Hi All,

I'm Joanne and I'm new to this site but not to the Transgender community.

Those that follow the TG threads on Quora may recognize me. I am a Top Writer 2018 and a most viewed Writer on many TG themes.

I have been partly out and about as a transwoman / crossdresser since the late 1960's when I was young and beautiful.

I am a fully transitioned and out transwoman who is active in her community. My transition was a protracted affair and relatively recently completed.

My life is now authentic rather than a continuous performance of a masculine character. This brings me great joy.

I look forward to meeting many of you through our shared thoughts

Cheers

Joanne

Welcome to Trans Pulse, Joanne.  Kudos to you for being a pioneer in the community, whether full time or part time, complete or not.  That was not an easy time to be out in the 60's (or 70's or 80's, for that matter).

Your experience and expertise will be appreciated here in the forums, I'm sure.  I look forward to hearing more about your life..

HUGS

Hi Joanne.  I dressed in the 60's (and as a child in the 50's) but hid as well as i could.  Today like you i am living my life as myself and have been full time for close to 7 years now.  It is simply lovely to be open and honest in the world and it seems one can live as oneself today without being driven out of the town i grew up in.  This part of NJ is actually rural but even the right wing republicans seem to be relatively accepting.

Hugs,

Charlize

Hello Joanne and welcome.  I'm glad you've joined us.  The advise and commentary of someone who's been out and about for a long time is valuable to many.

Thanks All for the words of welcome.

Charlize your comments on rural conservatives made me chuckle.

I live rural and buy lots from old farmers.  One insists on introducing me whenever I encounter him. He introduces me a Joanne, one of those OK Trans types not the weird kind. I reply that Bob is one of those strange old farm types, not spooky just strange. We have both adapted.

This topic reminds me of the lyrics to the Beatles song, "A Little Help From My Friends."   "What do you see when you turn out the lights?"   "I can't tell you but I know it's mine."   Carolyn Marie

@Ivy have you read the actual document?   Has anyone else out there read it?
    • Abigail Genevieve
I am reading the Project 2025 document https://www.project2025.org/policy/   This will take some time.  I read the forward and I want to read it again later.   I read some criticism of it outside here and I will be looking for it in the light of what has been posted here and there.  Some of the criticism is bosh.   @MaeBe have you read the actual document?

      *older, not holder, oops :P
    • Abigail Genevieve
      No problem!

Old topic, but I gotta say my favorites are: "Stop hitting on minors" (doesn't work if you're holder tho) and "Sure as [squid] not you"

Abigail, I think we will just leave the other posts where they are, and the discussion can start anew here.  It is possible to do what you ask, but would disrupt the flow of the discussion in the other thread, and would require more work than it's worth.   Carolyn Marie

I am in too good a mood to earn my certificate today. I am sure something will happen that will put me on the path to earning it.

It's likely most cis-women consider a fitting unnecessary "because they know what  they wear" and get used to the wrong size.  The instructions for what your size is are simple and why go to any further effort?  You measure your bandsize and you measure your max and subtract the two to get the needed info for the cup size.  Then you buy the same size for years until it hurts or something.

Congratulations Lorelei! Yes, it is a powerful feeling to have the documents that say "you are you".

Here is space for discussion on this, since the topic is large and could derail another thread SOMEBODY started.   Could some dear, sweet, kind Moderator pull everything related to this from the Voting for Trump thread and put it here?  I don't know if you can do that; I am the new girl on the block after all (blinks sweetly).

      I think I lost a friend :(

I will have arrived when I have a b*tch certificate of my own.  I think someone called me one once.

That’s fantastic Lorelei. I’m so happy for you.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
