time go by nicely.

At work now and so thrilled TransPulse is back up.  Posting madly like a teenager can text.  LOL

Have a wonderful day all.

glad everything is good with the site. I was worried for a moment.  My Saturday of course the white crap is falling. and I have a VA appointment. probably not going to make it. me and crappy roads don't get along. Hope they clear by tomorrow. Have 2 appointments then. plus the wife and youngest are going to NE to drop off presents to my older 2 sons families.

So, I am planning some girl time. Hope I can dress some for my appointments. Even if I have to take some cloths and my purse out to the car today when my son is at work. I will.  Right now I have to go out dressed when I can.

Saw the VA endocrinologist Nov.29th and told him that our little six month long experiment on T trying to resurrect my libido wasn't working and I wanted off. He said with no gonads I'd have to be on one of the sex hormones or else the bones will age rapidly and I'd be bent over looking at my feet when walking,  so he's put me on self administered estrodiol valerate injections every other week, no big deal. Guess I'm gonna be a girl after all.

I don't see that as being a bad thing.  LOL

I was asked about doing the injections. I know they work better being directly put into the blood stream.  However, I am afraid of needles and there is no way I could do it myself.  Not in a million years.  If I could have someone do it for me Id go that route.  But it would get expensive to go in just to get a quick shot.  It would be nice to not have to melt these big estrogen pills under my tongue though.

Finished my coffee, about to go to my drawing when I discovered the site was back up! Yay! I've missed everyone.

I have a VA appointment with my gender therapist tomorrow morning. Some decisions to make about my path towards transition. Wish me luck in finding the correct path forward.

I'm a little envious of those ahead of me heading towards girlhood while I still struggle with dysphoria over these floppy parts. All things in their own time, I suppose.

Big Hugs for all!

Good luck TammyAnne! Smartest thing I ever did was when I first went to VA many years ago, it's saved me a fortune in what I would have paid in counseling, HRT and other medical expenses.

You realize, of course, that that's exactly what I was thinking two years ago, hehehe 😎.

Which is to say, while we're all on our journeys, each with its unique pacing and associated calendar dates, at the same time we're able to be here encouraging and supporting each other no matter the milestone each is working through.

That's why I remain active here!

Hugs,

Astrid

I used to live north of Boston, too! Arlington, then Somerville, then Bedford and Westford!

Yes, we're all moving at our own pacing on similar journeys. While I'd like to be less impatient things proceed at their own speed.

Congratulations on the new business venture @Debra Michelle  I wish you and your husband nothing but success.

Well, snow is falling again, so it’s going to be a messy commute today. A nice cuppa should keep me warm on the way in. The weekend is almost here and I have my work Christmas luncheon today, so things are looking pretty good.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Good news to see that things are going well (except for the sloppy commute) for people.

It's time for me to hit the drawing again, but wanted to check in to say that after a year of meeting with my gender therapist (the delay was mine, not the VA or therapist), I am being referred for the start of HRT, presuming my blood workup shows me healthy enough. I am so looking forward to becoming myself.

I've been smiling all the way back from the therapy session.

This is fantastic news!   I am so happy for you two.  Having trans employees is the icing on the cake too.  It must of been such a relief for them to have a boss like you.
Good luck with your business!

I've spent the past week on pins and needles waiting for my first therapist appointment to finally come, hoping that it would feel like a step forward, and honestly, it was pretty much exactly what I hoped it would be. Some real talk, some affirmation, and offers of guidance before I could even ask the question. I wanted to hear optimistic realism, and that's what I heard.   I keep waiting for that moment when I ask myself what the heck I'm doing and why I'm pursuing this course, and so far, it hasn't happened. I've had borderline crippling doubt about every big decision in my life, except this one.

Well, I suffered for years not knowing or understanding how I felt or why.  Depression, anger and periodic “needs” involving being feminine.     When things got too bad to deal with I finally sought help.  It didn’t take long for my therapist to figure me out.  I am on hrt but no plans for gcs.     like others here, could I forget who I am?  No way.  Could I stop everything that I’ve done since ?  Not likely.  But, I am not full time.  That’s because my wife of 48 years is not happy about this but I don’t desire to let things go.  Lastly, I’m not ready to come out completely.   Could I go back to being cis, not likely.  At least not without bringing back extreme depression.

Salutations Tristan! Welcome to Transpulse!   We're glad you're here. I'm going to stop short of chanting, "One of Us! One of Us!" Please avail yourself of the boards and the discord server. Join in the conversation, ask questions, participate as much as you're comfortable with. I think you'll find us an understanding and supportive community of folks who have, let's face it, been there.   I look forward to getting to know you!   Hugs!

Here goes!   My name is Tristan and that maybe the first time I have officially introduced myself that way.  I was born in a body that I dont recognize on so many levels and, as yet, can't fully define.  I have had people try to define me for so many years that I have no idea what I really want for myself and that is part of the problem.   I hope that here I can find friendship and support as I puzzle through the jigsaw of identity that is me.    Right now I would like to use the pronouns he/him.

I know what you mean. For the last 25 years, I thought of my feminine side as a "Michelle" but she only got a couple of chances to make an entrance into the wide world.  Now that I've decided to come out, I realized I would probably need a name that didn't also belong to my cousin.  The only names that felt right were variants of Michael, possibly that 51 years of using it biasing my thinking.  I have (for now) settled on Michaela, although I prefer the spelling "Mikhaila". Ultimately, I'd rather my name be easy to spell...

we have to walk the line between painting a realistic picture to people who starts transition and also just being optimistic and giving hope to people. I love the model where you need to go see a gender therapist that has the job to be very real with you and tell everything about transition not being a miracle cure or something and helping people clear the confusion and on the other hand me personnaly just telling my story of things going far better then they were and not trying to put false shadows in the picture. We need the stories where things don't go too well to warn people but we also need the stories that are going well and that are giving hope. We need hope.
    • KathyLauren
My wife and I enjoy going out together.  No one thinks anything of it, and we don't get stared at.  The only time the question of whether or not we are a couple comes up is when we are asked if we want one bill or two.   My wife was a bit weirded out about being a lesbian through no choice of her own.  She considers herself a "lesbian by marriage".  But she has no reservations about us remaining a couple.  As far as she is concerned, my transition is part of the "for better or for worse" that she signed up for.  I am not sure I could have done the same had the positions been reversed, so I consider myself very lucky.   My wife likes to be bratty.  Sometimes when we are walking down the street and she spots someone looking disapprovingly at us, she will hold my hand, just to give them something to stare at.

Thank you so much i do try my best   Sadly ive lost count on how many TS /TG  that have takend this step  (ie transiton + also in some cases HRT etc...  ) to fast and then crached (incl in here as well as otherwise online ) and its therefore i try to keep this aspect alive as much as i can  and this goes  for  fore all ages  young as well as even older then me  both MTF as well as  FTM  . Its VITAL that we that have transitioned   (with or without HRT or  and  SRS )  DONT  paint up this glorius life  and  happiness  /princess  / Prince life  without also mentioning the struggle and price many have to pay. + the medical risks of this as well as of course what we have gained  of course.   And i would also like to add  reg  our situation over here from  having to high  bounderies (they were  WAY to high )  to be alowed to  start the journey they have now lowerd  to much  and  therefore  we have this  problems  with   more and more  TG`s  /TS   being alowed HRT etc... to YOUNG when they get older  they regret  there  choice .   Also i must also add that of course  there are happy cases   of  (in this case  )  FTM  that have  gone back to female  but as i said  way more that havent been happy ending
    • Jani

Welcome Lily.  I'm glad you decided to come here and that you thought it would help.  There are many kind people here to speak with and even vent every now and again, as life presents challenges.  I'm happy to hear you've been able to break through and speak to someone.  This is good.  Understandably your family knows you well and sees the change in you.  Talk to your therapist about how to address this subject with them.   All my best.
