She Meets Me There

Recommended Posts

Two nights ago, the dream returned. With more force and with greater realism than ever before. At a time when the cloak of “T” has once again truly become impenetrable, this is truly disconcerting.

Since I awoke, I have been ruminating on this; exhausting my intellect. I’ve been manic for at least 36 hours.

And so now in a still moment I pen these words.

“She Meets Me There”

Just before dawn she arrives.

In a mirror, reflecting most of what I’ve always known,

She is languid and alluring

Yet somehow anxious;

A Butterfly that hasn’t actually flown,

A Sparrow without her voice.

I watch her.

With her every move she expresses every essence I’ve ever imagined.

I feel her heart race, her thoughts tumble.

I am bound in this vision

And my thoughts are hers

We dance to a sacred, primordial rhythm; one that I knew in my youth

Her arms move with my thoughts,

Her gaze reflects back at me with my eyes

Her lips move with words from my heart; nervous, anticipative and tepid.

We are one. And then...

Apollo’s sheen bursts through a window pane

And the moment is gone.

I am alone.

I lay there for a period of time and absorb, contemplate, decipher

What had transpired.

Sadness slowly envelopes me

As lucidity returns.

And I long for those moments

When she meets me there

... just before dawn.

To those here, I have no other outlet. This is the only place that ever hears my thoughts, even though they are sparse. Please know, I do not mean to infringe on the sanctity if this place. So please forgive any apparent intrusion.

This is a beautiful poem! It feels relatable to me, I feel like a fem spirit trapped in a man's body. I dig the word flow too.

I wouldn't at all say you're infringing on this place. On the contrary, it's a safe place where we can all be ourselves and be open about these feelings.

Hey,

I know how you feel. When I’m alone I feel that love your talking about. Tessa comes out and the world couldn’t be more beautiful! My body and souls feel as one!

What takes the feeling away is you think your not authentic. You’ll never be beautiful enough. It’s a lie Honey.

In your mind is where true beauty resides not in what others think of you! Go on and be beautiful and you will inspire others to see your true self.

Your never really alone either. We all have the inner person that is with us.

Just some thoughts.

Thanks Tessa.  The poem is about a dream.  In the dream, I am Jennifer. And As I am looking in the mirror in the dream, my wife walks in and talks to me as if nothing is wrong. Everything seems normal to her, but I am apprehensive; afraid she will reject me.

And I wake as the sun comes through a window in the room. The dream was real; almost too real. And as the realization set in that it was indeed a dream, the weariness returned.

Peace be yours this day.
