MtF pet peeves

I was thinking, (I know I shouldn't) while I was getting my tires done. What are some of the other girls pet peeves.

One of my major ones. Finding a broken nail when you never knew you hit your hand/nail on anything. Happened last night in the shower. I just stepped in, and started to wash up. I feel my pinky nail pulling. Checking it, yeah, I broke it. don't even remember hitting it on something. I had to bit it the rest of the way off. Didn't want to drip through the house to get the nail clippers.

Anyone else?

figuring out the back and front of cheap panty hose!!

Forgetting to put the tube of lipstick I put on in my purse and realizing I have the wrong wrong wrong color with me when I go to retouch it in the ladies room.

Good one - my nails only tend to break when I don't have clear polish on, especially once they have softened in the shower!

I am greedy so I have two to add :)  both due to the fact that I need to be able to swap convincingly between girl-boy mode in the space of 30 mins or so to be at the school pickup - the first is accidentally smudging or banging my nail polish when its drying (usually due to my own impatience at the start of the day)  and the second is trying to remove eyeliner from under my eyes thoroughly, it always seems to leave a couple of spots that just won't shift! x

Hmm...let's see...

  1. Going through cycles where nails break every other day until I cut them back to start over again
  2. Waiting at least 30 minutes for my natural nails to dry enough to use after painting them, and even then only light stuff for awhile
  3. Gluing...then regluing...then regluing...then regluing artificial nails on
  4. Forgetting I'm wearing makeup until it's all over my pillowcase the next morning
  5. Getting misgendered when I don't use makeup
  6. Trying to remove eyeshadow
  7. Facial hair
  8. Body hair, especially legs (now I cringe seeing leg hair on other men thinking to myself "holy crap my legs used to look that disgusting!")
  9. Having an IT background only to have tech support talk down to me either because they see "Preferred Pronouns" in my email signature or see me as a clueless woman (not necessarily exclusive to IT tech support)
  10. Not being able to walk into Walmart or Target for shoes since apparently chains don't carry Sasquatch size
  11. Payless's lack of Sasquatch size shoes in their stores
  12. Insensitive pharmacy employees
  13. Being visually identified as a woman by everyone around me, yet hearing "sir" during phone conversations

Having to wear construction attire to work every day. You know how hard it is to present as female in steel toe work boots, 4 layers of shirts,  and a carhardt jacket with work gloves and a hard hat on!?! ?

and the shoe thing sucks really bad too. You know Michael Kors doesn’t make size 12 boots!?! ? drives me nuts when I find shoes I love and still can’t have em. I need a toe amputation!

Clothes too!! Go to the store, find stuff you like, and then without being able to try them on going online to guess the correct size and hope it fits. Grrrrr.

Rushing to put on make up, screwing it up, going out with a tried to make it work look, and agonizing until I can fix it.

and waking up with beard stubble.

It’s all in the way you hold yourself, your voice and mannerisms at that point. Just like combat uniforms for the military.

Kristen, it sounds like you need to get measured. Bite the bullet go to the store. Tell them you lost weight and you need to buy new clothes.

That’s not the issue Rithia. Stores don’t stock tall sizes very often. So they can’t be tried on. And I only buy clothes at places like old navy. They don’t measure you. Lol. I have a 33-34” inseam on my pants. And arms that match. I am a large person. Plus i am very broad as well.

And you dont carry yourself as a female when youre carrying a 28’ ladder or 110 pounds of gear. The cis women I work with look like men. Lol. There’s a reason I am 1 of only 2 women out of 150+ in my crew. A good number of men can’t do my job.

The last part pertains to the military out in the field too. ? It’s also why there are no Officeresses.

Maybe get measured in a store that does and then go to the rest room and leave the store? ?

I have to agree with Dakota16.  Working in the IT field and knowing how to build computer's and install OS with even configure Linux with fixing websites and yet when I send emails or talk to tech support, I am talked down to.

My makeup has gotten really good and I am getting a good figure, but when I talk on the phone, I am called sir.  I am glad that I have been making YouTube videos on my channel and have been listening to myself and trying to work on my voice.

Lots of Love

Yeah that phone misgender thing is totally annoying.

When peeps ask my name now I say, forcefully, MISS Michelle. When they throw in sir... I stop them "It's Ma'am!" and repeat Miss... If they continue I blatantly ssy, "We are in the USA not France. My name is Michelle. How many MEN do you know called MICHELLE."  Gets them everytime! ROFL... I get many apologies...

This is more of a society pet peeve i guess, but sometimes some of us don't pass, I've had experiences where I went out and as soon as I walked in the store a girl was standing in line with a guy and she saw me and said really loudly "Oh my God". Killed my confidence and I walked around for like a minute and went home. So my pet peeve is people who react negatively, why can't they just go about their business, why do people have to cruel, why can't people focus on themselves and not others who aren't hurting anyone.

Here is space for discussion on this, since the topic is large and could derail another thread SOMEBODY started.   Could some dear, sweet, kind Moderator pull everything related to this from the Voting for Trump thread and put it here?  I don't know if you can do that; I am the new girl on the block after all (blinks sweetly).

Good morning everyone,   It’s Thursday well as least I took my Thursday Medications as sorted out in my weekly dispensary caddy. Today’s coffee is Folgers Breakfast Blend served HOT, black and strong. My wife and I are going to explore the Western and Southern coasts of Saginaw Bay and hang out in Bay City, MI. today.    @Willowonce @Abigail Genevievepointed out the word usage in your post. I read it and laughed, enjoying the snarky tone of the comment. Since it was spelled correctly I thought maybe you meant for it to read just as you typed it. Then the kinder gentler me thought it would be better if I changed it. I’m not saying I corrected it, I just changed the severity of the sentence.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Things are moving quickly now that I have my drivers license and social security card in my new name. It was really affirming when I got my first paycheck in my new name.

Amazingly I have found many cis women are absolutely wrong in their assumptions about bra fittings. I knew an elderly lady that said, "I have been a C cup since school, I just buy a bigger band size as my breasts grow." This is completely WRONG as the band should always fit snug with they gore firmly against the chest.    One of CNA's came into Torrid and I helped her pick out a new bra. She didn't even understand band size was inches and cups/band combo were based off Victorian shirt sizes.  She said, "how do you know so much?"   We found her proper fitting band size, then found a cup she fit.    How can people that take the vast majority of bra users know so little about them? Seems most cis women just use "try it on" only.

As has been said many times, this is not a black and white issue. Sure.  I get it that a MtF person that has gone through full male puberty and "transitioned" 6 months ago probably has an advantage in some sports.  But these bans affect elementary school kids too. I mean, banning trans women from Darts?  Chess?
