Hi so I made an account on here when I first came out as trans but didn't really care to continuously check this forum. I'm bigger on discords than I am forums (I think I'm on the discord too).

So I know that MOGAI-type genders are controversial but I identify as digigender. My gender is actually the .csv filetype (really, more generally, a database, as I find solace in collecting and indexing data, and find extreme peace in processing data, all the way down to my core--I really resonate with data structures). I've decided to use my own set of pronouns, file/file/files/files/fileself (File is a database. Data collection means a lot to file. It is files wishes to be seen as a data structure. One of files interest is programming. File has taken it up to fileself to learn as much about programming as file possibly could).

For others that use their own made up pronoun set, how do you get others to start using it? I'm really scared to tell people to use these pronouns else nobody would take me seriously.

I'm sorry Tetris I understand enjoying computers and programming and even being able to be more of yourself online than in real life, but I do not understand, your gender is comma separated values?  What are MOGAI-type genders? Genuinely curious as I have never heard of them.

Yes, I identify very strongly with databases. The concept of them, particularly the plaintext .csv database. So I don't necessarily identify as like... a literal table, ya know. More like the *concept* of a database. What a database stands for, what it's used in, the structure of the database. All of these... resonate with me in a way I can't describe. When I see a well formatted data file, in a way I can't help but to see myself in it. It's really hard to describe. I wish I could.

MOGAI (I forget what it stands for) genders are the spectrum of genders that are the ones 4-chan typically tries to troll. The ones that people say are "made up" and are "Tumblr genders."

For example if you search digigender on Deviant Art, you'll get a flag and a description as part of a network of other MOGAI genders. Digigender is best described to be a digital gender, one where your identity resonates deeply (or you are kin with) something digital like a file format (in my case, a .csv), email, software, or anything else digital-related.

Okay, I can sort of see what you are trying to say but would have to look into it more to understand more. Thank you for taking the time to explain it to me. 😊 I don't want to hijack the thread, so I hope you find the answers you are looking for regarding pronouns.

I'd be happy to explain more later. I just need to sleep now. Forgot that I had classes today and stayed up programming a Discord bot lmao

So, why .csv exactly? out of all the formats you could choose? why that one? because it's familiar? Why not mysql? Far more powerfull and usefull IMO. You got to aim higher, no? I don't want to offend but .csv are very usefull but far too basic. My question would be the following : in the world of digigenders how do people see others who identify as NoSQL? Files do not have emotions, intelligence, purpose, love, connections, etc Do you identify with all of that also? You can put what you want in a .csv file, not just the correctly formatted text. Do you mean that someone mean can ask you to do anything and you will do it and integrate it in your being?

I don't know what constitute a ligit question and an offensive one so please be gentle to me.

I could continue on and on with questions and philosophical conciderations but I will stop there. Can't wait to ear your response.

have a nice day

Well yeah, it's mostly out of familiarity. It's more the "database" I identify with as opposed to the CSV directly. I am yet to learn JSON or SQL but I intend to. But part of why I really like CSV is *because* it's so simple. It's data in its rawest form. Its most abstract, baseline form. It'd be difficult to express data any simpler than that. I could represent all this data graphically, couldn't I? And yes, while linear regression machine learning models *are* attractive in their own sense, they lack the poetry that a simple CSV holds. Through all that simplistic data being displayed comes a hidden pattern. The numbers hold the answers to questions we didn't even know we had. While JSON and SQL are objectively better data structures, there's simply something about how raw CSVs are that I love. All it is is just strings and numbers separated by commas. That's all it is on the surface... but the hidden, underlying structure behind those strings and numbers is what makes me swoon. So beautiful, and I feel it to my core. All databases really capture my attention, but it's the simplicity of CSV that really makes me love it.

It's hard to explain why I consider myself a database. On one hand, it's a kin thing. I'm very, very kin with numbers, data, and data structures in a way I'm really incapable of putting into words. On the other hand, we're all data structures, in a way. We're all a database of the sum total of things we've learned in life. In many ways, the way I organize my mental structures are closer to a tree rather than a CSV (as is with most people), but I find if I mentally store parameter-based data in a mental csv, I'm able to remember things FAR better. More accurately, in a mental struct.

I'm sorry but no we are not. In fact our memory is very inreliable (for most of us anyway, some are different). The brain is basically a network of neuron that are connected to each other. Each time you access a part of is you reinforce this connection. But those connection are unstable so sometimes a link is "pruned" and a memory becomes "polluted" and maybe false links are created. Here's a video of what i'm talking about :

brains are more akin to neural networks : https://towardsdatascience.com/how-to-build-your-own-neural-network-from-scratch-in-python-68998a08e4f6

I'm linked something in case you want to learn. Each part of our brain do a very narrow job. All the speed of the brain is in how it's able to fetch a message from one network to another and analyse an image (for example) in a small number of steps. You can replicate that when you program an AI on a computer. I suggest you research "deep learning" and "neural networks" on the internet to learn about it. It's very interesting and it also show how much more a brain is then a simple database.

here's a VERY good vulgarization of the brain :

I'm well aware of how neural networks work lmao I know how to program NNs. I was more talking in a philosophical sense.

to return to your original question : I work in computers, I'm a programmer. Each time I tell others what I'm doing they don't understand on a quite basic level. My estimation is that 20% of the people when I say : "I'm a programmer" will know what I do. The 80% don't really know what a database is really. So they won't know the link between identity and databases. You will just have a lot of explaining to do that's for sure. But hey, I have a lot to do just to explain my work so it's to be expected.

in my experience people who call you one pronouns for a long time will have a hard time changing. But if you say your prefered pronouns to a new person you meet they will probably use it whatever it is.

(My goal was to add arguments to my disagreement and not to say what you know and you don't know. As far as I know you maybe are the best programmer in the world. I'm sorry if you took it the wrong way.)

Nah I didn't take it the wrong way. I was just clarifying I meant what I said in a philosophical sense and not in a literal sense hehe

I was talking also on a philosophical sense, my basic argument being that if you are a metaphorical database we are a very unreliable one (most of us)

Thank you Jackie. I am lucky enough to have nails i can do myself to a reasonable standard. It wasnt always the case. I have taught myself how. But be assured my first efforts were nothing like the semi skill i have in that department.       Shawna; Awesome news on the acceptance from your nearest and dearest. Post a picture of those boots if you can. Love to see them 😊     Just a smal piece of happiness today. It is always nice when something is justified.   My voice. If you look back its one of those things i did with only the therapy of singing to Annie Lennox in the car and just working  hard to get it just right. Since perfecting it. I have never really had it questioned like talking on the phone and such like.. Yesterday i was in an online platform. I ended up talking to a woman i had never spoke to before.  Somehow the conversation got onto menopause. She contiued to ask me about how did mine go. Therefore i can just assume my voice has reached a point where it is no diffrent from any other woman in the street.   Not much. But it lovely when something happens like that and it kind of justifys the work you put in. As perfecting a voice to portray me was always very important for me to archieve.

Well asked my wife why she went straight to the big D. She said she married a man.   I need to let her know if I decide to continue to transition and we get a divorce. That I will be moving, I will not be able to live in the same town as she does without being married to her.  I will have to make sure that If I visit my sons and their families that it is not when she is. If it happens I probably just severe all contact with her. It will hurt too much to even see her.    I hope this makes sense to somebody as I barely does to me.   Kymmie

I'm so sorry that you went through that ordeal, Debra.  That is an awful trauma for anyone to experience.  I'm glad that you got the help you needed, and reported that sexual predator and he got what he deserved.  You did all the right things, and I hope that your old roomie appreciated that you turned in that creep.    Thank you for being brave and for setting an example that others here can learn from.  You are a hero in my eyes.   (((HUGS)))   Carolyn Marie

Hi everyone! I'm looking for a little advice.   I've been on T for a little over a year. I just turned 24. Im in South Ga.  I have supportive friends (most of which are trans as well), I've had a couple partners in the past year (also trans), and I'm generally holding a good life together. I'm encountering an issue now that I'm having trouble turning to anyone I know about, and I'm hoping y'all can help.  I look in the mirror when I'm not wearing any clothes and I see myself, I see a man, I see someone worthy of desire. But as soon as I start to put on clothes or think about going out, I lose it. I don't feel attractive, I don't feel seen, I don't feel like myself. I pass about 80% of the time. But I've never had any of the moments my other transmasc friends have had where they've been hit on, or felt fully seen, as men. Just a hot guy at the bar kinda thing. I've always been trans first. "That's Theo, he's trans, look how cute, what a sweet boy" - but there's an unspoken 'no one will bring him home, no one will be his friend in public' type thing, chasers not included.  Anyway. I'm having trouble aligning my self with my public self. I see a man in the mirror when I'm alone - separate from the social performance of fashion, dress, and interaction. But then I go out and I stress about every nuance.I stress about holding my shoulders right, about speaking the way I should. I dress well enough, I'm hip, I'm collected enough to be attractive-adjacent  by current standards. But I'm still not seen in a way that makes life easy. I'm always on guard. I want to move with an easy thoughtlessness, but I'm hyper-aware of every moment. My depression is getting worse and it feels linked to this dysphoria.  I don't know how to exist.  I'm tired of being opted into my battles rather than choosing them.    Idk even what I'm really asking. I guess I just want to feel seen.  If anyone has any advice about encountering trouble a year into T and a few years into social transition I'd appreciate it!   Love always, Theo

I've actually started T while still living with my parents, and they don't know I'm trans. I've always dressed in masculine ways, had short-ish hair, and enjoyed masculine activities more than feminine ones. I've never been a girly-girl, no matter how hard my Mom tried to make me one! I was able to blame most of the "masculinity" on sensory comfort since I'm on the autism spectrum (Asperger's), but I'm mostly in the closet as a trans man. I've told two close friends, some supportive coworkers, and a couple of distant relatives, but my immediate family still doesn't know.   I told my parents that I was starting T as an unconventional treatment for some medical conditions, since I knew voice changes would happen quickly and I didn't want to freak them out too badly. It worked. I sound almost as deep as my brother, and they just don't realize what's REALLY going on! My therapist and I are making a plan for telling them the truth when I don't have to depend on them financially anymore, and I'm really looking forward to doing so, but I know it won't be a comfortable discussion. It's why I'm still closeted. I'll have to tell them right before top surgery, I'm sure, which is when I'll be socially and legally transitioning (during recovery).   All that to say, yes, I started transitioning LOOOOOOONG before I came out.

Yeah I knew from the start that was where you were headed, it's not her though, it's you! Look at your record, and we're suppose to underwrite what you are doing? I know the others here don't have the nerve to confront this sort of thing, I do and I want you to reconsider what you are doing and ask yourself if your marriage is just another convenience for you, or were you actually serious about the vows you took and did you actually love her at all? Think about it, you don't have to be embarrassed, we will support you if you are making any kind of effort to make it work. She married you for better or for worse, she's trying to make it work in spite of everything.

      Totally with you on that!

...then your invited to your wife’s room for an afternoon of sex.  For hours. I’m not going to kiss n tell but it was fabulous. It was loving and special and tender  It was also mostly lesbian sex.  (-what the heck-).  Talk about giving confusing signals.   Just when she has me resolved to eventually moving out due to “not wanting to be a lesbian In our marriage ” I get an afternoon like this.   I don’t need confusion right now.  Mixed signals.  I have no idea why or if she is just trying it to see or what.   For me  It is boiling down to she does not want me if I’m going to be the true me.  Which makes me very hurt and very angry.  Spurring on my pride to just end it.  But I won’t.  Not yet.   Im not ready financially to go out on my own.   Aaashhhhhrrrgggg.  I feel trapped.
    • ShawnaLeigh
I’m at a tipping point where I love her dearly and our home and life.  Ours plans for retirement but I am also ready for a positive change.  To find someone who can give me what I want and need.  I am tired of being the “guy” in our marriage and she is being so nice lately as my lady friend.  I am leaning towards moving on. Even if it starts on a low note.    Sorry for hijacking your post Toni.   but thanks just the same.  ❤️
