Article: Why Being TG Is Not a Sin

Hi Carolyn Marie,

This should be required reading for all Christians. Ok, maybe that's a little strong but the article is well written.  Especially this part from the article...

Quote

Transgender persons will tell you they are not “men” putting on “women’s” clothing or “women” putting on “men’s” clothing. Instead, they are declaring an identity much deeper than clothing; they are saying that they are dressing outwardly to match who they know they are on the inside.

This is one of the most common stereotypes of transgendered people.

I'm not trying to spoil the conclusion but this I really liked a lot...

Quote

Transgender identity is about who a person is. It is about their fundamental being as humans created by God in God’s image – an image that God has declared to be good.

It's really a good read. Thank you for sharing this, Carolyn Marie.

He is good hearted and is heading to the right end.  What is missing is that some well abused Bible passages do not really say what people actually said in the earliest "pre-Bible" writings.  The Deuteronomy citation does not actually refer to genders, it refers to frail and marginally able people (quasi mistranslated as women) vs strong and fully able people.  The articles of clothing being actually Armor and implements of war, and the able men putting on the semblance of weakness to avoid military service.  At one point in later chapters of the Bible it refers to cross dressing male spies going into cities the Israelites were intending to conquer.  I know my Bible well enough that I do not argue with those whose minds are made up against me and use those passages toward me.  I shrug and walk away with dignity, and when I am far enough away I break into a full out belly laugh about it.
