I wish to DESTROY facial hair stubble!

My name isn’t Megan

Title says it all! My shaving exploits always leave an irritating little layer of stubble, and I want it gone. I use canned shaving gel, and a Gillette five blade razor with shaving lube gel strip thingy. Any advice would be greatly appreciated ❤️

Stubble is so hard to manage!  Rinse your face in warm water prior to shaving as it open the pores, cool water tightens your skin which is not desirable.  I like to use lotion and a little water to thin it out.  It softens the skin so the razor glides  better.  You might try going back 5 minutes later to nip the nubs (after your face has relaxed).

This is hokey, but it works for some.  Put a palm full of wash out hair conditioner on it, put a warrm wash cloth over the whole thing, until the cloth starts to cool down. shave with your razor using the warm conditioner instead of the gel as the lubricant.  If it does not help, forget I mentioned it.

Yes this is similar to the idea I noted.  I like this.

I broke down and got a Panasonic ES-LA63 electric.  One can use it in the shower so i wash as usual and then apply soap to my face and have at it.  Amazingly the shave is much closer than i used to get with blades.  Not a cheap option but with light facial hair i find if i shower at night i'm good till the next night and for hours there is nothing but smooth delightful cheer and chin.  Perhaps that's why i haven't yet gone for a good zapping despite the "temptation".

Hugs,

Charlize

Saw this on another site and I've been playing around with it, I've been getting ok-ish results, I still have to work with it a bit more but honestly I'm starting be able to get it to where there's zero stubble, I just have to work on blending it better. It's a -crap- ton of work to do every time you go out but imo it's honestly worth it

First shave and clean your face with a cleanser. I like to use witch hazel because it reduces pores and soothes any irritation from shaving the everliving daylights out of my face. Then apply an oil free moisturizer.

After all of that you apply a primer. It fills on pores and is supposed to help make-up adhere better as well as give a smoother surface to work on. I find it also helps smooth over the follicles so you don't end up with dots of slightly off colored concealer/foundation. Don't spend too much, but you have to find what primer/concealer/foundation works best for your skin by trial and error.

Now the secret sauce, matte lipstick. You can also use chap stick as long as it is red. I personally use a nude shade of matte lipstick that matches my natural lip color. This is what will hide the actual stubble. Don't go crazy, even the cheap stuff works well.

Finally, use a concealer to cover the lipstick. Blend with a blending egg/sponge. PAT don't rub or you'll just smear red all over your face. Then cover with concealer that matches your skin tone. I personally prefer BB cream over foundation as it covers better, but that's just an opinion. Blend again with that egg which I think works better of it's slightly damp.

At this point you can do highlights and Contours if you want or just set everything with a translucent setting powder. From here you can be done or do your eyes. You'll probably have flesh colored lips from the concealer/foundation so you'll probably want to wipe it off or put on some lipstick.

I have never used a wet razor, but do occasionally use an electric one with wet face (one designed so can be used this way).  I find a rinse before shaving helps, and after is good for the skin. I use moisturizer, not any after shave (even in man days I always found the smell too overpowering).

Your quote has some good points LeavesThatAreGreen . Although the metholody is slightly different it is pretty much the way I do things. Just to note that often 'less is more' with regard to makeup, and, as such, it is very easy to overdo it.

Good morning, everyone! I've finally pretty much finished with this head cold. I actually got 5.5 hours of straight sleep last night without taking any cold medication...or waking up to pee. I feel amazingly rested!!   Oh, @Willow, you are in my thoughts and prayers that your throat issue becomes less of a problem over time and not more.   I'm, hopefully, going to get our grass cut today. It takes me somewhere between 2.5 and 3 hours on the zero turn mower but the ground is still so wet that I'll have to slow down a bit. At least it's supposed to be sunny and around 60.   Have a wonderful day!!

We have had some real dillies come out as the initiative sort of thing, but as @Carolyn Marie said, very few make it out of the petition signing seasons.  I am not surprised at the origin site of this thing, it is probably one of only 3 regressive leaning counties we have in the state. We actually had one of these initiatives started to make it mandatory for police to shoot dead on site any Gay behaving individuals wherever they found them.  For the most part the matters are poorly written in ways to be unenforceable even if enacted.  Thus most never become law or get to the voters.

You make some good points, AYS.  But there are usually already too many ballot propositions each election, so the proponents know it's best to wrap it all up into a nice package.  Plus, it's easier for the signature gatherers.  Otherwise they have to have a separate clipboard for each proposition.  Too much paperwork, dontcha know?   This kind of proposition is a loser in CA, so the only possible way the proponents can succeed is to give it the scariest title imaginable and try to put one over on the voters before they get wise.  Bottom line; an ice cube on a hot summer sidewalk has a better chance of success.   Carolyn Marie

Reading that article, it seems like the attorney general gets to call it whatever unless its an outright lie.  Given the nature of politics in CA, it seems like one side has the bully pulpit for sure.  Labeling it "Restricts Rights" vs "Protects Kids" is very much a matter of perspective.  Unfortunately, that matters since many voters don't bother to read.  Perhaps a better (unbiased) way to handle it would be to simply give the ballot measure a number with no title, forcing folks to read it.    I think it would have been better to handle the various issues covered by the ballot measure separately, rather than all at once.  For example, issues relating to disclosure of medical and social information to parents.  That could be its own ballot measure, rather than lumped in with everything else.  Besides, shorter and more succinct measures are more likely to be read completely.
