Finally came out to some of my family

I finally came out to my parents and brother. Unfortunately it did not go well. At first, they responded with positive statements like, "We love you no matter what.", but once they found out more details about what me being trans meant, they turned on me very quickly. 

 

My brother has been very harsh with his insults and criticisms, and my parents have pretty much written me off.

 

It has only been a few weeks now, but it still hurts very much. I'm happy to have my spouse and therapy to help get me through it. I will remain positive in my transition, and will continue to smile.

I'm sorry it went downhill for you.  I'm sure you asked "what happened to the love?"  Unfortunately they are looking at this through their own lenses and not yours.  I know it hurts but you will survive.  That your spouse is besides you is great.  And a good therapist is a joy to have.

Hello LexiStar975,  Nice to meet you and sorry to hear about this setback with family.  I hope things will improve with time, therapy and their eventual understanding.  Looking forward you have one of the most promising support systems in place...your wife.  Do you know how rare this is with this specific issue?  Down the line she will likely become even more of an integral part of your life than your parents and siblings..lets hope so.  Look on the upside, the closest person you have in your life is your best ally.  That right there is a wonderful thing.

Im sorry to hear. I definitely understand your struggle. Just remember, you're living your life. You're not living anyone else's. Be true to you. Someone gave me that advice not long ago and It has made me stonger and more confident. Stay upbeat and proud. It will all be worth it.
