I am a tgirl Roman Catholic nun, AMA!

After a chat with Dev, I thought it might be useful to do an AMA. As far as I know, I am the only tgirl vowed sister in the Western World. 

 

If you've ever wondered about becoming a nun, and how to square that with being trans, just ask, and I will do my best to answer!

In the Roman Catholic tradition, you may be the only full sister in a convent order, but in the Episcopal Church there have been several Brothers and Sisters in our orders, as well as priests and deacons.  The Church of England also has priested clergy who are Trans and well known.  Two of my Trans friends are also Community Solitaries who follow the Benedictine rule. 

 

The very first thing needed though is for the mainframe of the church itself to be openly accepting, which at the minute, the Roman church does not have on an official (IE Pope & Cardinals) open and caring position of full inclusion.  Sadly for all churches it is costing them membership.  Trans people have wonderful spiritual gifts to give all views of religion but because people in general classify anything they do not understand as Sin our gifts are rejected.

In any case, if you ever hear the Lord's call, know that He will have you as His beloved nun.

@Sr Kaitlyn i hope you are still here.  Perhaps, becoming a nun is not something that has much interest on this site.  However, feeling called may be a bit more common.  I think a problem is that people don't hear the Lord calling them.  

 

He has spoken to me on several occasions in the past.  These days I believe he is calling me to do something, and that is why I am now TG.  My problem is that I haven't figured out what it is I am supposed to do.  It must have something to do with being TG, but I have no clue.  I expect I'll figure it out eventually.
